Good evening  - very cold here tonight - possibly due a frost brrrrrr!
Rummer - Well done on being child-free for a while and on the baking sessions .
nuttybabe - oooops- sorry about that
. Good to hear that you've got the problem sussed and sorted now - well done to your OH.
Patchwork - What a lovely way of spending Remembrance Day AND including the bf's mum in your family day.
saffouri - Well done on your day in London - sounds as though you all had a very beneficial time together.
Caterina - Sorry to hear you've been having such big problems with your home AND the neighbour. Fingers crossed for you that things get sorted asap.
billy858 - Hope your family have now 'straightened their faces'! Wtg you on your half-marathon success :j.
DitaBombita - How did your Oxtail Stew in the SC go today? We had that as well (served with mash and braised cabbage). Remainder now cooling down for the freezer PLUS lots of gravy and veggies left over for 'Oxtail and Veg Soup'.
Broomstick - congratulations on the 9hrs sleep - you must have really needed it. Hope you get to re-visit that lovely Holiday Cottage again one day.
savingforoz - Well done on keeping up the gym sessions.
mineallmine - You're so right - we do tend to take the NHS for granted and should appreciate the service much more than we do :T.
bella - Lovely family weekend you've had there.
BitsyBeans - sounds like you had a good weekend - eventually.
ACEY - We sat and watched Wizard of Oz as well - couldn't believe that dgs1(8) had never seen it before. Managed to persuade him to sit and watch it for a while - but he DOES have attention problems .
scotrae - well done to your ds's in church today - I know it's hard with children trying to keep them from being bored. My ds2 (about 2 or 3 at the time) used to go off crawling under the pews while I was holding dd (about 1 or 2) - you could tell where he was up to by people's heads suddenly looking down as he went past their ankles.
Mine for today are:
1. So much for having a baking session this afternoon. I got the phonecall for help from DD around 3.00pm  having another 'panic attack'. Stayed with her until her b/f arrived around 9.15pm. She's going to try to speak to her GP in the morning as she hasn't heard anything about the counselling that she posted a letter for.
2. Arrived back home around 9.30 to start cooking potatoes and cabbage. Was a bit late for eating really BUT that Oxtail was delicious. Two more portions for the freezer and a couple of portions of Oxtail and Veg Soup for lunches as well.
3. Phone call from cousin in US - had a great chat and caught up with all our family news.
4. Well my late evening meal has finally settled, so I'm going off to bed now as it's late and I've got work in the morning.
Nitey nite and sleep tight - God Bless - love Ollie xxx0 -

5) Spending lots of time looking at other peoples crafty blogs0 -
Hi all
Thank you all for kind words re. house, now I am just trusting the Universe that things will go as they are meant to be, enough action on that front!
Here are my five for the day:
1 - Porridge for breakfast, cooked on the woodstove overnight, as well as a pan of red lentils and barley for future consumption.
2 - Out with DS to buy him a warm winter jacket. He has very expensive tastes so we agreed that I would pay half and the remainder would come out of the money that his Italian granny sent him (via me) for Christmas. Deal done.
3 - Cup of tea and bread and jam in the park cafe with DS (expensive but worth the fact that I was able to spend a little quality time with him, a rarity these days).
4 - Bought all paraphernalia to complete my roman blinds project and discovered that the shop does a (very welcome) 10% to Greenwich Card holders - and I had my card with me!
5 - Planning Mexican dinner tonight for the family, DS has been begging for it for so long and is very happy that I have shopped for it now (tortillas with HM refried beans and HM salsa, soured cream, grated cheese, chopped lettuce, side dish tortilla chips covered with cheese and heated in the oven). I shall be able to eat only some of the stuff as I am still off dairy but it is going to be nice, healthy and quick. Was thinking of making HM tortillas but there are human limits to what I can do in one day!
Edited to say: 6 - Computer memory arrived today, now all I need is to collar one of my kids' geeky friends and blackmail them into installing it for me hehehe
Love to all
Caterina xxxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
My 5 for today are:
1. Delicious homemade chickpea and mushroom balti for evening meal.
2. Good session at the gym today including seeing some faces I'd not seen for a while.
3. My decorator starting the next phase of the ongoing decorating work.
4. Short day at work.
5. Finding out my lovely work colleague is pregnant again.
Hugs to you all xxx - yes, I know those are kisses not hugs, but you get the idea!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
What are the twinks hob nobs?! Is there a recipe anywhere for them?0
