Quick pleasures as I seem to have left all my jobs til now!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Breakfast at mum and dad's. Which was odd, but tasty.

    3) The man from the village hall committee came round to tell us forensics had been and to thank sons again for letting me/him know about the break in.

    4) Went to the allotment. Not too weedy so fiddled around and did watering of the greenhouse stuff. There was no one there at all so took the opportunity to walk all the way round (big site) and see what everyone else is planting!

    5) Went to Sainsburys and got lots of YS stuff. For some reason, 59p seems to be the price of the day so I got lots of things for that including asparagus, punnets of blueberries (I have them in my PORRIDGE), grapes and missisippi mud pie.

    6) I was wondering round Sainsburys remembering how I used to go to the one in Notts when I was at Uni on a Sunday afternoon (feels like Sunday today). And there, getting some bananas, was my uni housemate!!!!!! So I had a chat with him.

    7) Asparagus for tea with melted butter and a lovely YS bread roll. :-)

    8) Watching Bear Grylls island programme with bigger son and smaller son happy in bed with the ipod and cat3.

    Evening everyone :hello:

A lovely couple of days with friends. Thank goodness for a four day week at work. ;)

    So, my pleasures:

    1) Long walks yesterday and today. My legs aren't too achey, so this is good!

    2) Started to read A P McCoy's autobiography yesterday, 4th May, only to discover that he was born on 4th May 1974. I said a silent "Happy 40th birthday, AP!"

    3) Credit card bill paid.

    4) Watching Cordon meets Barlow. Ultra large, lovely sigh! :D

    5) Seem to be coming down with sniffles. Need to knock it on the head, otherwise I'll be unable to train properly for my 10k run. Less than 3 weeks to go!

    Night all x

Sorry to hear about 'd' PK
Well done doggikins and DD, Kittikins :T. I love the sound of your 'sunkissed face'
Frith what a coincidence meeting your old uni housemate, love it when things like that happen

    1. mowed the lawn, changed all the pots around as some of the plants are getting in the way of the washing line. It was a bit like moving furniture around, fun to see where it all looked best
    2. Yellow thing all day so
3 I put the machine on economy with the shortest spin as it was beautifully warm and breezy, got everything dry by mid afternoon
    4. nsd/npd
    5. booked and paid for a flight for a friend and got nectar points. She'll pay me back over the next few weeks so we can go on holiday together. Croatia 4 weeks tomorrow :j
    6. had a beautiful complement from someone who said 'you're such a special person sparrer, you always have time to do things for people. No wonder everyone loves you' :o. Felt something in my eye and a lump in my throat :o. I just live by the 'pay it forward' principle.

    Sweet dreams :)

Yay! Masterchef has started again....so that's me sorted for the next 3 months!

Work was workety today! New girl trialled , bumphergums was bumping those gums today...stayed out her way!

    Paid :)

Home on a very overcrowded train ( quite dangerously so I thought...the one I normally get had been canceled) with bags of leftover food, so dinner sorted and lunches sorted for tomorrow :)

Everyone is in for the night, curtains closed and heating on it is cold and pouring with rain outside.

    Have a happy Tuesday :)

    Hi all

Frith - I was wandering round a video store (remember those???) years ago when I bumped into an old uni housemate. We had both moved to the same city nearly 100 miles away from Uni.

Pleasures for the last few days

1 Had a lovely time, catching up with sleep and sorting the house out as well as catching up marking. OH and DS were at the railway all weekend. DD and I were rather like housemates.
    2. DD in her last ever play as a "child" - it was a fab production. A little bittersweet not to be chasing round after rehearsals and performances though
    3. went out for lunch with DD, best friend and loads of her family who I know from old. My best friend moved up here from our home town and now lives half a mile away - we have been friends since we were 12. Not a coincidence - she needed a fresh start after a break up so came to the "Big Smoke" as I was there at University. A safe new start. I showed them all my Rijksmuseum picture - which caused a small stir
    4. loads of washing dried
    5. and ironed watching an old episode of Sherlock
    6. Back in work today, but got loads done
    7. Walked to and from station, so that's one of my "three lots of exercise a week" done
    8. OH is mowing the lawn - love that smell
    9. Prawns and pasta for tea, with chilli and garlic. YUM
    10 Errmmmmm - dunno - I'll save it

    Have a lovely evening all

    4.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. I'm an excited Kittikins tonight: I applied for a job just before the cut-off this morning, and by lunchtime, had had a call asking me for interview on Thursday morning! :) I've just to work out what the heck to teach.....

    2. Lovely first day of placement; the kids are sooo cute :)

    3. Sunshine - the playground is a sun trap! (and I've been told it's okay to wear sandals, at my own risk from being trodden on, yay :) )

    4. Cake - as it was one of the Year 5's birthdays and her mummy had made enough cake for all the children, staff and parents who were picking up after school, nomnom.

    5. NSD.

    6. Slightly melted, ok very melted, chocolate on the way home in my car :)

    1) after 15 years in scotland i have solved how to dry my washing on the line - put it out regardless and bring in when dry. Saturday's washing has just come in :rotfl:
    2) cos i'm back on the slimming world diet saved 2 biscuits given to me by boss on return from trip to canada last friday. Put them in my treats tin where the tunnocks snowball had previously resided. Ate one today - lish and didnt go raid the chocolate machine
    3) cat has been shaved. Also had ingrowing toenail removed. He purred all the way home
    4) more bean stew for tea. Just one portion left (well done on the food haul mhags
    5) have vaccumed downstairs (a surfeit of dog hair), brought in the laundry, washed up and tidied the kitchen. Now decluttering old magazines by making sure i've read every last word. Lovely way to end the day. Will walk the dogs at 9:30 then off to bed with a large mug of rosie
