  • 1. Hmm a sort of pleasure, the complaints letters I sent off this week sparked off phone calls today and an email which in a very round about convoluted way kind of giving us a proper offer at last.
    2. The start of the fence, concrete posts and big concrete wedges were delivered today but they are coming back Monday after they managed to pick up 3 items that snapped in half, but were ever so apologetic.
    3. I’ve just made an apple crumble from scratch so as not to waste any fruit
    4. DH came down very unwell last night, not a pleasure, he’s asleep on the sofa while I have set dinner cooking away in the oven for ages, nice to be able to look after him.
    5. Looking back over the week we have achieved a fair bit of house de cluttering and 2 tip runs done and the car is loaded up for another one, it’s also a bit scarey when I see how much is left to go.

Quick Isis update - she's now out of hiding, and definitely seems much (if not yet 100%) better. Such a relief!

    Ah, that's great news!

Thank goodness it's the end of the week! It's been another long one, but I have pleasures:

    1) Chicken tikka masala for supper using this recipe from BBC Good Food. Serves 10, so portions will be finding their way towards the freezer.

    2) Just realised that it's cake club on Monday  I seemed to think that it was in a week's time, but I got my dates mixed up. Good job I don't have a life otherwise. ;)

    3) Another 70p has become payable from TopCashback. :j Every little helps... (especially when you get money for shopping for stuff that you would buy normally anyway!)

    4) I have a long old list of things to do. REALLY must be motivated at some point to tick the little, rubbishy bits.

    5) Genuine OS pleasure - no need to put the alarm on for 6am tomorrow. I'll probably be awake by 6.30, but that's beside the point! ;)

    Night all x

Frith the greenhouse looks super. Can I just mention (I'm sure I'm teaching my grandmother to suck eggs) that when I had one, albeit much smaller, it took off in a gale and ended up at the far end of the garden, upending all the pots I had in it. It might be an idea to anchor it down firmly with 'u' shaped stakes or similar. You're going to enjoy your allotment, we'll all look forward to hearing its progress :)
tealady the green sounds so pretty in all its Spring dressing
DD rotten luck about Kurdistan, but no doubt you'll have some more exciting places to visit in the not too distant future
CCP you gotta love cats and their blooming independence! Well done on catching the dog, been there so I can understand how grateful the owner will have been
BB congrats on getting the book finished
kittikins yum to fish'n'chips, and hope you're enjoying your evening out
PK hope your DH feels better, I expect a little crumble will help :)
VickyA well done on the 70p. Hope you get a good lie-in tomorrow

    1. Woke to beautiful sunshine, even though it only lasted half an hour or so
    2. made a tray of dog biscuits, another of shortbread and a wm loaf
    3. nsd/npd
    4. Enjoyed a lazy afternoon reading then has a snooze
    5. Enjoying Hello Quo! while I give the dog a good brush

    Sweet dreams :)

    Wasn't it icy today?
Oh tealady!- you shall go the Ball.
Might I? Un de ces jours? Might leave it in Last Wishes for someone to fulfil...

kk - I'm back to being denied/triangle player manqu!e at Ngaio Bush Primary School 1953. I'll bring my own bash-it-with, puhleeeeze. Still irks. It was 'cos I put my hand up too eagerly....apparently.

BB- pimp on:-) Where may we read it?

lfs - today racks up full-term month 9 d-f and you have certainly delivered:-) Spare spb v.v.v. welcome here.

pk - 2 scrotty letters still to be done. They are cathartic things.

ccp - good Isis news. Are you sure it wasn't parfum de chien that got up her nose?

Yes, sparrer - so much for colour-co-ordination. Was berating self, perplexed at missing batten undersides when I looked this a.m., thinking 'Blast! can't finish last coat in this weather', then realised a whole lot more just wasn't there:eek: The rain must have been [a] heavy prolonged [c] driving. It's washed more than half of one side clean of green! ...and there's no sign left in the garden either.

    1. Right - marmalade turned off when I went w8r0sing. Just in, so back on - slight nose scenting through to here already. Sugar to add, BUT can't do 20 jars full until cheapo lemon curd, 22p@Mr T, is emptied from same [it'll go to our main Charity house demain] then the de-label/sterilise drag. I'll finish sometime before I next post....

    2. Ever Decreasing Circles on i-player. As good as ever, if not better.

    3. w8r0s rtc report - 2 smoked mackerel pât!, 25p each. organic rustique rolls 5p+promo=36p to & for buying them. 500g mushrooms 10p. Weighed the bogof pinova apples 'cos weight variation gave &1.9 k for £1.80. Some bags weighed as little as 505gms. 2 white choc.lime cream frosting cupcakes - YES, VERY NECESSARY - 10p. Ditto jonquils - 20p.

    4. Loved hearing Capital Gains last time round on i-player. It's back again and a :rotfl: gem. Didn't know of it pre i-player:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00kvr7b/episodes/guide
And there's still more Cabin Pressure to come:j.

5.:eek:I have missed The Archers: devotion to duty of a w8r0s kind, but heard a ? on Farming Today this morning[was up early to finish another 2 hrs of peel and ginger prep, vjm:D]: Did farmer person think Tony was Doing The Right Thing in returning to beef? NO! HE DID NOT!

    6. Only hint of yellow thing today was WI[not jam and Jeruslaem] cricket commentary, so it must be shining there... as did Albion ever not.

I am worried, under-statement, about Kiev/Ukraine/Crimea. Putin was kgb in utero and they do not change.

Hi ho, hi ho etc....into action song.

    5) Sent off my booking form for a learn to crochet day.

    6) Turkey bap from the butcher in the village for lunch.

    7) My brother popped round.

    8) Took sons to look at the greenhouse after school!

    9) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    10) Quick pasta tea.

Lost a lot. Righting, re-siting and re-potting took over a day.

Well... it has plastic bits that stick out from the sides that are weighed down with soil and big stones (you can see the stones in the photo). And there are 4 guy ropes. I'd quite like some sort of advanced tent pegs to peg the inner frame into the soil as well.

    Forgot another pleasure for today!

When we were in the greenhouse, smaller son wrote in the condensation "Your the best mom". I was enjoying reading that when he said, "That's not right!" and rubbed it out. Then he wrote, "You're the best mom". :-D

    Pleasures from me

    1. seems to have been a long week ....so glad its Friday!
    2. payday. :j
    3. Bacon buttie for brunch at work....
    4. ...and walk round to local in evening for cheap tea and shared a bottle of wine with a friend

    5. Police have said they will provide DS with safety glasses of his choosing for Specials :j:j:j This is the fantastic news we have been waiting for. :D

Originally they refused to take him due to his eye condition even though he met the eyesight regulations, but it just shows perseverance pays off!! The glasses he sourced are similar to those used by other forces and quite stylish, not the big plastic goggles you might imagine, and the force will pay for them :T

Hope everyone has a good weekend x

CCP hope you and Isis are able to relax ((hugs))

Ah yes, I see now, a much better design than the smaller version I bought previously, and very sensible to be able to bury it into the ground.

No commitments today so a nice lie-in planned. Muttley had other ideas, obviously didn't want me to miss the lovely yellow thing that was - note was - up above. So he went out to dig up the lawn, or as my DD explains dig out the moss ;), while I sulked until the kettle boiled. Amazing what a cuppa can do, have showered, dressed, done a few mins on the treadmill, breakfasted, the yellow thing is back and all is well in my little corner of the world :)
