    1. DD and I are on our holidays, back in the village we used to live in :)

    2. We monkeyed about on the beach for a bit yesterday in the sunshine

    3. We stayed over with some lovely chums, and have an even lovelier house to house-sit for a couple of days now.

    4. Went to our gorgeous friendly church this morning and saw lots of friends.

    5. Was invited over for dinner with some chums. Yummy, and so lovely to be able to sit and have lots to catch upon.

    6. Sunshine today!! :):)

    7. Have logged in to housesitting friend's t'internet, all is good in my world.

    8. Preparing lessons is going slowly, but well. However, I am starting with the easy subjects......but, every little helps!

    9. Slept on an amazingly comfortable sofa last night and have the world's comfiest bed to sleep in tonight and tomorrow - bliss!

    10. Lots of cuddles with DD. We like our breaks, and lovely to be back somewhere we know so well, and to be taking life as it comes rather than planning to the nth degree for a change.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

Everyone must be enjoying the lovely weather we've had today. DH and I visited London, staying over last night. Just a little treat for the beginning of the half term. DH has the whole week off with me and we're hoping to visit various places during this time.

However, my pleasures for the last couple of days:

    1) Finished A.P. McCoy's autobiography, which was imaginatively called "My Autobiography". Enjoyable if you like horse racing!

    2) Went on a guided walking tour in London yesterday called "Spies and spycatchers". Really interesting and took us through a part of London we rarely enter (Mayfair!). DH had never walked down Bond Street before - he's planning his lottery win now!

    3) Visited the Household Cavalry Museum this morning, just behind Horseguards. Used our Art Pass to get in for free. :j :j Well worth a visit, if you're in the area.

    4) Lunch with a friend. She'd found a voucher for the restaurant we went to, so all the better!

    5) Back home to a lovely cup of tea!

    Quite a busy day here!

    1) A bit of a lie in.

    2) Archers On a Nimbus.

    3) Painted the living room! Just the gloss to do tomorrow.

    4) Then had to really clean the living room including everything taken down (mirror, clock etc) and have a sort out.

    5) Used my new iron. My old one (bought before going to Uni) had got more and more feeble. I didn't realise how bad it was before this one got red hot and billowed steam! So I ironed all the boys' trousers and creased T shirts and various things of mine.

    6) My school friend came over and hasn't long gone. She brought cake with her.

    7) Lots of texts from smaller son. They did phone me at one point but could barely talk as they were in their pyjamas and were having a play fight, hitting each other on the head with their pants...

Going to bed just now. Hadn't realised how late it has got but I've been watching the election coverage. Hoping to be on the allotment tomorrow, if the weather is reasonable.

    1. After yesterday's constant downpour it was good to have the sun all day. A bit breezy but we can't have everything, and it kept the heat off while I was weed pulling
    2. Just a Minute
    3. Good lunch out, salmon Nicoise followed by chocolate sponge and ice cream. And excellent meal for a bargain price
    4. Sorted out a family problem, much to my relief. Should make things easier for everyone concerned.
    5. Found DM's birthday present, I think she'll like it as it's something she'd given up trying to find after searching for a long time

    Sweet dreams :)

Well today has hardly been money saving...in on one hand and straight back out on the other!

So whilst I normally say on a Monday ....payday :).... Today was oh here's some pay and spend it all within 2 hours! DD2 'needs' stuff for school production! This annoys me each year....the list they have seems to get longer every year! Just what I felt like after a long day at work...traipsing round shops with my daughter. She is a proper shopaholic...me not so much!

Then had to take DD1 for an emergency GP appointment ....after 5pm it's more expensive ...of course it is! We will be able to claim back this expense but have to pay upfront!

Then let's pay the pharmacist for the prescription! All $40 of it! ( but nabbed a free sample of soap whilst there)

In between shopping and doctors visit I made mince and tatties for tea whilst multitasking and chatting to my friend from home on the phone.
    So that was nice :)

Had quite a productive day at work but glad to get a seat on the train and go home.

Have been in touch with the girl from work who died's mum, so going to see her on Wednesday night. Not sure if looking forward to it is the right phrase but it will be good to see her. We have had a collection at work and want to give it to a chosen charity.

Had a spider incident on way home from pharmacy, had just climbed into car and was turning round to put my seatbelt on when I saw the biggest beast I have ever laid eyes on in this country. Just about landed on DDs knee....is it outside? Is it outside? Yes it was but she leaned over me and locked the door! It certainly looked big enough to have opened the door with any one of its hairy legs.
I had to drive the thankfully short distance home and my oh so (scathingly) brave husband knocked it off with a branch ( which broke) meanwhile I was still inside the car squealing! Very traumatised, I hate the things!

Have a good bank holiday Monday. Hope the sun shines brightly.

    1) NSD and NPD, as was yesterday now I come to think of it. :money:

    2) Isis whirl-winding around the flat with her ball. :D

    3) Essay number 2 finished and submitted, which means that's the course all finished. :j

    4) Isis curled up asleep on the bed, and me curled up on the sofa with my new book - the best use for a soggy bank holiday Monday.

    5) As I finished my essay today I have a spare day tomorrow - I had booked the day off work expecting I would need more time to work on my essay - just a shame the weather's forecast to be nasty again. :(
Back after a very long break!
  • Whirlwind cats, clouds, essays done, monkeys, ah, you little monkey there on the beach.

5 Snorkers, bacon, eggs, tatties, mushrooms, SpagYETTI for starters. Washed down tea. Yum yum.

4 Sat in yard with crusted aged ham mustard roll. With yellow shining.

3 Evening Scrabble with BoPsie. And she has won a few since yous lot got behind her. Not fare on your BoP! But is all bar the shouting.

2 And another seven letter word hits the bored. Evicted. Bingo. I win.

1 If you could not be bothered when they took the unclean, and keep quiet when it rained. Will you care, when your neighbour is taken!

    Another busy day!

    1) A lie in.

    2) Took some scrap wood down to mum and dad's as they have a bonfire always half built.

    3) My sister had left me some wedding photos that have me or sons in.

    4) Spent about 3 hours on the allotment. Weeded a lot, put some canes up for the tomatoes, planted squash plants out.

    5) Another allotment lady gave me some red sunflower plants so I gave her some sweet pepper plants.

    6) Popped to Sainburys.

    7) Had a really good go at the garden. Swept, weeded. Planted some aquilegia out.

    8) Ironed the curtains and put them back up in the living room. Looks much better for being painted.

    9) Cleaned all the floors downstairs. And the stairs.

    10) Tasty tea of a Higgidy pie, tomato and lettuces and radishes from the allotment!

    11) Watching Springwatch now.

    12) Pudding will be a YS fruit salad with a crème brulee (my favourite pudding).

    Evening all :hello:

Well, it's been a typical bank holiday Monday - raining all day!

    1) DH and I cleaned the house pretty thoroughly. That's after he smashed one of the glasses in the kitchen. I did ask him to work his way through the mugs next time as we have so many and none of them match. I'd love an excuse to go out and buy at least 4 which match. ;)

    2) Sorted out all the birthday cards for June. There are 5 birthdays of close friends/DH/close friends' children all before 13th June, so I thought I'd ensure I was sorted during this week!

    3) Started the money management online course (for free!) which Martin mentioned in a weekly e-mail. :money: Quite short units, but all very thought provoking. There are some interesting courses coming up, which I think I might sign up for. Here's the link to their forthcoming online courses - all for free.

    4) Got an ever bulging bag of books for the charity shop, thanks to our cleaning and sorting!

    5) Sorted out loads of articles for a friend who is visiting Paris. I love my travel magazines, so I thought she would benefit from the Paris bits.

Right, there is a glass of wine with my name on it. :rotfl:

    Evening all.

1 - Having a bank holiday off. I don't normally get them. It's not an extra day unfortunately, though I will get in lieu later, but it was nice.

2 - Another day with the OH. Mostly just relaxed as it was so wet again today.

3 - The little things OH does for me like carrying my bags and giving me a hoody because it was raining. He's pretty thoughtful.

4 - Nice catch up with my sister on the phone. We are getting excited about all the upcoming plans we have. All of which have been paid for already!

5 - Realising that I still have £300 left with payday on Wednesday so a nice chunk sent to my savings account.
