Ahhh its so quiet here, am basking in the luxury of being alone apart from the cat, hens , guinea pigs and rabbits - but they are all quiet, enjoying the sun and fullup!
1. Dd has gone to friends for coffee, or should I say waddled. She is now 34 weeks pregnant and not going far on her own.
2. Dh has gone fishing at a lake that caters for disabled fisherman, loaded up with snacks for him and the fish.
3. hens laid 2 eggs - major success apart from the second mystery egg falling down the ladder and smashing. My ex batts are obviously now healthier and settled in.
4. Found my propogator trays and can now plant second lot of veggies. Dd managed to knock 3 pots of tomato seeds off the window ledge so had to do them again but with the now warm house due to new double glazing am expecting great things this year.
5. washing floating happily on the line and 2 baskets now empty - yay me!
Am feeling warm and a lot happier today despite old knee injury playing up and NSD completes my day. Took a curry out of freezer for lunch and spag bol for tea, organising myself has helped a great deal.:TClearing the junk to travel light

phew! That will teach me to miss a day!
1) Went to fetch my microwave that I won on ebay and dropped our broken one off, which has since been mended by the nice ebay man for a quarter of what I was quoted by the commercial repair guy.
2) going to get said microwave involved getting out for a bit! The water was calm so the ferry didnt rock! And the sun was out! Even managed to go to Mr T and get some bargains! (tho I couldnt find the whoopsie bit)
3) After a none laying day yesterday, we are back to normal with 5 eggs today! The day I get more than 5 will be excitingBut they are all feathered again now, so once the weather picks up im hopeful!
4) Made a smoked salmon brulee for specials board today that I havent made before, and its come out ok! The best bit was that I also decided to give meringues a go to use up the egg whites. I never made them before either. Thought I would try nests... no one told me meringue rises / doubles did they! Ah well, at least they worked, if a little big!
5) The whoopsied brisket got chucked in the SC first thing along with 2 packs of whoopsied stew pack things. Voila - instant (well once cooked lol) effortless staff meal that smells divine!
Have a lovely evening, looking forward to all potentail recipe posts!
JexI will pay jexygirl the compliment of saying that she invariably writes a lot of sense!0 -
Jexy, guess what, there was no dancing, both DH and I were so tired and cold that we opted to stay indoors and watch a DVD instead! Felt a bit guilty but not too much LOL
Next week is the last week so we will have to go, no excuses! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
For those who requested the lentil pate recipe:
150g red lentils *1. Cook for 20mins. until nice and soft.
3/4 pint veg stock
2 med. onion
3 cloves of garlic * 2. Fry until lovely and yummy
3teaspoons mixed herbs brown
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 slices bread crumbed or whizzed oats
1 teaspoon salt * 3. Add and mix remaining ingredients.
1 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
Whizz it all in in a food processor. Freezes well.
My 5 for today:
1. Being out of the office and at one of my favourite clients, where I will be for a few days. It's only 5 minutes from my house, as well.
2. Free lecture this evening at the University, by an author about how she does the research for her novels. Should be good.
3. Feeling pleased with the revisions that I have done so far to my story.
4. My friend at the gym being really helpful again with offering to help me find a tenant for my house when I go abroad.
5. Enjoying my yummy lentil pate for lunch.

Evening all!
jexy - don't worry, I won't take it personally that you laughed at our quiz team. The team that won seemed to think it was quite funny, too!
My five for today:
1) It's been a bright, sunny day, and even quite warm if you could find a corner out of the wind. (Standing anywhere in the wind was cold! :snow_grin)
2) HM bread and lemon curd for breakfast. (The lemon curd wasn't HM, although it's on my list of things that I must try making one of these days...)
3) Found out that my sister's favourite musical is on at my local theatre, so I've sent her an invitation to an evening out.
4) Treated myself to some Italian vine-ripened tomatoes to go with my lunch. They were expensive, unseasonal, and very un-MSE, but they taste like summer.
5) Lazy tea tonight - chicken kiev, chips and beans, then banana custard. It's the sort of meal I only eat about once a year, so it feels like a real treat.
Have a pleasant evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
