5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

KK - so glad you have a decent teacher/mentor now!
Happy birthday, McC.
Best wishes to Grandad of LolaRosa.
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son is changing all the time. This morning, we got to school early for SATs club and I had to stay in the car so he could walk up by himself! That was a first. :-)
3) Worked and worked........ I'm sure it was the longest postal vote organising day in history. We don't have breaks as such so you are reading/moving papers/counting and checking ALL THE TIME. So 10am - 4.15 was quite enough! They have such a backlog; in previous years they've never had to keep people after about 2pm!
4) My brother picked sons up from school for me (another first!) so I popped to mum and dad's to pick them up.
5) Mum had bought me a sage plant for the allotment.
6) Quick tea of HM wedges, pizza and carrots.
7) Watching the Masterchef final.
8) Smaller son said the SATs today were OK.
9) Chatted to my sister on the phone.0 -
Welcome White Rose, fabulous weightloss (what's your secret, please don't tell me I have to give up cake in the staff room
).
But yes, being prepared to say no to nice things most of the time is a biggie because when I stop and think about it, the things I yearn for aren't that impressive after all. It's the wanting it that can drive you bananas.0 -
KK any news on what they wanted?
White Rose: Welcome
For yesterday
Horrendous journey in, I spent a few mins at lunch claiming back on the delay repay scheme thou.:D
There was a seat available on the way home so I engrossed in the kindle.
Walked around checking on the seeds and flowers.
For Today
Kindle book finished ploughing through this series thanks to the trains..:p
Lots of texts staying in touch today, which was nice to chill while working.
Simple food as the pilates class was following
Pilates was good, and feeling results:cool:0 -
Good evening everyone :hello:
Kittikins - I'm so delighted that you've got a decent mentor at long last! :j :j
I've been AWOL again for the last few days as we've had a visit from HMI. It's a follow up to our Ofsted to ensure we're on the right tracks progress-wise because we're "Requires Improvement" (formerly Satisfactory!!). As I pointed out to the Chair of Governors this morning, my feet haven't touched the ground since our HT took over in Sept so we're definitely going in the right direction.
So, my pleasures cover the past few days:
1) Hair cut tonight. My hairdresser is great and he makes good coffee.
2) My new teaching student started today. He was born in 1994; surely that's under age and it's actually classed as child labour? No?
3) Thank heavens for yellow sticker food in the freezer, ready for a week like this!
4) Lurgy has been back in a different form. Cold is just about gone, but I've been feeling soooooooooooooo exhausted. Spoke to a colleague about it today and it seems as though there's a virus going around. However, I feel a little brighter today, but DH is ensuring I have lemsip.
5) If you love cats, then you'll love this video clip. Feel sorry for the boy, obviously, but victory to the cat!
6) Cashback payable from TopCashBack! :j Duly added to my savings pot.
7) 2 red kites spotted circling our playground. All children are safe...
8) Erm, I've missed you all. Posting on here keeps me on track.

pirate Pete hope jenny gets on just fine ❤️
So it's Thursday evening, I've just eaten a delicious chilli I made this morning, all I had to do was reheat and put on some rice to cook. Stuffed!
Then just managed a freebie from work cake!
Very windy today but beautifully sunny...re swept the drive this evening .as I was weeping more kept on falling!
Received a $10 voucher from supermarket, thank you!
Had a nice chat with a man who is originally from my neck of the woods back home. He moved out here in 1980.... Then said but I probably wasn't even born then! ( ...well only just!)
Have a lovely Thursday0 -
Glad Jenny keeps on keeping on, BoP
VickyA - I know how you feel with youthful teaching assistant. The trouble with teaching is that you get older and they stay the students stay the same age. When I started I wasn't old enough to be their mother - I am probably older than most of their mothers now
Glad to see new peeps posting
A quick five from me before I face my day
1 cleaner came - I will never grow tired of this pleasure
2 fish pie for tea. Haven't made one in an age as they are so fattening. 5:2 makes this possible as fasting today
3 DS team won 6-5 against a team a league and a half higher than them. They are now in the cup final on Sunday :T. I didn't go thoughwish I had. They always lose when I go, so don't know if I should go on Sunday or not
4 OH is going to give 5:2 a go. He really needs to lose several stone and I think this will be the best way for him, I hope he sticks it. It was part of the reason I started, hoping he'd try it
5 clean sheets - truly an OS pleasure.
Have a great day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Jenny is OK.

Beat On!
BoPsie has been distraught today. Raffles is AWOL. Missing, Gone, Newting. I got home pre Jenny test, and she was too fizzy on her feet.
5 Had Sausage and squirty egg banjo on Flagstone bread. You want some?
4 In W8rz, got barguns. 2 for £4 snorkers, 99P each. Bagged and fridged. Ready for that SpagYetti on Satdi.
3 Found nother bargun, cat treat sticksd, 7 pack, but on touch, one pouch had two sticks in it. Now I hear yous all say, yep. BoPsie was beside herself. What ifs Raffles does not come home. Excused BoPsie the usual rule of thumb. He'lkl be home when hungry. Besides, he probably got in neighbours shed, as he bikes on Wednesdays. We'll just get one lot of cat food then!
2 Got free parking at the Hospital, down side road. Rip off Cheltscum.
1 Butter their paws
And the news yous all wanting to knows. Got home, he is behind the gate. BoPsei current giving maximum cuddles to Raffles. Raffl;es is unresponsive as usual.0 -
Poor Bopsie, Raffles does like to scare her, doesn't he!?
1. Sunshine
2. Had a funny chat with my lovely TA about how the choccy bar I gave her would have zero calories because (a) it was a gift (b) she also had a glass of water, so the calories cancelled each other out (c) it was a bar with 4 fingers, and breaking the fingers apart lets the calories slip out
3. Yummy leftovers for lunch, nomnomnom.
4. Lovely chat with the Head after school.
5. Listened to disney tunes whilst marking in the classroom0
