Good luck for your meeting tomorrow KK :)
Pleased to hear your DM's treatments are all over mhags, that's good news
Have a good break PK, hope you don't get caught up in any jams
Good to hear your review went well giddynmg
Safe trip and enjoy Krakow DD
Love your new sig Frith :D

1 Like Frith a similar thing happened here, the traffic was crawling at 15 mph as it was like driving through wet, thick fog. Luckily I seeded the bald bits of the garden yesterday so didn't have to give them another watering. Less than an hour later the sun was shining again, must be very late April showers :p
    2. Doglet went on his holidays yesterday for a couple of days which has given me time to get rid of most of the hairs in the bedroom. The lounge's turn tomorrow
    3. Got a pair of per una jeans and blouse in the cs, plus a gorgeous bag and bnwt shoes. A whole outfit, plus a book, for a very little money
    4. Met a friend for lunch, we arranged our day out to Kings Lynn on Saturday allowing time to stop for breakfast on the way
    5. Sold Mr W today and two hours later the new treadmill arrived. Will be able to get back to walking once I find someone who can put it together!

    Sweet dreams :)

Morning all - actually have some time to write a post!

PK - sorry about your dad. Mine can be very up and down too, as can MiL - though she is much harder work. Have a nice time in the CoL - we have decided not to go anywhere this holiday, which is refreshingly stress free.
Mhags - poor DD such a difficult thing to deal with at that age. DS school has had two deaths this year, though niether were friends of his. One took his own life, the other was asthma :(
    DD - enjoy Krakow.
CCP - glad you are feeling better. Sometimes just the "doing something about it" can improve things
BoP - have a good one, some friends are off to Cumbria to cycle the coast to coast
LFS - short and sweet, literally with chocolate fudge brownies
Kittikins - see, we told you someone would want you - good luck! :D
SuperS - Another short but sweet. Glad you are more relaxed
Giddy - Have you read Tuesday's with Morrie? A fab read.
Frith - DD had her driving lesson in that storm, freaked her out a bit.
Sparrer - I am so jealous of you and Frith finding such great stuff in CS. I am going today with a wally trolley full, wonder if i'll find anything.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. Really 1 - 100, DD and i went to the NT live "Curious incident" at our local cinema. it is about an autistic boy During the break DD said "that was a bit close to home at times". And so THE talk about Aspergers happened in the cinema, just before exams - not after them at home, as I had planned. :rotfl: Whose signature was about "Man plans and god laughs"? Anyway, it's all fine, she's known for years apparently and didn't realise she hadn't told us. :cool: we came home and she told OH and he's fine. so pleasure
    1. is the film / play - which is bl00dy brilliant and i recommend to anyone and
    2. is the Aspergers thing. Such a relief. I told her i thought it was an "ability" rather than "a disability" for her - she agrees
    3. A good day at work, my name is still in the frame for overseas link tutor for Hong Kong and Singapore. OH said go for it.
    4. good walks to and from station - 70 minutes walking yesterday. Which as it was a fast day i damn nearly burnt off more than i ate
    5. Lost 3 lbs since last time I weighed :T which is an overall 5lb loss since starting the 5:2:j and it's getting easier

Have a great day all. Happy hols to anyone who is going. I am looking forward to not going.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

vjsmum glad that all went better than you had ever thought.

Well Friday evening here, no bank holidays for us....next one is an a couple of weeks for the queens birthday ( hmmm...guess who will be working again!) anyway....today has been a rather gentle day which I felt I needed after a busy week at work.

Up early as per usual and phoned a friend from home. Not chatted for a couple of months so had plenty to catch up with.

DD2 came downstairs and said she didn't feel well, she'd been sent home from school yesterday so she had a pyjama day, glad I was off.

Fruit and veg wars...I think are being won by the customer! Today 5kg of spuds for $1.99, big bunch of rhubarb for 99cents in the new one and then a basket of fruit and veg for a dollar in the old shop....in this 7 pears, 3 apples, 1 turnip, 1 lemon, 4 tangerines and some ? Leafy veg, not sure what it is. ( it is however all chopped up and about to go in an omelette when OH gets in! )
So apples and pears are in the oven in a crumble, the lemon has been squeezed and the juice is in the freezer, the rhubarb has been chopped up and in the freezer and the turnip will go in a pot of soup sometime soon!

I cleaned the fridge and food cupboards. I have not hoovered or cleaned bathrooms! I did sweep porches and the driveway though :)

Wandered up the main Street. Paid the physio , who didn't have change the other day , bought stamps, posted letters, had a mooch through op shop and bought a nice top for my holidays ( 5 weeks to go) and then bought 2 cakes from the bakers ....as I was laden down on both arms/ shoulders carrying all my fruit and veg ,I just carried the 2 paper bags from bakers. We have a nursery nearby and the kids were being taken out on a walk. The leader called across "look children , the lady has very healthy food in her bag" ... I thought she was being cheeky and talking about my cakes, " look at all that rhubarb children" ...ah yes the rhubarb , not the cakes!

    Little snoozette.

Had a call on house phone ( no one ever phones us!) ....a lady called Jennifer was calling me to tell me my computer had been hacked and if I would just switch it on she would fix it for me.....I kept her going for a while ( I had an audience of DDs and friends) then told her I didn't have a computer...well put your laptop on then ....don't have one....madam you are wasting my time , said Jennifer.....no Jennifer you are wasting mine!

Right I'm off to have some crumble and cream. Have a lovely bank holiday :)

Edna's and Greeks were in the hostelry last eve. I think Edna left her teet at home, because she had a milk shake. There buses turned up thistle whisk them off later this morn, but there was a scramble at breakfast for the egg! Just thought of SPARRA and CCP for these two. I think they headed northwards this morning, so of you're above Cumbria, they could be coming to you.

Last night, Jimmy Shand had the barebones out. He was like Marvin, the paranoid android. Loads of echo, and complaining about everything and as funny as a chocolate fireguard. Tries telling BoPsie, but she said, I doubt he would have Bodies by the Sex Pistols. Still Edna came out with here wine glass. It was full, and while your BoP had a wobbleade, she slowly drank it. After three wobbles and ades, Edna finished her glass of water and retired. The plates were safe.

Anyway, trying something different today and I am a little chuffed with it. Any prize for guessing where BoP is. No, and it is not the bar!

    1) Woke up this morning to find that Isis had been ill overnight (I swear that cat's trying to give me a nervous breakdown :(), and the nice vet has managed to fit her in for a check-up tomorrow morning, before they close for the Bank Holiday weekend.

    2) Another competition win, this time the latest book in a series I love which is so new it hasn't been released in the UK yet. :j

    3) Found several competitions which weren't on the comps board and posted them, hopefully returning the favour for someone.

    4) First essay is finished and just needing a final read-through tomorrow before I submit it. :j Then I'll start on the next one... :(

    5) Isis looking much better (it's the making of the vet appointment that does it, I think) and playing so enthusiastically with her ball that she ended up upside-down, with her tongue sticking out. :rotfl:
Back after a very long break!

    Evening everyone :hello:

Kittikins - so, tell us more! :)

Manic couple of days, but it's half term now. Thank GOODNESS! I'm so, so tired!

    Pleasures for yesterday and today:

    1) NSD yesterday

    2) Took 4 children in my class to a tennis tournament today. They started playing in February in school - other children in the tournament played 3 times a week. However, they really tried well.

    3) My running vest has arrived for Spinal Research for when I run. Yay! Got to write my name on it just so that I can be recognised. Hmmm, probably when I run and not when I'm pacing the streets!

    4) Watched Gogglebox. Absolutely hilarious.

    5) Printed off a voucher for Sunday's lunch with a friend!

    6) Bed. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hmmm, the school (actually, just the Head) was horrible! I will definitely not be applying to work there!

    1. I PASSED MY FINAL UNI ASSIGNMENT! Yup, the Latin one :)

    2. Uni library - and I've been given a form that I'll need to get a tutor to sign to hopefully give me continued borrowing access over the summer holidays.

    3. I managed to get out of the horrible school without being rude to the incredibly nasty woman!

    4. A chum at uni told me about a probable job coming up at her placement school. Just have to keep looking out for it.

    5. Had a fab skype chat with a chum tonight

VJsmum - glad that talk went well. :-)

KK - no, perhaps don't work at that school!

VickyA - glad half term has started for you. (and for us as well!)

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Somehow getting sons to school at the earliest possible time allowed for dropping off.

    2) Getting to the election count for 8.45 :-/ Goodness knows why as it didn't start til 9.30 and we were just sitting around!

    3) Ended up sitting with someone I worked with in the council YEARS ago.

    4) We kept our patience with the swine of a man standing in front of us "checking" what we were doing. Complaining about the time it was taking, the organisation of the whole thing (as though we were responsible for that!), that he couldn't see his votes building up. Amazed to find out he was the candidate and horrified when he won. :-/ (Guess which party......)

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother through torrential rain.

    6) Just been in to check on sons and they are both asleep. Opened the curtains on smaller son's bunk (he has a sort of 4 poster arrangement) and he is lying on his side with cat 3 in his arms. She opened her eyes, looked at me and did a bit of purring. :-) She definitely loves him the most and, if allowed in his bed, will stay in there til morning and barely move.

    7) Enjoyed watching Gogglebox earlier and am now in bed and will watch HIGNFY. Then might listen to the Now Show.
