Biggest smile ever from me....37o dropped beautifully down to 21o this afternoon and it's just started raining, quite heavily. Excellent! Everything is so dry so a good drink of water will do the gardens a power of good and I always say it's a comforting sound of home for me :)

Last nights overnight heat was so intense , so not a good nights sleep and up earlier than normal as I had to get the train. Beautiful sunrise as I walked up to the station.

Good enough day at work, felt a bit out of sorts there today, still not in my comfort zone with some aspects but as I keep saying....I shall get there!!

Got paid again and this time went straight to the bank after work. It was gloriously Baltic- ally air conned!!

Train home , it only takes 11 minutes so not long at all. Popped into shop where DD2 works and bought some RTC beef and some chicken. ...( okay and some chocolate but it was on offer!)

Nice chit chats with my girlies when they came in from school and then we watched casualty.

I made individual steak pies with my rtc beef and very nice they were too, served with rice and steamed veg. Watermelon and figs for pud!

We have a ginormous courgette in the veg patch. It's huge...marrow sized almost. All the rest have been courgette sized but this one keeps growing!

Spare part ordered for car so hopefully fixed soon .

I am photo journaling my month on FB and enjoying choosing my pics for that.

Have the loveliest of Mondays :)

Ok, I nose what you lot think I am going to say about the B movie actor who exited early. OLAF. Out Lived Another Fellow. Especially when I see that the c is hanging the ground agains on this thread. BoPsie had the c. In fact most of the gals that BoP has known, had the c. But one thing I see as remains. Those that have given up smoking before 45, normally live! Though, be careful of the wire that snaps. I hear a Thorpedo has been put into rehab!

Cut Throat Jake. I will not mention the others then! Swimming away nicely. Pinkies. I was a Grinky. Laptop works. Cool comes at 37C. 55 is just about warm. Brunch Bunch, Old School. Racing Circuits. Pancakes a bit early, is it Tuesday. Secret Den. Dennis who? Fresh Eggs, more Brunch, or pancakes again! Sleep in. Radio full beat, music to your ears. Pop, thought that was a BoP for a mo, but duvet day, HELLO. Do the JimBoP! (Secrets).

Now, who were the others on Pugwashs' boat!

5 Cottage Pie yesterday. Mince, Carrots, Toe Nailed Onion, peas in a savoury Tom Sauce. Topped with cheese mashed tatties. Served with sweltered leeks and cabbage. Nom Nom with Xmas pud and custard. Thirst time in years that a pud has not seen the second weekend of February.

4 Raffles likes to interfere in the scullery. YestDi, it was paws up as the mince and onions were torched on the stove. This morning, he was sniggling up to BoPsie, yet again though with fresh can, of Salmon, he nose turns and legs over the gate. Ten minutes later, he is back and chomping it up as usual,

Oh, and another actor died recently. Maximilian Schell. Who was the one who went early!

    !

Roger the Cabin boy was an urban myth, regrettably as was Seaman Staines

DD, Bop's not Jim from the Archers, he's Cutthroat Jake from Captain Pugwash but a bit more successful in his endeavours!
oo yes. I do like the idea of everyone having a 'voice'. Any suggestions for your preferred voice peeps?
VJsmum I wonder why they're urban myths? Are there rural myths? There's bound to be a few urban myths about the etymology :rotfl:

Back later with my five, just needed a giggle as a quick breather on the marking mountain and knew you guys would provide me with just that :T And no Master Bates neither. Though Friar Tuck really does exist, just be careful you don't spoonerise!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Day off work, so I got a bit of a lie-in, and it was much needed as Isis decided at 2am that she wanted a fuss and she wasn't going to let me sleep again until I provided one. smiley-rolleyes007.gif

    2) Sausage sarnie for lunch.

    3) Received my grocery deliver, with an unexpected introductory free gift - a branded tea-towel. Thanks, I think... :undecided

    4) Finished my essay, although I haven't submitted it yet as I want to give it a final read-through with fresh eyes tomorrow.

    5) Thinking I might go to the pub quiz tonight. I don't usually do the Monday night one but I feel like I owe myself a treat for having waded through 2000 words of essay over the past few days!
Back after a very long break!

I knew you lot would discuss the urban/maritime myths re language in Pugwash! :rotfl: I will admit that I was listening very carefully when I double-checked the Cutthroat Jake episodes!

The urban-myth-that-wasn't that I like is from the Clangers where Major Clanger says (whistles?) “Sod it, the bloody thing’s stuck again” when he kicks the door. http://www.clivebanks.co.uk/Oliverpostgateinterview.htm

I didn't intend to post this early this evening but here's my five pleasures for Monday since I'm here :D:

    1. Rereading that interview with Oliver Postgate. I had the chance many years ago to spend time walking across a park and chatting with him on a really sunny summer's lunchtime at a conference we were both attending. Precious memory.

    2. Walking very briskly to the doctors before it shut to collect a prescription and realising that a year ago there is no way I could have walked a mile at that speed. (Have a few more steps to do to make my total for today but it won't be a problem.)

    3. Loads of washing done and mostly dried.

    4. Chatting with my mum on the phone.

    5. Kind of improvised kedgeree-thing for lunch with rice and flaked salmon fillet (one divided between three :D) and boiled eggs and peas and baby tomatoes cut in half. Tasted very good and stretched the salmon very well.

Looking forward to Call the Midwife on iplayer.

Have lovely evenings and sweet dreams

    1. My go - d-Éfi acceptÉ.[I'll trick the e-acute no-go somehow]] So, 'SCEAUX' complies nicely as plural of OOE CDZ Blank[for 'e'], doubling on mid-treble down below. bop 'forgot' to include this vital info., which & has kindly suppllied. Au coin du dictionnaire - ms bopsie et son aide-de-camp, Maître Rafales. Under challenge from bop - 'Can OOE CDZ Blankbe pluralised?', M. Rafales declares 'Mais oui!' It's the sound of cat delight upon reaching top of boiler and settling thereupon and bop should have known this. Sweet symmetry - 57 pts each way merci and 2 tins of salmons pink or red, purrleeze.

All singing, all dancing and it's yellow thing.
Your throw, bop - hold on, just let dfv make her killing on les raffraichissements first.

    2. Isis and chick's mummy's terrier are loving every moment of the game. And it's SO educational! Spring in air and 4-foots.

    3. Posted 3 things, 2 of which major, fruit of 2 nights' ink on paper, Cornelissen style.

    4. Best visit ever today. Please join in huge thanksgiving for this. Real hope - only lateralled by & bogged in mud and churning ever downwards. Strong men with chains, ropes, dogs allowed themselves to be accosted and performed knightly savings in some style. Not even 7 could heave it clear. With added tractor - job done.

    5. Early start for chop demain, might not post for a day or several.

During the INTERVAL we will have a small recital by the Ashley Clinton Sheep's Choir, fresh from their triumphant sell-out Borsetshire Tour:

Broomstick, ugly as envy is - to have walked across a park conversing with Olive Postage....!!! I adored everything about this wonderful man. Still do, with another twist in the heart for old reasons.

  • Thought it was about time I posted 5 on here

    1) Just finished the last 2 Christmas chocolates ... From this box.
    2) Coffee with a friend after work and she paid too, as she had a success in her new business.
    3) DH and I recovered a cube together for the price of an old curtain and some furniture tacks. I now have my feet on it.
    4) Chilli in the slow cooker for tea, so that was easy. There is more left for tomorrow.
    5) Heard from both DS and DD today and they will be over at the weekend.

Hope everyone has a restful evening.
