mhags ouch re. Fees
digforv i am teaching a whole week of technology-enhanced learning. To save my voice and the students' sanity i want to intersperse with real life case studies ie examples of people doing innovative elearning stuff. So far i have a flu pandemic via twitter (public health), revising via text (urology) and medblogs (specialty-specific blogs using wordpres for ugs). Colleague and very good friend from central services also doing workshop with them on legalities and instructional design. Normally i'd have a deputy but we're 'between lecturers' but fortunatly i am surrounded by very generous and knowledgeable practitioners
Hugs to isis and all others in need
1) lovely weather again (though the gritters have been out in force brrr)
2) knitted square #11. Nearly a third of the way there
3) someone left a bag of crisps in the kitchen on the 'help yourself' tray. So i did :P
4) joined a knitting club (which is where i did 2). It's fortnightly 6-8 and everyone was lovely
5) have been invited to kurdistan. Trouble is it's on the tail of krakow so will need to see if polish host can do warsaw before rather than after conference. Have asked prof who invited me for more details so i can check it fits in with my strategy (which is obvs world domination mwahaha)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Busy at work, worked with a new to me girl ( as I don't normally do Friday / Saturday) and she was very nice .
Train home....free train in this morning , was still dark at 6.40am.
Me and my girls got all dressed up and went out for dinner, been ages since we've went to our local Thai restaurant . My boys are at a music festival...Christmas present tickets.
Nice to get back home, kick of shoes and we watched this weeks episode of Waterloo Road via YouTube.
Then even nicer to get Pjs on and into bed.

Afternoon
CCP - Hope Isis is better today
Pleasures for today posting early as out tonight with the girls for friends engagement party,
1. Walking past a small green around the corner from the house and the tree's have blossom on them plus surrounded by daffodils and snowdrops, very pretty
2. Bacon sandwich at work this morning, yummy plus had a piece of cake left over from the charity day we had earlier in the week (little piggy):o
3. My mum found some old family videos when sorting out so had them put on disk. One of them is of DD when she was is the SCBU - forgot how small she looked but she still looked very beautiful even with the drips and tubes. Loved looking at the emotion on my DM's face when she held her for the first time, my DF was too scared to hold her but has made up for it since. Also found one of DD's 2nd birthday that has a few people on it that are no longer with us but nice to be able to see them and smile at the happy memories.
4. Getting an outfit sorted to wear tonight and unearthing a pair of little worn IR shoes (Ampersand just for you http://www.schuh.co.uk/images/product/110601/1106019350_exlg.jpg)
5. Looking forward to night out with friends
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all, and very many thanks for all your kind wishes for Isis. Sadly I can't tell you exactly how she is at the moment, as she's firmly ensconced in her favourite hiding place (the wardrobe) and refuses to come out. She has been out last night and again today while I was at work, though, so I can be pretty sure that she's hiding because she's sulking about being taken to the vet rather than because she's ill!
1) Woke up about an hour after going to bed feeling ridiculously cold, but snuggling under the fleece throw from the sofa soon fixed that.
2) A brief stroke with Isis early this morning, until she remembered that she was supposed to be avoiding me and ran away again. :rotfl:
3) My amazing magnetic attractiveness to dogs finally proved useful this morning - a young dog escaped and was leading her poor owner a merry dance (good game!), but she came straight up to me for a fuss so I could grab her collar and hold her still until her owner could get there. And I got lots of doggy kisses in the process.
4) Got myself another £15 Amaz0n voucher for doing surveys. :money:
5) Chicken kiev for dinner. It's not the healthiest of things, but I love chicken kiev! :drool:Back after a very long break!0 -
I hope Isis is looking and feeling better soon CCP. Don't have any pets myself but I can imagine the worry that comes when they're poorly
Last Friday was a bit of a nightmare. Wrote an ebook and Friday was the day for me to format it and get it published. Naturally, being my first ebook, it all fell apart, nothing worked, I got very upset, overall not that great. On the plus side once I calmed down I managed to find two very good step-by-step guides so on Sunday I went through it all using them, and by Monday evening the book was up on Amazon! So I've mostly spent this week pimping it out XD
My OS Pleasures for the day (some for this whole week);
1. Really lovely comments from friends and family about the whole project. Looking forward to working on Part 2 now
2. Today was pay day so I've moved my money around, was able to chuck a bit more than expected in the ISA, which is always a positive.
3. Got very wet on the walk home from work (via M&S) so had a lovely hot shower when I got in.
4. Just sat down with a hot cup of tea and a piece of chocolate.
5. Finally got some time to sit down and start clearing out DVDs and books. Which then means I'll have enough space to buy some new ones :rotfl:
Have a lovely weekend everyone!0 -
Quick Isis update - she's now out of hiding, and definitely seems much (if not yet 100%) better. Such a relief!Back after a very long break!0
-
Hoorah, glad she's ventured out from the wardrobe CCP x
1. Woohoo, it's Friday
2. I think my lesson went well today.....but my teacher only talked about behaviour management stuff (one girl constantly calling out and being a bit of a pain), rather than the fact I was snappier with my intro so that the children could crack on with the writing task and actually managed to have a reasonable time for a plenary! Anyway, what's done is done.....
3. Had a look through what is laughingly called the 'music trolley' at school and have resolved to make instruments (somehow) with the children for our big performance! A couple of pairs of castanets, a few triangles with nothing to bash them with a random unusual banging instrument and a few xylophone bars do not an orchestra make.....although I did see about 30 guitars at the end of the PE cupboard. What a waste! Obviously a previous initiative which has fallen by the wayside....*sigh*
4. Going for a night out with my TA and a few of the ladies from the village, woohoo, Kittikins in night out shocker!!
5. Yummy fish and chips for lunch from the school canteen, nomnom.
6. Even nommier dhal at home for dinner0
