Have a fab time VJsmum, hope the sun keeps on shining for you x
Bon voyage to DD as well! I loved Malta when I went there a gazillion years ago *sigh* x
I've had a toughish day today, feeling tired, oddly grumpy, a bit snappy (by my standards) with the class at times......I'm going to have an early night and hopefully be back to myself by the 'morrow.
So, pleasures...
1. Sunshine!
2. Had a lovely walk to and from the village rec with the class for their outdoor PE lesson, they are such cuties.
3. Yummy doughnut peaches or whatever they're called as part of my lunch.
4. Having the self-awareness to appreciate that I'm not quite myself today!
5. Yummy rock cake from the corner shop0 -
1 - Mega productive day at work today so I'm ahead of where I need to be which is great.
2 - Bought a lovely new zebra print scarf for only £5.
3 - Lovely words from a staff member who is off to pastures new.
4 - 2 sneaky chocs out a box that was given to us. Strawberry one and coconut one. Yummy
5 - Seeing a gorgeous picture of my friend and her little boy. It made me smile so much.0 -
VJsmumm are you ensconced at the big G festival this weekend? Have a wonderful time, it sounds like you are.
1. Final part of the handover done, I’ve done as much as possible but lost the ompth now.
2. Planting out cucumbers as they’ve grown somewhat.
3. Tonight is HM curry and brown rice with turmeric
4. Picked up just bread and milk from the coop
5. Started writing a list of things we must not forget to do or take with us and feels like I am getting ore into it.0 -
What a day.
Here are my mixed pleasures and not pleasures:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Both sons made me a cup of tea (and I drank both!)
3) Went into town for a cup of tea with my school friend.
4) Took smaller son to another open afternoon at his high school to be. This was unpleasant in that it (again) took me an hour to get him through the door. He also refused to look at the man they had brought in for the afternoon, with eagles and owls, but generally kicked stuff, made clicking noises and tried to escape. The pleasure was that I was told by the head of the autism base that no one would ever judge him or me and that I was the most patient person they had ever met!
5) Took bigger son for his climbing lesson and he passed not only level 1 but also level 2 because they put him in for that at the same time! Very chuffed about that. :-) From September he can go into a higher group.
6) Sons sad that no one had bought me a birthday cake or sung happy birthday so we popped to Waitrose to do just that (well, the cake, not the singing).
7) To make the day even more surreal, friends of the ex husband came round to say he has been evicted (I knew) and that he has broken part of a court order type thing from the fraud case where he was convicted 4 years ago. I had nearly forgotten about that. It's all looking a bit dicey for him. We did chat about other nice things as well so it was good to see them.0 -
Awake since silly o'clock this morning but I've been reasonably productive.
Big pot of veggy soup on using scary veg from the fridge and made 6 mini apple and pear crumbles . All to go in the freezer to feed my family when I'm away.
No work for 3 whole weeks!
My Wednesday pleasures included:
Last day at work was fine, glad to be finished.
My lovely young colleague gave me the most stunning bouquet of flowers, a russety red colour of roses and orange orchids.....I won't be here to enjoy them but it was a very kindly thought!
DD1 came and met me at the train station with a brolly to cover my flowers
We went out for dinner to our local Thai restaurant. We had a hilarious moment when I got my words mixed up! Told the girls I wanted their beds stripped this morning so I could wash their sh*tes .....meant to say sheets. As I don't use bad language at home it was even funnier that I said it!!
Loads to do today , need to get most done this morning as appointments in afternoon......holidays tomorrow!!
A little note about karma. The very nasty toxic couple who owned the business I briefly worked at last year ( I was number 12 out 14 staff to leave....13 and 14 followed shortly after) ....anyway, their business has not worked out! Fabulous food but lousy people and management skills!
Felt slightly smug when I found out....I will never forget how that nasty little woman spoke to me on my last day.....so when she offered me the choice of stay or go , I went! Anyway, onwards and upwards and I went on to better things.0 -
frith is it your birthday?
Happy birthday to you0 -

_party_ Happy Birthday Frith, here's a cal/fat/carb free cake for you :bdaycake: Enjoy. I'm singing Happy Birthday to you, you just can't hear me
And _party_ Happy Birthday CCP one for you too :bdaycake: - looks like I've had a baking session
Enjoy Glasto VJsmum, with plenty of singing and
I rather fancy the idea of driving us all in a charabanc down to Bangor for the day BoP. Not so sure you'd enjoy me singing and dancing though! (Not sure you'd enjoy me driving either, being a bloke an' all)
DD enjoy what you can of Malta, one of my favourite places.
Not the best of days as DB saw the doctor this afternoon, she suggests one of us show arrange to have power of attorney as DM's confusion isn't going to improve, and said she'll only be able to go back home very briefly until a residential place is found for her. I should be used to this as I've worked with older people for 30 years but it's very different when it's ones own mother.
However, got to be positive and I will find 5 -
1. Got another free trial of cleaning product in the post, my house should be spotless. If I ever get time to clean it, that is
2. A £4 payment for a survey
3. Went to see DD, rather than sit and chat we decided to do some 'essential' shopping and of course had to have lunch at the watermill restaurant. It was beautiful sitting on the deck watching the swans and dragonflies
4. Got back and DNeighbour invited me in for a cuppa. Took her DD some flapjacks, some of which which we shared with our tea
5. The 5 double, pink poppies which were growing at the front of the house have produced an egg cup full of seeds. DNeighbour and I going to sow them along the footpath between the two houses.
Sweet dreams0 -
1. My rasberries are almost ready to pick - I tried one (the only one ready) and it was good.
2. Reading my kindle while waiting for the bus in the sun - the bus was 1/2 hour late but weather was good.
3. Tea was good - lamb and cannelloni beans.
4. Replanting a tree in the garden - hopefully it will grow away from the rabbits.
5. Washing dried on line.0
