1. My laptop was dying this morning, but I fixed it....by falling over and dropping it on the floor! (ouch, not the usual control-alt-delete method, but it worked.....)
2. NSD
3. English lesson was fabulous, the children were really focussed and a couple of them came up to me at the end to say how much they'd enjoyed it, bless them!
4. Music lesson was even betterWe all had a brilliant time and as my teacher knows the ultimate plan is to perform with our as yet unmade orchestra to the school, she's 'booked' us for an assembly and a parents' evening! No pressure, then.....gulp!
5. 3 fabulous books came in to the uni library for me, and the gods of the traffic were in my favour as I drove up and back after school and managed to pick....
6. My reason for living, DD, up from a special Brownies evening, where she'd had great fun making lots of crafty stufffor her and
for me as it has now given me a great idea for making an instrument for 'my orchestra'!
7. Managed to get through the world's most unplanned (and kind of observed by a lovely TA) phonics lesson....WILL do better tomorrow, I can only wing it once!
8. DD and I had a tiff tonight over who gives the best cuddles....she said me but I know it's her. We may have to keep cuddling just to be sure
Welcome back kiwiblue xx (p.s. what are you covering in fabric?)0 -
Evening all :hello:
DigforVictory - what an outrageous slur!I have lovely crumpled bedding, I'll have you know. :rotfl: Much to my mum's distress.
Just watched "Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!" on Channel 5. Reminds me why I am so careful nowadays with what I have.
So, my 5 for the day:
1) A visit to Mr T's for the weekly shop. A couple of yellow sticker items bought and bunged in the freezer too. Used a couple of vouchers which brought my shopping down by £1. Not much, but "Every Little Helps" as Mr T reminds us.
2) Found my cake for next month's Clandestine Cake Club. Our theme is "It's a bit of a drama!" However, I'm going for lateral thinking and I'm making this honey cake with honeyed almond crunch. I'm calling it "Honey, honey" (Abba, from Mamma Mia).
3) More ironing done!
4) Sausages for supper tonight. Yum!
5) Pay day today! :j My spreadsheet has been duly updated so I know what I have remaining to get me through the month. I have virtual "pots" for things such as car repairs, dentist and holiday as well as just trying to build up savings.
Need to try and finish my book club book for Thursday.

A fun day today but can't say I got a lot done!
1) Sons OK at school.
2) Went into town after school to have a cup of tea with one of my college friends and her 2 youngest children.
3) Went round all the charity shops afterwards and got an M and S shirt for smaller son that he wants to wear for my sister's wedding, a brand new GAP T shirt for bigger son (both of those £1.50!), a lovely striped woolly jumper for whichever son it fits then a pair of M and S cords and a long knitted jumper/dress for me. :-)
4) Popped to Sainsburys.
5) Cleaned the bathroom.
6) Got round to sending my thank you card to the staff who did my gastroscopy last week. Apparently the results are at my doctors surgery but she has to write something before they can tell me over the phone (?) Possibly tomorrow.
7) Watched Top Gear in bed with sons and had pancakes.
8) Now watching my Mad, Fat Diary (just me watching now!) Every week I find it strange because it is set when I was at sixth form college/uni so I know all the music or knew people who wore those t shirts.0 -
Welcome back kiwiblue . Pleased to hear your DH is clear now but so sorry to hear you've got it. I hope it's under control and you can get well soon. Did you downsize or are you still living where you were, in that lovely rural setting?? Your DH was very keen on his fishing trips I recall
. Hope you'll come back and let us know how you're doing
1. lie-in til 8am, then GP appt at 9.30am and saw him right on time. Have to go back on some meds which were stopped for a while, a scrip for a different one to try to stop stomach bleeding as the last lot appeared not to have worked, and have more blood tests re anaemia and cholesterol. Apart from that I'm very healthy!
2. Went to visit DD, did a bit of shopping then went to a toby for lunch. Was good food as always but they've crammed more tables in, it was a bit like eating in a plane, keeping elbows in so we didn't knock the people at the next table!
3. Like Vicky I watched 'Can't pay? We'll take it away', felt quite sorry for the ex military man til I saw how much he'd run up in debt - a total of 100k  No wonder his partner was threatening to leave him! Make me very grateful for :money:
4. A beautiful day, lots of yellow stuff and more forecast for tomorrow. Some time in the garden is definitely on the cards
5. Today I'm celebrating 9 years in my fellowship, some of you will know exactly what that means to me. A day of reflection, of gratitude, of thanks to the founders. Looking forward one day at a time to many more happy days

,,,and bop LURVES a Jennie:-)
Thanks so much Ampersand, looking forward to getting to know all the lovely people on here.
And my five for today would be:
1. Spending the whole day with my wonderful DH
2. Recovering seats in the motorhome, we are gradually progressing from a dingy, dirty looking blue to a smart brown and cream.
3. Friend came round for a coffee and chat.
4.Planning mini break at end of week, Taupo then Hamilton, will be great fun.
5. Big cuddles from my adorable, old dog, straight after she climbed out of the goldfish pond that she had jumped in to cool down
Blessings be

Hi Sparrer
DH is fine, mine has spread, but am managing it with meds.
Instead of downsizing, we have upsized! 4 acres in the country, so even more rural than the village. Smaller, newer house though, so a lot less time is spent on maintenance. Also closer t shops and services.
DH is still fishing a lot, the tuna are running at the moment (migrating past the coast) so he has been very busy.

Congratulations, that is a huge achievement, you must be very proud!0 -
Just popping in to say congratulations to Sparrer. Hope you had a very happy anniversary.
Hi Kiwiblue, welcome back
Busy busy. Back later

Waves hello across the water to kiwiblue
Well done sparrer on your special anniversary.
So it's Tuesday evening, I'm typing from the front porch, it has finally decided to cool down a bit to a more cope- able temperature for me. Was a very warm 33o today.Yuk!
A day off ( before a long shift tomorrow ) and woke after a decent sleep. Still dark though. Phoned friend from home and had a marathon yak with her!
Went to school book shop to collect a couple of books. Luckily the more expensive one had already been paid for.
Popped into supermarket for phone top ups for kids....get 10% discount using my loyalty card.
Home and a wee snoozette! Well I'd been up early and it was warm and zzzzz!
Woke up annoyed that I'd slept as long but got busy in my kitchen. I do love my kitchenaid...it was on non stop all afternoon.
I made: veg soup with half of the huge marrow, onion, carrot, turnip and lentils and some spicy stuff .....garnished with freshly picked parsley from the garden. Served with home made naan bread, topped with poppy seeds which had been left to prove on the window sill ( 'twas huge!)
Then carrot cupcakes, an orange loaf ( mum gave me the recipe last night) I iced it with the cream cheese icing too as I'd loads left over and then a banana and chocolate chip loaf iced with chocolate frosting. It got a bit too excited and escaped from the siicone loaf tin ...it's huge!so plenty of cakes in the mhagster pantry!
Girls came in from school and had a bit of a chit chat with them which was nice.
And that has been my pleasant day! Do have a lovely Tuesday0 -
And because I'm such a nice person have just popped over to friends house and left cakes on her doorstep
( less for me to eat!)0
