5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Scheming sky rockets and paper planes. One ponders, as we await the inevitable appearance on the streets, for the first time since Poland in 81, of the T-81s and those friendly Russians. Used to play a baddie dressed in orange, and Sevastopol - Odessa was the scene for the start of the third conflict!. The embers may smolder in Kiev, be careful the smoke does not drift too far south! Meanwhile Parliament discussed the inevitable issue of why holidays cost more when the kids are off school!
Another self-inflicted roof extraction this morning on the way to the salt mine. Nice flash motor, make unknown, probably of German existance,, slightly scratched on the other carriage, cabriolet style. Roof, nicely paced 20 feet behind. Originally not a convertible, now a write off.
OMG, we have a Kiwi. I have the minimum qualification to enter NZ, without a visa and stay. That is the only country in the world where you need a one way ticket. As for the entry criteria, it is to have broken at least two limbs before 30.
I am afraid, DD, that the mariners will have to await the city and CW sell off. That is if the man is interested. Those from the City of Sulphur, 2017, think they may get to Wembley. The big match there is Gylberdyke Old Centurions vs North Ferriby Town. Aye, mad as a hatter. Sparra gets 9 years. Gosh, come Wednesday me and BoPsie get 28'ish!!! Oh, our eyes thirst met! Cakes on Steps. Crumpled beds, or hospital corners!
5 Championi, Championi, Championi, and you know I is gloing to shout it from the roof tops. Just what an astounding finish, with reassigns, 7 letterer on a double treble. And we finished with warm crumpet with marmite, a glass of wobbleade and UC, tax free on the iPlayer.
4 Raffles is waiting for his owl, as he has just run off, or rather tried to, with all of BoPsie’s house keeping. A quick jump and the runcible spoon has bought him back to charm us all. A lesson there for Isis, I think. Last night, as I was victorious at Scrabble, Raffles was hearth rugged on the mat in front of our roaring fire. He remains abso lute lee fearless. He has now mastered the top of the fence.
3 Nice bit of pork pie with salad for tea last night. Today I have my now infamous claw sandwiches, with fruit salad. Fruit Salad as well, pineapple, melon and orange. That includes the pineapple we had bits off at the weekend with the Chikka Tikka. Just saw in the emporium, you can buy made up fruit salad for £2. Our pineapple melon are £2, and oranges as well all for £3. This makes 1 weeks fruit salad with oranges, then another batch of oranges for the next week. Two weeks fruit salad for £4. Or nitrogen ingested produced version for £2 a shot. No need to have a MSE lesson there.
2 Night is another session at the football ground. DD, the mariners are at Southport. I fear that the chairman may leave the bus there and the players will walk home!
1 Look into the mirror, and not smash the window.
Just as a walk down the high street in Sudbury, we should care those others who see fit to be different, just as the mannequins now have realist hair in the emporium knicker shop.0 -
1) Slept most of the way through the night, waking up only once before I was actually supposed to.
2) Called the council helpline as the communal bin for the flats I live in hadn't been emptied when it should have been and, by the time I got home, it had been done and all the stuff that had spilled out of the overflowing bin collected up and taken away. :T
3) Enough yellow stuff that I needed to close the blinds at work this afternoon as the sun was shining in my eyes and I couldn't see.
4) I wasn't in when a delivery driver came to deliver a parcel, so he called me and arranged to come back this evening. :T (It's hardly his fault that knocking at the door has frightened Isis back into hiding, and I haven't seen her since.Isis definitely needs some of Raffles' self-confidence!)
5) Making bacon, lentil and tomato soup, for tonight's dinner and tomorrow's lunch. :drool:Back after a very long break!0 -
Sparrer: Happy Anniversary,
and many more.
Seconded, where’s Chicken?
Mchags, can I be your friend, what a lovely thing to do.
1. Only just in but working at home tomorrow.:D
2. Spent lunch time in the sun, in a park lovely.
3. More bread and milk is needed so need to pop out just after writing this.
4. The stroppy animal greeting of your late but ohh ok.
5. Enjoying catching up on everyone’s pleasures.:)0 -
Kitty Isis, come out, come out wherever you are little one xx
Sparrer, hugs and congratulations on your anniversary xx
1. Another lovely day with the cherubs at school, although I was treated to what I'm politely going to call the 'Paddington Bear stare' from one boy who thought it might make me let him off doing his work! (Nice try buster....but this is Ms Kittikins you're staring at)
2. My teacher has given me fab tips to plan for tomorrow's observed lesson....fingers crossed I'll remember them all and put them in the plan!
3. Made a cool poster for the classroom
4. Youtube for fab music tonight whilst I procrastinate....
5. DD has typed something up to help my teacher!0 -
Evening all - I am having a night off
Thanks for DS thoughts and comments. He talks the talk, but he is a sensitive soul - he was more positive yesterday and has gone to the footie on his wages tonight so I am more optimistic about him sticking with it, but I have to tread careful
CCP - don't shut out the yellow thing
Yesterday's pleasures
1 not many really, spent the whole day working. DD went to school happily, which is rare for the first day back after a holiday. Only about 10 more weeks of school to go
2 did manage an hour out for lunch with friend and goddaughter. She Is at uni now so it is nice to see her
3 bought my sissy a nice birthday pressie. She is 40 tomorrow
4 made bread. And butter pud for tea with soup from freezer and homemade bread. Also made flapjack and wetabix cake, cakes for the week sorted
5 saw the first daffodil on the verges start to open
And today's
1 another reasonable teaching session - a different approach as I didn't know the subject as I should. Therefore discussion and send students off to reasearch
2 broccoli soup for lunch and OH cooked sausages for tea
3 watched ant and dec from last Saturday. Guilty pleasure
4 conformation of Italian holiday house came through for our summer hols
5 evening offI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
VJsmum, I'm envious of your Italian summer house.....naughtily, it's the only thing I miss now about my last OH, his sister's amazing house with the best swimming pool ever *sigh*. Yup, even the memory of his lovely hugs has faded, but the memory of DD and I monkeying about in the gorgeous freshwater pool live on0

Kittikins - ah, the Paddington Bear stare. I have one cherub who is great at that. However, I ALWAYS win!
..... eventually
Still not feeling "right". I'm getting a bit fed up, but need to get on with things (eg going to work!).
My five pleasures for today:
1) NSD :j
2) Two more things have become payable on TopCashback! :j :j
3) Yellow sticker pizza for supper this evening. I read the serving suggestion on the back: "Serve with a side salad and a glass of your favourite wine". That's MY sort of serving suggestion, but being a school night I daren't indulge!
4) Load of washing just completed.
5) Getting excited about Amazon Prime about to allow the streaming of movies. I probably won't renew later in the year as they're doubling the cost of Prime, BUT I'll try to make the most of it up until then!
Night all :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Well done, Sparrer. :-)
Pleasure for today:
1) Not a bad sleep apart from being woken up an hour early by the screaming, whooping children next door. :-/ Their mother now works 30 miles away so they leave at 7am and have a jolly good laugh, shout and squeal on their way...
2) Sons had good days at school.
3) Went to pilates. It seemed hard work today and the time dragged a bit but it must have done some good.
4) Popped in to renew Dad's truck insurance for him. Got £100 knocked off his quote!
5) My new greenhouse has arrived (in a box). Hoping to put it up on the allotment on Thursday.
6) Phone call from the surgery. My biopsy results were all clear. Had to laugh when they read the surgeon's report out and described me as "essentially normal"!
7) Holby City.0 -
Congrats sparrer 9 years is fab. 10 is tin - bop might let you have the tin trophy ;-)
Upsizing kiwiblue :rotfl:
Oh dear frith if you're now essentially normal you might feel a bit outnumbered on this thread ;-)
1) yellow thing idd even in dundee
2) good meeting on main campus. Was able to thank the paediatrician (now prof) who saved my phd some years ago in person. I dont think he realised what a difference his small act of kindness made.
3) colleague at the meeting asked if i was still in touch with the polish doctor as she as IPL (interprofessional learning) is keen to maybe do some collaboration with him. I emailed him and he's inviting her to run an IPL workshop at a conference he's running in Krakov in May. All expenses paid. DD works fast!
4) she also mentioned she wants to knit little stockings for favours for her offspring's wedding. Have sent her the pattern from another thread on this site. Little acts of kindness. Pass them on.
5) been invited to run a fac dev workshop in cayman islands. It's the uni i made a contact with last august. Need to discuss with my line manager but woo hooMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. I keep forgetting, every morning this week, when I get up, there are two deer about 10 feet from my kitchen window, happily eating the leftover artichokes:D they are so beautiful:)
2. 6 NSd's in a row:D smug mode activate
3. Bulk bought cheap pukka pies for tea:D
4. Lots of lovely work and it rained on us too:D
5. Also forgot..DD asked if I'd lost weight!! Funnily enough I can now feel my ribs:D though the hip bones may be some time being found:P but I aint standin on the scales!
