Good Evening!
Muppet just remember that we are here for you through thick and thin! Fingers crossed it will all be ok, they tend to err on the side of caution.
Ollie how awful to lose a big long post!
To everyone else I hope you have had a lovely day and to those that haven't I send you huge hugs!
Today I:
1. Enjoyed a delicious lunch made by OH
2. Got through a big work event (phew)
3. Snaffled two gingerbread men from sainsburys
4. Grabbed a quick chat with my dad
5. Now I am waiting on the bath running, bliss
So excited about DH coming home, I still get butterflies every evening and that is after 7 years! I do love thinking about the little things that make me happy!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
Hi All
Mine for today are:
1 Dh buying the new call of duty game then realising he could have got it cheaper so took it back and got it cheaper!!! Yay!!! He is learning
2 Dh getting a few bits of shopping for me so I dont have to drag 3 ill kids round supermarket and he stuck to the list I gave him - another yay for him
3 Had a woopie tea of st clement chicken which was lovely (been in freezer for a while as I was a bit worried that I would like it) and everyone liked it again!
4 Having enough chicken left for my lunch for the rest of the week.
5 Relaxing now, not even going to bother putting the toys away as kids wont be at school tomorrow so no point in clearing up just for a few hours!
Thats about it for today!!0 -
Muppet - sorry to hear your worrying news. Its good that they are investigating carefully and I hope it turns out to be nothing too serious.
5 for today:
1) Working in school all day (as a helper) and watching little son do rather well with his writing this afternoon.
2) Getting an email from my solicitor full of enraged exclamation marks! I think she is getting the measure of my ex and getting irritated by his cheekiness (he's accused me of keeping t shirts that he bought the boys now). We shall be back in court Thursday next week (not about the T shirts, sadly!)
3) Making twink's hob nobs. They weren't quite right and I think its because I only ever buy butter so I didn't have any marg. They had a bit of a ghee/overcooked butter taste which marg perhaps wouldn't have had.
4) Sitting in a row in my bed so we (2 sons and me) could watch James May's programme about Meccano on the iplayer and all keep warm.
5) Grumpy cat actually deciding to come in for some fuss! I got her just over 2 years ago as a kitten and she is a farm cat through and through (I had to catch her from between some bales!) She had 4 kittens before I had chance to get her "done" and we kept one of those. Of course the kitten was born in the living room and has been mauled about by small boys all her life and I'm sure she thinks she is another boy as she sleeps on their beds (or in their beds!) and will sit on the bathmat looking adoringly at them while they play in the bath!
Anyway, grumpy cat lives outside and generally you just see a flash of brown as she runs away! But she sat on my knee this evening although she was still very tense. (Random fact - she has an extra toe on each back foot and TWO extra toes on each front foot!)

Hello All - I hope you've all had a good day.
My list for today:
1. Polishing windows and picture frames and seeing how much brighter the house looked.
2. Having a chat with a lady who runs batik workshops about booking DH up for his Christmas present.
3. Going to parents' evening for my boys - and hearing wonderful things from delighted teachers. DS1 in particular hasn't always had a happy time at school - hence a drastic school move a year ago - but he seems so happy these days.
4. Coming home and asking aforementioned son if he's happy this term. He's not the sort to express things like that - but agreed that he is very happy at school and it's been his best year 'ever' - even including pre-school and his relatively carefree reception year at his last school.
5. Putting a casserole in the over before I went out to school (being redundant has its positive aspects). Tasty - and best of all enough for a freezer portion for DH another evening.
I'll defer judgement on the joy of finally having a dishwasher again til I'm convinced that it's fitted correctly and is working well.
Well I was going to head off to bed but a programme has just started on BBC1 which will make me appreciate my own life a great deal more.
Sleep tight all.0 -
Good evening everybody - after finally managing to get the place warmed up, the heating has now gone off and it's cooling down again. Signal for me to head for bed shortly
.
honey - yup - I got the dirty looks, while DD got to do the cuddles and gave chocolate buttons to cheer them up again - typical. Fortunately, they're still speaking to me after all
.
SunnyGirl - good to hear your dad's doing well after his problems earlier this year.
Caterina - I hope you're going to take some photos of your blind when it's finished.
yummyhoney - lol at your ds - he must be hoping for a little playmate.
Rummer - lovely to hear that you and OH are still like a pair of love-birds after 7yrs.
nuttybabe - well done to your OH - he's learning.
ACEY - one day you'll look back on all this 'OH and Court stuff' and have a darn good laugh. I cried for a couple of years when my ex-OH kept pulling stunts on me with courts/solicitors etc - eventually it does all die down. I stuck a photo of him on a cushion and kicked it all around my living room while shouting obscenities at him - didn't half make me feel good. lol at grumpy cat
scotrae - good to hear that your ds's are going well at their school.
1. I'm afraid I've had a lazy day in work - did the absolute necessary and no more.
2. Toast/marmalade and porridge for breakfast; hot buttered crumpets for lunch; Spicy Pumpkin Soup for evening meal. Definitely needed warming comfort food today.
3. Baked a batch of Twinks this evening - so the cookie jar is filled again (for now).
Got a bit of a headache so I'm heading for bed now - hope I'm not 'sickening' for something. Nitey nite - love Ollie xxx0 -
Hope you stay well Ollie and (((((big hugs))))) to you too Muppet.
It's been a busy day and it's not over yet, but the kettle's on to make my hottie ready for bed. My five for today are:
1. Getting this week's veggiebox and knowing I had a £10 discount on it
2. Making double portions of a late lunch. My plan is to get enough freezer meals to allow us completely to eat out of the freezer every 4 weeks or so.
3. Making soup in the slow cooker and leaving it on for five hours while we went out this evening. When we came back I could just whizz it up and late supper was ready. I only ever use the SC when we are in and near the house and hadn't ever left it this long before. Needless to say the house hadn't burnt down. Might try this again!
4. DS1 has been a star at a presentation this evening. I am really proud of him.
5. Finding a nearly new secondhand book with lovely Victorian boxes to pop out and assemble for my neice's Christmas prezzie.
Sweet dreams

(((hugs))) to Muppet. I hope everything gets sorted for you soon with the best of outcomes.
Ollie - it sounds like you could do with some good luck, hon (((hugs))) May something randomly wonderful happen for you.
Ok, so I'm down with a cold and determined not to feel bad about not going in. Here are my OS blessings for the last few days:
1) The weekly food shop not costing as much as usual, even though we seemed to buy more.
2) A free hand cream on the front of a magazine that is really nice.
3) Finding out Dr Who is back on TV soon.
4) Getting another column of my cross stitch done and working out it should only take me another 8 weeks to finish.
5) Soft tissues compared to the Value ones I bought for my desk at work!
Have a good day, everyone.

Morning all, my 5 for today are.
1. Buy a new iron, an use it. Will find bottom of ironing basket by tonight.
2. Baking Natter bars, new recipe posted by Patchwork. Let you know how i get on
3. Quick clean of flat. Big thanks again to flylady for sorting me out.:A
4. Visit to library while out today. Looking for new cookery book to browse.:money:
5. Seeing all the ladies at my art class. Haven't made it for a few weeks, so lots of catching up to do.:j
Muppet your in my thoughts, you too Ollie. Big large hugs to all who need them. Have a good os day everyone.:wave:0 -
good morning all  - thank you for your concerns :T - still no signs of a cold (or anything else) landing on me at the moment. I've a feeling it was all down to a lack of fresh air/motivation yesterday. Need to kick my asre into gear this morning and get outdoors for a brisk walk - no matter what the weather is doing with itself. Feel a 'right fraud' when there are people around far worse off than me
.
Broomstick - wtg on graduating to 'Level II Slow Cooker User' - 'Leave it alone for a while' :T. Isn't it great when you get to the stage where you just KNOW that you can trust it to do it's own thing. First time I left mine all day, I was so worried that my OH asked me why I didn't phone home to ask it how it was getting on  (sarky git!).
Runnybunny- good for you on using your 'poorly time' to get on with your cross stitch work. I keep meaning to get a small project going for Christmas - just about got time. Hope you soon feel much better - that 'muzzy head/bugged-up' feeling is not nice
.
bunny too - specially for you -- hope you manage to find one reasonably priced! Good luck with the art class - are you working on anything specific at the moment?
My action plan for today:
1. Going for a shower in a minute - might wash the cobwebs away for the day.
2. Will dig out the sewing box and see what's in there to make something new for Christmas Decorations.
3. Need to get a couple of chicken portions out of the freezer to have for evening meal tonight - with oven chips, sweetcorn/peas.
4. Hide that jar of Twinks before DS1/DS2 arrive - their 'radar' will be working overtime because I baked last night.
5. Visit my 'other site' this afternoon and deliver some more leaflets about Energy Saving products.
6. Send OH out to get some printer ink - the printer hasn't worked for months!
Those should be good enough to sort me out for the day.
Hope everybody has a great OS/mse day and bigfor all - love Ollie xxx
