  • Let’s get ready to Nimble

I am afraid it is looking increasingly likely that the mariners will not be at Wembley this year. Now, the Stonebow in Lincoln was a line in the sand. Those wallahs from Scampton were not allowed to cross. Even if they did have something about after me, some flood. Still they were not allowed below the Stonebow. The Cheltenham Arms was a kind of meeting grind. Then we see the streets, cleaned up after the mess. But you get out of life, what you put in. And just take what you need.

Five Great Crested Newts have be destroyed, for the loss of only one bit of fluff. Our local organisation that is ignorant of people had better hurry up and count the newts, it their so called ancient pond, but actually a site of dereliction after Dr Beeching, otherwise, Raffles will have had the lot. Stop post. Raffles can distinguish between the front door opening and the need for getting over the side gate from his flap quickly to retrieve his latest delicacy. As BoPsie puts the latest Great Crested Newt out, he is there to plunder.

PM 4 DD. Bye! Don’t be long in coming back down!

3 Just love our water cousins, them from the US of the A. We had meet this morn with some of them from Texas. Great lads, but they do not like their northern neighbours. Must be a North thing. Any how, I always put CoP for the end of the session, and we got down through the usual tripe, and AoB. Then this Texan says, we have not discussed this cop item yet!! They do not understand a chain, willow and leather. Think I will put in the word stumps next time.

2 You see, now we used to have them come over from Fort Worth, every 2 years to our place. The Air National Guard They had an affiliation with Lincolnshire, from the war. Always banter, plenty of proper steaks and you could not give away their beer. Just as they did in 1918. Without them, we would not, could not have won.

1 What you need, not what you want.

Oh, and as for the Dog. We did win a competition once against that lot from Scampton. And as a trophy, we took the …

As for the wallah, he puuled the punka. The same punka you have in your car, the punka louvre

Sparrer - just laughed out loud at your post! Brilliant :)

    1. Went for a 'quick visit' to my new placement school - and ended up being there til gone 2pm! :) The teachers and TAs are all very friendly and welcoming :)

    2. My new class is soooo cute! I will have my work cut out with some of them, as I will have a variety of children with SEN, EAL, boisterous twins etc etc, but I met them and was cuddled, told I was pretty, asked if I was the teacher's mummy (blimey, maybe I should start dying my hair again?!), been promised a pretty picture of lots of flowers and watched a bit of their maypole dancing :) )

    3. Found free internet in the next village so stopped off on my way and finished off my applications for 2 jobs just before the deadline!!

    4. One of the schools I visited emailed me to remind me that as at 2 hours before the deadline, I hadn't applied for the job - hope that's a good sign that they liked me when I went to visit! I was touched and thankfully did get my application in on time :)

    5. A private school I'd love to work at (not the girls' school, but a boys' one) has a vacancy. I've emailed and got the application form already :) Not sure I'll be up to their standard but there's no harm in applying, is there?!

    6. Got home just before DD - yay, lots of cuddles :)

    7. Yippee - it's the weekend!! and a nice long one too :):)

    1) I had sausages for dinner last night, and deliberately cooked a couple extra so I could have sausages for breakfast, too.

    2) Another quiet day at work (I seem to be saying that a lot lately :undecided) so I caught up on the comps board, at least temporarily - at this time of the month comps get added as quickly as I can enter them.

    3) Found a competition that no-one else had found so got to post it on the board. :D

    4) A colleague who lives in Southampton letting me know that there will be problems on the roads tomorrow, so I'll get the train to my last OU tutorial instead.

    5) Long weekend ahead, although I'm going to have to spend at least some of it working on an essay as I've got two to write by the end of the month.
Back after a very long break!
  • CCP. They are called SNORKERS here al!

    Good evening everyone :hello:

sparrer - LOVED the conversation between God and St Francis. The message is uncomfortably true.

kittikins - go for it! Apply for where ever you'd feel comfortable teaching. When I was looking for my first job, I went to one school where 20 of us were herded around at the same time. Never applied for that as I didn't feel as though I was an individual to them, just a "body".

    So, my pleasures for today:

    1) Planning for next week finished! :j :j Ok, so it wasn't such a hardship as it's a short week AND we're involved in an art project on one of the days in our local town. Creating a trail for visitors to follow.

    2) Took my [STRIKE]cherubs[/STRIKE] class to Cadbury World today. They LOVED it, I mean REALLY loved it. One of them managed to drip chocolate down their front. Thankfully, I've handed them back to their parents for 3 days. :rotfl:

    3) Found a local parkrun. I can't go tomorrow, but I am hoping to go another week.

    4) Looking forward to visiting Jimmy's Farm with friends tomorrow. :j :j

    5) Mr T's Finest pizza for supper. It was quick and lovely, especially after a day of looking after my class.

    6) Waiting for Graham Norton. Saw the trailer and desperately want to watch it before going to bed! mmmm, Hugh Jackman. :D

Well, the school that emailed me asking if I was going to be applying must have liked me on my tour as I've just opened an email inviting me for interview next Wednesday!!

It was the school I liked yesterday (rather than the one I really liked that was a bit smaller), but was a bit daunted by being shown around with another candidate from my uni who I know vaguely but feel that she's bound to be 'far more intelligent' and so 'more likely to get a job' than me (yup, self-deprecating again.....*sigh*).

So now I have to plan either a literacy lesson or a PHSE lesson - I'm thinking the latter.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons happy at school. Smaller son has been in mainstream all the time since Monday. He said today there had been a whole school assembly (he hasn't been to assembly for about 4 years). I asked how he got on and he said "Oh, I just wandered around school - no one noticed!". He's a bit perplexed as to why he's been given an extra 15 minutes for each SATs paper like his friend (who has cerebral palsy).

    3) Spent the morning in hospital. Saw the consultant who said "Oh, that looks nasty. Never mind". :-/ Then I drove home again!

    4) Spoke to the local council about MrN's fence (still in the wrong place!) They said speak to the CAB so I did and I have an appointment with them next week.

    5) Posted stuff off to Ebay purchasers.

    6) Turkey bap from village butcher for lunch.

    7) Took smaller son to see the GP. He has been going every week or so for 6 weeks in the hope he might be able to speak to him (or stay in the room). I got to have my blood pressure taken today to show that was painless!

    8) Nice stirfry for tea.

    9) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    10) Brother in law is going to come over tomorrow and have a word with smaller son as he had to have the same operation that is waiting for smaller son (when I can get him to agree).

    11) Had treacle tart and custard after swimming and MrN's son5 had some too.

    12) Just been up to check on sons and smaller son is asleep in his own bed (this is a new thing this week!) with his Cars duvet cover over him (&) and new cat curled up asleep next to him. :-)

bop the only way is up (who sang that? Mind you alan parsons project sang 'what goes up must come down ' :-(
    1) lunch was pasta bol heated up in microwave at work
    2) boss brought in nice maple leaf biscuits. Have put mine in my treat box for next week
    3) somone posted this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHvExOg4NI0 just call me cooper!
    4) wrote solidly from 4:30 to 8:30 minus archers break where i heated other half of my pasta bol for supper. Everyone else left at 5. It was bliss and i now have 2000 words for my chapter.
    5) caught the bus down to fellow ceilidh band member's work retirement do. Another band member and his wife were there - havent seen them for a while and had a lovely blether, 1.5 pints dry cider (hence not eating biscuit earlier - determined to lose this spare tyre!) then lift home. As we were walking by the river to the car a train came over the bridge. I still get excited. At night you cant see the bridge, just a train magically suspended. An mse os pleasure at its best
