    1. Yummy brunch at Carluuuccio's with DD and my folks :)

    2. Bracing walk and discovery of 'secret dens' with DD in a park near the restaurant :)

    3. I've finished an assignment! Not the Latin one, that's not yet started...but another one that is due in in April when a load of other work is due, so really pleased to have those 2,000 words out of the way!!

    4. I've been organised and have a scrummy salad packed up in the fridge for me to take to uni tomorrow.

    5. DD came in nice and early this morning and we had lots of cuddles and sleep :)

    6. It's been quite sunny all weekend, yippee!!

    Evening

Pleasures for the last couple of days

    1. Booked some outings for half term using various offers and vouchers. So nice now DD is older we can do things like a spa day and go to the theatre.
    2. Yummy roast veg and pasta for lunch on Friday again resisting the urge to buy something from the sandwich shop plus I didn't have to go out in the cold.
    3. Changed the meal plan around slightly on Friday night as didn't fancy the meal planned.
    4. Food shopping done for the week yesterday and came in exactly on budget, which is good as stocked up on some meat and things for the freezer.
    5. Lunch out yesterday with OH and DD. The table we sat on had a window overlooking another room which was been used to film something so we were making up our own version of what they were talking about, it made us smile
    6. Popped into see inlaws on way home. Nice to catch up with them and finished up staying for dinner so no cooking for me yesterday
    7. Little bit of a lie in today
    8. NSD
    9. Usual Sunday cooking for the week done so have roast chicken and ham done for sandwiches. Also made a big batch of tomato sauce as only one pot left in freezer. Another big batch of stewed fruit to use in porridge for breakfast so that's 10 portions of pear, apple and blueberries also in the freezer. Made a few cakes and some raspberry jellies as well.
    10. Tried a new recipe tonight of sticky chicken, very simple marinade of balsamic, soy and honey. Was very tasty and had with some vegetable rice
    11. Little snooze this afternoon

hugs to all who need them

    Sunday's 5

    1. Walkies being delivered - I know I mentioned it earlier but I'm still quite excited about it
    2. Classic fm full volume as I drove to meet my friends
    3. Jnr roast beef dinner with churros and ice cream to follow, just right
    4. Thanking the powers that be for the yellow thing until lunchtime, then a dry day til 5pm when there was a short shower before it dried up again. My heart goes out to all the poor folk suffering constant rain and floods
    5. Midwife and Musketeers.
    6. Laughing at the antics of my friend went through to get her mog into a cat carrier so she can park her overnight with friends son while she moves house. Just seen the time, picking her up at 8am to give her a hand moving so need get to bed!

Must just pop bed covers back over, so warms don't escape, and hwb stays h.
    #done#
    1. Well done Andy!
    2. ...during which I have written the letter to NZ that I said 2 years ago I would one day write. 7 A4 pages for someone to decipher[which should be essay length for ccp or kittikins or vjm or dd or vicky - and it'd take more than all of you to reckon up my gauchère script, which apparently looks ok until it needs reading, sometimes even by me.]
    3. Dug front garden and did lots of related mucking about, reasonable planting.
    4. bop- re: your 3.
Intended this anyway, having thoroughly enjoyed Barney Ronay in t'grauniad[don't often bother with him] It's a hoot unfortunately, with a trainload of comments to match.e.g.
Yeah we def need a new broom, one big enough to sweep out the entire team, coaching staff and all the other backroom hangers on and selectors.
The way forward is to let the nation pick the team via this website. The eleven names gaining most votes will play, the next five will be drinks waiters/sub fielders. Then the next ten can act as coaches. And while we are at it maybe ask Sky as the only broadcaster of cricket to change their commentating line up too. Getting bored with the old brigade spouting how good bad or indifferent players are as though when they played they were invincible. Same goes for the Beeb's test match special. There's not much special about one old boy going on about his Mum or Granny being more capable. Heard it so many times it's not even remotely funny.
Final thought I have lots of time on my hands these days as a recent pensioner now where could I fit into this somewhere. Could do with a few days watching cricket in some sunny location.'
    ,

or 'It could have been 13-0 if the Aussies weren't a superstitious bunch.'

or this one:[keep mouse on screen for trans.- alle ist klar.]
'Some appropriate music[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1gGlWsQip0] to mark the end of England's most disastrous tour of all time and the wilderness years to come' (skip to about 4:21 in).

I did google around for any sons of Freddie F, grandsons of Bothers. &could be still around, only another 65 years...Ashes to ashes.

    5. yes dfv - re 'I vote, no matter how much a chore, so I can grouse from the moral high ground!' re:wobbleade concession, all into &'s Travel Fund puhleeze. Love 'venison benison', praise again sung ce soir. It's damned good.

    6. dd- bop is Jim/bop as Jim? Hmm, hadn't gone there. To ponder. We're plumbing a few navels in Ambridge suddenly and I am enjoying a certain knowing hint of up-send from some Continuities as they preview 'Tomorrow, Peggy has visitors and does Usha know what Alan said?...'. I know, we'll plan TominKursory's wedding...ready meals all round, keeps it cheap does our Tom. Keeps it in house, in marquee on Pat and TonyNV's no longer ancestral turf. After Kursory balloon-pricked ex-oh-Brenda&Tom house site, Tom has 'nother good idea-can't let a good marquee go to waste. Jazzer to officiate. Muckspreader confetti. All of Ambridge burgled while 150 guests attend WOTY[well, so far] Jill axed for unconvincing hysterics performance twice last week[needs time off for eye op. anyway] Susan and Neil are kidnapped on lottery-funded holiday, but are released when Susan nags them, incessantly, about Hygiene and her missing Hello mag. Joe Grundy plans Guinness World of Records silent Morris dancing record attempt.
Bound as I am by the Official Secrets Act[and colour co-ordinated ducked tape]no further details will be forthcoming.

    7. Just as well I checked. Thing is happening on Tues, not Wed.

Warm hugs to kezlou before I re-bonne nuit. You sound a very special Mummy indeed. 'All our own bed...at last' - it's such a one when it happens.

Frith - did you watch any Severn bore coverage? Was thinking of you after your earlier post.
    ###
ccp - have only this morning seen your post. I am so glad to read ls is back home and having sister sillies with you. What a relief for you all! Let's say at last, All is Well!
p.s. broomstick - like you, &green light Aint Necessarily Goooo-o.

Evening everyone, not that anyone will be around so late. (I take that back, &'s light is on :D). I started writing this about two hours ago and got distracted with other stuff like DS1 returning home. Didn't post yesterday because this weekend's been just a bit busy.

    :hello: kezlou

DD, Bop's not Jim from the Archers, he's Cutthroat Jake from Captain Pugwash but a bit more successful in his endeavours!

Sparrer, I am seriously envious of 'Walkies'. I may have to advertise on Freecycle to see if someone has one that needs a new home.

Ampersand - It's Imbolc this weekend as well. I'd forgotten it was Candlemas today.:) That explains why DS2 lit the candle on the windowsill tonight when he hasn't lit it for months - he won't realise the Candlemas (or Imbolc) link, it was just a coincidence. :)

CCP and Kk, fantastic word counts! and CCP, even more fantastic that your sister is home.

Vicky thanks for the reminder about Family Businesses - I saw the badges one and it was really interesting.

    [STRIKE]Five[/STRIKE] six pleasures from recently:

    1. Looking up old Pugwash programmes just to make sure I was right about BoP. I was.:D

    2. News via DS1 about good things happening abroad at the event he was at. Texts, phone calls and a few emails all weekend.

    3. Getting him home again in one piece late this evening and hearing yet more details about everything.

    4. Greek yoghurt and honey.

    5. Pyjama day :o Well, actually yoga trews and t-shirt but I wear them as jamas and I knew I hadn't actually got dressed. I just threw a baggy jumper on top to keep warm. It meant I didn't even bother to wear the pedometer for the first time this year  but I will tomorrow and did reach my new total on Saturday. :D

    6. A friend asked me if I would do a job reference for her which I was delighted to help with. I emailed it off to her prospective employer and my friend got back in touch to say she'd got the job and starts next week. Fab. :j

    Off to make a hottie.

    Sweet dreams
