Will catch up in next day or so. I am OK in myself and things are starting to come together after the burglary.
Typing this on loaned laptop, which, apart from having the security settings too high, is better than the one that got nicked.
My ancient netbook has resurrected itself and is behaving well; crucial, as it holds work documents.
Insurance not paying out as door wasn't locked, even though it wasn't open and they certainly weren't invited in.

Oh mcc poor you. We had a similar experience with insurance - due to no sign of forced entry to car no pay-out. And tesco - due to telling them 8 days after phone bust (we were away when daughter's phone got dropped and didnt clearly read the smallprint which sed must be within 7 days). I hate insurance companies! We changed the car one and now shop at lidl unless we really have to do mr t so actually our gain as we found it to be much cheaper! So hope something good can come out of your experience.
    1) weather held for community bbq
    2) caught up with friends i dont see much
    3) dd2 home with her bf - i had bought her 21 silly little pressies as a late bday pressie in addition to the knitted blanket
    4) got quite a bit of cleaning done and have emptied the old wendy house which we converted into a bike shed. Bikes now in the garage.
    5) made 2 birthday cards from foam packs from mr t bought a very long time ago. Have wrapped up 2 bottles of polish liquer as pressies. Very mse :D
Sun is out, just cleared up bbq mess with xoh (7 black bin bags now in our and neighbours' wheelies, 3 green boxes of bottles) and xoh has cooked scrambled egg on toast. Have a good day all

Thanks DD. That is so annoying, isn't it?
The point that annoyed me was that I was in the house, but asleep and heard nothing. It's not as if the thieves were invited in.
Basically, if a thief gets into your house through an unlocked door at any time of day, you are not covered. Which makes one a bit paranoid.

I already shop at A!di, can't go much cheaper!

I had a burst of activity on surveys last week, as a distraction and thanks to speedy payouts earned enough to pay for a new leather purse and new leather handbag on Am*zon. What quality the handbag will be, I'm not sure, the general tone of reviews is 'better than expected'.
The purse looks decent enough - the thieves looked at but left my Per Una embroidered bag, a gift from my sister -in-law, so until the handbag arrives, that is doing duty as my temporary handbag.

    So pleasures...

    1. A rather nice pasta bake last night for tea.
    2. Royal Ascot on TV all week.
    3. Rescuing chillis from greenfly predation without chemicals.
    4. Useful little stopwatch/timer sent in post to review for Am*zon, by manufacturer.
    5. Knowing that all will be sorted, eventually. Everything passes, good or bad.
