Good evening,
VJsmum and DigForVictory I became a professional storyteller (meaning I got paid for sessions, could not make a living from storytelling alone!) by attending a storytelling club, listening and telling stories in that environment for a few months. Then you get to know others who do sessions in schools, libraries, community events and you become better known, and you get to hear about the possibilities for paid sessions, other storytellers offer you the gigs they cannot do etc... It was one of my many jobs when the twins were little toddlers, in fact I used to take them with me and use them as props, they loved it! Re. Tax and spinning tales...the world is a stage etc etc....:rotfl:
A bit of a weird day, very tired and have eaten out of control, in quite a compulsive way. In spite of this, I have had good things happen to me and here they are:
1. Breakfast with DS
2. Bootcamp even if tired, managed to last till the end and it did not rain!
3. Cleaned the kitchen and DS hoovered the stairs and tidied the living room
4. Bedding laundry done and will sleep in fresh sheets tonight.
5. Yoga class
6. Watched The Land Girls for the umpteenth time and loved it all the same.
Good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions, I presumed I was tested for B12 during the previous blood tests but will ask when I go back in 4 weeks. I'm taking iron and I have Vegemite (find Marmite has a bit of a 'burn') most days. GP phoned this morning, said he forgot to mention gastritis so have been presc yet more meds for that. I feel like throwing the whole lot away and doing it my way . He asked if I was still teetotal, or was I smoking but haven't drunk for almost 9 years or smoked for almost 7 so he'll have to look elsewhere for a cause. Hopefully there will be a change in the next few weeks but I'm very fortunate when I think of others like CCP's sister
Frith congratulations on being able to pay off your remortgage, what a lovely feeling
mhags pleased the job is going well so far, long may it last
VJsmum the Kevin grunt is being passed down, my children now suffer it from their own offspring. It passes, honest
CCP Oh I am sorry to hear your sister is poorly again, will remember her in my prayers.
ampersand sounds like everything tech is on the verge of a nervous breakdown! Hope you get it all fixed soon
kittikins I hope you said yes to the date? Have a nice time
1. YS haul this evening included 2 packs of runners @15p, 2 bags of salad potatoes @15p (lovely sliced and fried), and 4pts milk for 20p. The lamb bones I bought for the dog cost 25p - more than my individual items! Spoiled mutt
2. Spoke with my friend who is in Dubai, she's heading for Sydney on Friday so thankfully her ordeal should be over in a couple of weeks.
3. Long chat with DS, still loving his job and not talking about enrolling for yet another uni course. Thank goodness!
Can't think of any more for now so will wish you all sweet dreams0 -
Hello from 'who turned the heating up again?' land, Tis warm , well hot really but only going to get hotter so we will just call it warm.
Good sleep...what a difference that made this morning when the alarm went off.
Good drive to work, good day at work and good drive home from work. Finished earlier again which is nice.
DD2 has her friend over and they were going to have chips for lunch....ooh get me some please, so a chip butty for lunch was perfect.
Harvest of up to number 14 tomato , 2 green beans and a courgette today.
Some rat bag creature/ insect/ bird has been nibbling the tomatoes.
Washing, washing and more washing . Bed stripped and dried on line in no time at all.
We have an autumnal look going on as it's been so hot lots of leaves have turned colour and fallen off, so I had to sweep the driveway. It's pretty but 3 months too early.
Anticipated pleasure of a husband coming home tonight having been away for 5 days.
Have a thoroughly fine Thursday0 -
(((hugs)))CCP
Frith - well done you !
KK- ding dong ! A bit stalkery but niceIt is Valentines day soon ..;)
Hve a lovely day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Morning
Frith - Well done on the mortgage payment, nice to have the extra money for you and the boys.
CCP- Hugs to you and gentle hugs to your Dsis. I do hope they resolve it soon
Sparrer - Did you know dark chocolate contains iron not much admittedly but every little helps
DFV - I loved the comment about brothers you wanted to put on your son's french homework. Having grown up with 3 older brothers it amused me a lot
Pleasures for yesterday
1. in work early again but much calmer and still got brownie points
2. Roast Veg, pasta and pesto for lunch brought in from home, yum. Plus made packed lunches for the rest of the house
3. Hair cut and coloured so badger streak gone. The hairdresser also had a special offer on so cheaper than usual which was nice
4. Even though in work early put the slow cooker on in the morning so came home to beef casserole. DD had put dumplings in when she got in. I just had to put some pre cooked roast potatoes, roast parsnip and yorkshire puddings for OH (he doesn't like dumplings) in the oven when got home. Dinner ready in 5 minutes. Very tasty dinner and we avoided having a takeaway.
5. Walked home from the hairdressers as had just missed the bus so saved myself the bus fare and got a bit of exercise and fresh air.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
OK sees what happens whens you gets support on this thread, We end up in a tizzy. Sparra. Vegemite, VEGEMITE. That cheap Australian thinned substitute. Cor blimey gal, whwre we live, we took it off the emporium shelves and smashed the empty jars on the floor. I know, just because of the ashes! Yous not get better until you have a stomach for Marmite. Ms BoPsie did not, but she has grown used to it after all the years. Rant over. Sits, gets out his Mature Cheese, Onion Crunch and marmite sandwich. You know it is good for you! No Toasted Fox though.
Note to newbies, I sometimes slightly change words, no foxes were harmed during the eating of this thread.
Chinese classes and pilates, Plates? Damp squids and crates. Coffee and cheese, Chilli, beans I hopes not chick peas. Cold taps running, new phones, no tones. Terrible tums, Oooh, dates. Ooooh.Driving tests. By then, it was probably too late. Odd mornings. No not on stickers, I booked the Yellow thing for easter now! My turn! Bootcamp! Harvested tomato, getting warm. Oi, you got them ashes back yet, Mhags? Haircut, what is that!
Pleasures
5 Woke the current Ms BoPsie nice and early so she can get to grips with the Porage. Real oats, not that no toe nail instant stuff. Properly brewed on the stove. Trimmed my hairs and washed me smalls. Raffles is well settled in now. When we first at liberty to look after him, he would wolf everything we put down. Now he has become fuss pot. But devours his Cod.
4 No cribbage last night, we ended up playing Scrabble. And I am back. But Ms BoPsie did say she enjoys her chuckles. So if yous want to be happy, get yers sens chuckling.
3 See my newssheet this morning with on rabbit mode about these internet sites and networks. Now I should say, switch the bl ...
Off
2 Nites me and BoPsie are hitting the town, or well, a small part of it. If you see the red paint, you know whjo it is.

Agreed 'No', bop - chickpeas=phartyphood, but 'Vegemite builds a Nation' [in another Life &wordsmithed for daily pain] I loathe the lot of them, but keep a jar for the scant tsp add-in to various viands. It's excellent in bolognese sauces/casseroles etc.
1. Still stuck in with torrids ongoing, so another nsd/npd. Little steps, little steps, some upwards today, no downs.
2. BUT, back to ems and find I have WON a Belinda Bellville Exhibition prize!:j, so down again for another stayover:

Right up my street - goodiegoodie.
3. Raffles, block your ears please. Registered for Big Garden Birdwatch this w/e. Here's the reminder:

4. Yellowthing-must be Easter.
5. Some answers coming in, in time for l-h visit demain.
6. 2 bits of antiquarian Glasgae Masonic ephemera may be better than okay.
7. Put heating on all day hier, still on today. Sod it:D
8. Andy gave everything in his match. Of course it's too early to expect a Slam victory. I am therefore irate in the extreme when I see either sloppy, or deliberate, subbing of his words from this:Britain's Andy Murray said it would have been "stupid" to think he could win the Australian Open so soon after back surgery. to this lazy header: 'Murray Stupid to expect title win'
As 5live have been economising on commentary, found this instead:

Great match and Stan the Man does it again.
5liveX instead did Wimmins Ashes/ODI, bop, with similar implosion after decent start
And this is great news:

sparrer - a true high cocoa solids choc is also good, but 'Warning: Lookout for Dutching. The method used to process the raw cacao bean can affect the amount of flavanols in the end product. If your chocolate says “processed with alkali” on the nutrition label, then it’s going to have a whole lot fewer flavanols. Processing with alkali is called “dutching“.'
Please take care. NZ, as trailblazed by &, awaits you.
ccp- caring thoughts to you and ls. Do you want chicken and I to 'visit' your LL?;) PK - are you up for a Close Protection jobchange on him? Or else bootcamp Caterina sounds supremely suited. Well done C.
giddynmg - what sort of tea? No milk in mine thankyou. Lovely posts - welcome:).

ampersand - thanks for the kind offer - after another day with nary a squeak from my elusive LL, drastic measures may soon be called for!
1) DSis is apparently feeling much better already and may be ready to leave hospital next Monday, so only a week after the original plan.
2) Today was meant to be an NSD, but then I read the MSE newsletter and saw a link to a website selling off glittery things at silly prices and couldn't resist.I came away with 8 pairs of earrings for £5, and passed the link on to a colleague with a similar penchant for Things That Glitter.
3) Having broken the NSD I went on to Amaz0n and ordered Isis a new bed, using the voucher from doing surveys. :money: The bed I chose had, as usual on Amaz0n, a couple of pictures of the product, but had obviously been done by someone who really knows cats as the 'alternative' view was of a cat sleeping contentedly in the box it comes in!
4) Kind OU tutor has given me an extension on the deadline for the next essay as I got a nasty shock when I suddenly found it's due in next week, having not yet finished reading the chapter the essay is meant to be based on!
5) Feeling mildly but annoyingly cold-y tonight, so I've decided to skip the pub quiz and stay at home with a mug of something warm to drink and an Isis for entertainment.Back after a very long break!0 -
Can't quite belive it's only 9, I feel like I could go to bed right now.
Today started off quite tough. One of my friends had some bad news recently and I'm feeling so hurt for her. I wish I could be closer (I moved away a while back) but I'm keeping in touch and hoping she will be ok.
My pleasures for today.
1 - An email with information about tickets to an event I'm taking my sister to.
2 - Bought my haggis for Saturday. Nom nom.
3 - Bought new uniform at work today. Not very MSE but given I work in a shop and get 75% off it ain't so bad.
4 - 2 of my team set themselves a tough challenge in work today and then totally nailed it. Makes me proud.
5 - A quick chat with the other half tonight which put a smile on my face.0 -
Giddy - I like the sound of random bits for tea:) we like random! And haggis..no one but me likes it
DVF - Chicken - Ner ner I'm 5' 10"
Kitty - I love words...egress ah..this way to the egress ;-)
1. Lemon pie:D
2. Old school pastry cutter..can't afford a food processor!
3. 4 NSd's in a row:D
4. Started a diary..in an actual paper book no less!
5. Mommy lady called and has suggested another way to eat purple sprouting broccoli! We've had it 3 days out of 4 so far this week...I know its good for us but...
