Not the best of days so even more reason to think of 5 good things
    1) mistyping things as thongs. 5 good thongs would of course for mhags would be flipflops. Raised an eyebrow when the ozzie student talked about lapses in lrofessionalism, example being young doctors wearing thongs. We wanted to know how on earth she knew!
    2) dd2 giving me a hug. For everything else there might be mastercard but that was priceless
    3) realising i'd left mu handbag under the desk at my 3pm meeting. My stomach did a slight flip when i couldnt find it at going home time
    4) gbf liked my two handmade bday cards for him and his partner
    5) watching paddington shorts on youtube with dd2. Lots of giggles.
And yes frith what was roy thinking, and is elizabeth going to be preggers?!

Kittikins I wish I'd had a teacher like you, you make learning sound such fun :)
Giddynmg I love your 'comeday night' :D
Sorry to hear of so many poorlies. please get well now

    1. Good run down to DB, and same coming home. Some slow spots but moving, I averaged 49.2mpg. Very pleased!
    2. DM a little brighter, she's now on a course of meds after which she'l have more tests and if 'they' think she's well enough she'll be discharged. Soc wkr has promised a full care package, we're determined she'll get everything on offer this time.
    3. Took some old photo's with me, one of DB, late DSis and myself taken as children and one of DM with my DGF on her wedding day. She loved them and kept picking them up to look at so will take more when I go next. DB borrowed the one of us to copy and show his children what a handsome young man he was ;)
    4. Torrents of rain with thunder and lightning just as I got home. No watering needed this evening and the water butt is full for the first time in months
    5. Knowing I don't have to rush to get up tomorrow
quick advance 6 - friends phoned to arrange a trip to Ikea on Thurs as their sale has started

    Sweet dreams :)

Has been a day most wild and wilder! Big storms and very high winds and oh so cold!

Our street furniture at work started to blow about so we had to bring it all in ...took 10 minutes off my close at night :)
I normally just wear my work tee shirt as it's so warm with grills and coffee machine etc producing heat but had a jumper on all afternoon as it was so chilly.

Tree on the train line, so train only went so far and then everybody had to get off and try and get on a bus.....lucky by this time it was dry and as I waited for the second replacement bus I got a seat. The first bus was dangerously full in my opinion. Chatted to a Scottish man and an English man...who must have heard me on the phone and started chatting! Made the journey go a bit quicker. 12 minute journey took over an hour!

There have been power cuts in my wee town and local businesses had to close. I'm glad I'm coming home for a heat...hopefully pirate Pete will have the dial cranked up to full power for next 2 weeks!

We had a new girl work with us today, she was trialled last week and was nice.

Cracked open my terramundi pot last night so enough money saved up for car rego which is due when I get back from my holidays , so won't have to worry about finding it then, as I won't get paid when I'm away.

    Have a lovely Tuesday :)

Why do you hide the lamp under your table. Should you not put it in the window and let the oil burn it bright.

5 As the Man Cave is no more, I am in no rush to get home from the Salt Mine this evening. In fact, we and BoPsie are on the treaders later. Flicking through ogle box last nite, 6 days to go for cancelation of TV Tax, and saw some noddy programme on stressed out wannabes. Something about dates, not the eating variety. Anyway BoPsie noted that the men were not of her fancy. In fact, she remarked that she wanted a blokes man. Happy I am such. Now there are reports that the ogle box is too sanitised these days, not enough interjections etc. No wander! TV Guide for ogle box on 15th July. 7 pm. Non Entity flog my book show. 7:30 Unending story about nobodies in the east end of a northern town. 8 pm X list 80’s celebrity cooking show, phone in to vote. Other channel 7 pm 80 delebrity cooking show, where we bought our food! 8 pm Good news though, as the French ATCs have gone on strike, their team will be delayed coming home. Shame Engerland does not do the same.

4 Now I normally gorge only at weekends, but BoPsie has got BoP some proper mans food. And it is on the packet with the Monster on it. Sloshed down with proper milk. Not that soya version that has allegedly rocketed in price at an emporium over the passing days.

3 Waited with breath last night, as the meteorological service had issued a red warning, that storms of thunder were brewing up so badly, I was unlikely to get home. BoPsie was in the garden brushing Raffles bone dry. Now about Raffles, though I has noted a bib on Isis, which is white, our Raffles has grey and white. There was no roar of thunder. As it is some farm junket this weekend, it will be wet, so no barbeques!

2 Down. Every crossword has it. Never 1 across but get a little two down. Left BoPsie with the crossword yesterday, and we only had to correct two of hers later. Still, it was finished by the BoP!

1 Where the Raven and chicks forever lain.

In the midst of the fog, a red light used to shine. It was in line with the path, then one needed to return. The old town would be misted in the fog of the morning, yet above, to the south was clear. Throughout the darkest nights, they kept the lamp bright, by keeping the oil free. Just as those that kept a light while the shackles were tied to the mistress. While one is set free, others newly lay in distress.

As for the light, new came from old. The most bombed village in the war?

    The badge, look for it.

    1) An alarm going off on my phone to warn me I was about to be late for counselling appointment - good thing it did as I could have sworn the appointment was tomorrow! :o

    2) Met a new neighbour who kindly took in a parcel for me and came round to drop it off when I got home from work. :T

    3) Quick tuna pasta for dinner as I needed to leave quite promptly to get to the pub quiz...

    4) And then decided I couldn't face the heat of the pub (no air conditioning and windows that don't open ) and would stay home with the door open instead.

    5) Cooler weather forecast from tomorrow. I love the heat but Isis really doesn't, and it would be nice to see my cat again sometime soon!
Back after a very long break!

    1. Worked from home writing up processes.
    2. Washing loads done and line dried.
    3. Went across the bridge to visit the new home bargains and get the last bits for a project from Ikea, and traffic was kind thankfully.
    4. Did a small amount of gardening and watering, hoping the garden will be alright while we are away.
    5. 3 days to go…..:j:j
And also making use of the MSE site reading up recipes for the next week, we are due to head away, but it's typically this month that has been a long 5 week month and not paid until :jthe 6th week. But lots of planning as well.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Another busy day and I've been ticking things off my "to do" list. Some of them more pleasurable than others :o

    My pleasures:

    1) Baking with my class. We made fairy cakes, following a recipe which I'd found on the BBC Food website. I know there are plenty of recipes around, but this was simple to display to all children and didn't have patronising pictures of an egg etc. The children were fab and enjoyed licking the bowls, once I'd told them that they weren't allowed officially but what happened when I turned my back was another thing. :rotfl:

    2) Used a voucher in Mr T's. Though realised when it was too late that I picked up two items on offer in the cooked meats aisle... only to realise they were in two separate offers. :(

    3) Done some ironing. There's still more to go, but I thought I'd better do some! :o

    4) Pay day today. Done all my transfers into the "pots". :j (eg car servicing, dentist....)

    5) Sorting out an anniversary card for my Canadian cousin's 10th wedding anniversary. She's lovely and we have great Skype conversations!

    Night all x
