2. Made initial contact with the solicitor, who have requested to dig out the file.
3. Feeling very very hungry today but stayed on plan with planned snacks its not like I'm not eating:o
4. Watching winterwatch.
5. Checking on the plants that I put in yesterday and it looks good the animals have left them alone, basically it should be if they last the day of the animals playing they can get a foot hold so looking forward to seeing them.:rotfl:
6. Aunts on the phone and nice to catch up with them.0 -
Hello everybody!
Sparrer glad your dog is ok and sorry to read about your friend's passing.
Chickenopolis I want an Eglu too! Do you keep the chickens in the enclosure or do you let them roam? We have such a small garden that it might be impractical!
DigForVictory thanks for kind words! Yoga again today, too.
Today I have to put my gratitudes first as I am truly thankful for the first 3, the rest too but these 3 are really top priority:
1- last night I dreamt of a neighbour's child who has been seriously ill, so this morning I knocked at the door to ask about her. I was so worried that she appeared in my dream in case something bad had happened to her. Her dad opened the door and gave me the wonderful news that, after several months of illness, she is now back home from hospital and today was her first day back in school. I could not stop crying with the happiness and relief!
2- got my breast scan results back, clear.
3- had pelvic scan and radiographer told me it all looks ok and healthy (fibroids not too bad and probably no need for any intervention) thanks God!
4- nice yoga class
5- feeling happier and more positive than I have done in a long time.
Good night! xxFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Hope nobody minds me joining in.
My pleasures for today:
1 - Another day of eating better. Great to be cutting down on the junk.
2 - Really enjoying my current read. Dearest Virginia (Love Letters of a Cavalry Officer).
3 - Nice chat with my lovely mam.
4 - Being on top of the housework so very little to do this evening.
5 - FaceTime with my other half0 -
Morning all. No mhags currently kuala lumpur drinking english breakfast at the departures harrods. Random! Yesterday was exhausting!
1) woken up ealry by call to prayer. Lasted 30 minutes by which time i was if not wide awake certainly far from asleep. But gave me plenty of time for a soak in the bath
2) over to the uni for two meetings then lunch with dean et al. Went very well and they're wanting to start first cohort of students on our distance programme septemberlunch was mushroom soup, chicken and mash in spicy sauce, and the dean's favourite - bread pudding (it was lish)
3) student picked me up from hotel 3:30 and took me on an amazing tour of KL - china town, sunway (huge shopping centre, largest man-made surf beach, longest pedestrian suspension bridge)
4) then chinese meal in very nice restaurant
5) then twin towers. Not up but viewed from another shopping centre's plazza. Oh and 6...
6) found an irish theme pub. I know when in rome, but a chilled draft pint of strongbow was extremely welcome!
Didnt get back to hotel till midnight and had to get a taxi at 7am so absolutely cream crackered. Fight to sri lanka is 3 1/2 hours (and go back 2.5 hours in time) so hoping to catch up on some shut eye. See you in Colombo!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Welcome Giddynmg
Caterina - at the moment the "girls" are in the two runs due to neighbours without fences which provide an easy access for foxes. In the summer or if I am at home they are out free ranging in the garden. When I had two hens there was minimal damage to the garden its 100ft . I have 6 now and the garden is like the Somme .Hope this helps:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all ...the worker is not long in from work , had to do a closing shift and it took an hour longer than usual as I had to be shown everything....I will be quicker myself next time ...however will be paid that extra hour so it's all good and my boss very kindly have me a lift home.
So, the alarm clock went off at ridiculous early o'clock this morning and whilst I wasn't an early, early start I feel I need my body clock to get back into some kind of rhythm.
Took the train to work to avoid parking issues , got there far too early so had a wander round and have free all day parking sussed for when I'm on an early start.
We were so busy today , which was good but talk about thrown in at the deep end! However , that's probably the best way to do it!
A free workers lunch of turkey salad . Came home with bread x 2 loaves, left over pumpkin salad and a bacon and egg roll...they would just be chucked out and boss said she would rather staff use it than it going in the bin.
I can foresee interesting staff dynamics!
Wore my new to me black clothing!
Got my electricity bill, which is technically not really a pleasure , however 25% saving from solar power buy back, 10% early payment discount all help soften the blow.
Tea of left over macaroni and pumpkin salad ( rocket, spinach leaves, pumpkin, sun dried tomatoes, almonds, feta cheese...schlurp!) DD1 and DS shared the bacon and egg roll ( huge) and salad. OH is away in Sydney again so does not require feeding by me! DD2 at a friends.
So that's really all I've done today. I put my pedometer app. on whilst at work so by 3pm when my phone battery was getting low I had done 6000 steps...so that's better than sitting on my !!!!! at home !i think ( hope) I am going to enjoy working here:)
Have a terrific Tuesday0 -
Morning
Thank you for all the good wishes for my niece, we are all so pleased for her and still smiling whenever we think about it.
Broomstick - Google maps is very good for planning walks.
Ampersand - Sounds like you had a fantastic weekend in Glasgow
Frith - Have you tried peppermint tea, OH hates the taste but says it is voodoo as always makes him feel better.
DD - Safe travels
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. NSD
2. Butternut Squash soup for lunch with HM bread, shared soup with friend at work. Followed by raspberry jelly, yum.
3. !!!!ly chat with mum on the phone she is sounding so much brighter and the thought of a new great grand child has really been a boost for her. The baby is due in July which is usually a bad month for her so hopefully this will give her some new good memories for that time of year.
4. Ordered book for mum on the kindle which I will enjoy as well plus as I order she puts the money on my savings so a bit more saved today.
5. Friend at work telling me how much money she is saving on her food shopping now she is meal planning and got her OH on board with it. We were swapping menu ideas
Hugs to all who need them0 -
First day news, no cold blues, Blue, Blue bowls, filled with china gold?
Glad the dumpling, made the plate
Long walks, relief for a sack of spuds?
Gone up to Soch aye All street, no yellow stuff there, &
Snorkers for tea, onion gravy?
Scans, and sickly. Oooh, hope not prickly
Newbies in, I WEAR THE APRON?
Giddiness on our feet, but Singapore Lil send news from afar.
Hens abound, in runs in the Somme!
Good job for the sun, it shines down under (& that is where you need to be)
Bit of an iron works (Scunthorpe) chat, filtered the verse!
Ms BoPsie was out last night. And she came back all not so giggly either. But, I am championi at the UC last night. Event getting one in about the town west of Amsterdam. Globe trotters indeed.
5 Toasted Fox still hanging in at the ridiculous price of 80P. No change today, so it goes amiss again. Work tea and kettle pot is running dry after they put the prices up. So much for unrest taking over and delivering wht the customer wants. Customer has foot, walks with shirk. Claw sarnies and fruit salad beckons again.
4 I always get my oats thirst thing in the morning, with proper milled oats from Alford. Good and honest they are in Porage.
3 Answer phone at work has message, but it will take a week to reset the password. Good old iT! If it was urgent, they will ring again. No ring! Gets up for cup of tea, with kettle (MSE)
2 nite is Scrabble nite, and I need a win
1 We have come a long way in the river, but the waters have become muddy over the years as each has succumbed to their own division.0 -
Well, what am I doing here still? Was up at 5 to start straight out on crammed day.
1. Goes like this-
She: Oh, he's on training today, all day
&: Oui, je sais, that's why he said Catch me pre-10h...
She: silent
&: So, has he arrived? It was he who asked for this call at this time.
She: I'm not allowed to say if anyone's here, ever.
That's a Fail.
2. Surgeon offers 2/2. That's v. quick, but clashes with an impossible Mon cut-off. Just wait, says his nice Sec.and rings back, having tweaked another op. On for 3/2. Grateful thanks to Sec and also to other patient.
That's a Pass+
3. What a Wawrinka Victory! - glorious. Leaving aside the schadenfreude, & not being Djoko phan. It's all change in the wimmin's this year, why not the chaps'?
-except that I should be out and running, not stopping and listening.
4. Case unpacked - nothing broken and no sudden sinkings of heart as I see les objêts again.
5. 2 Train Station reverbes to report: 10p@Glasgow Central; 2p@Edinburgh
Off I go at last - to fit 1.5 day's stuff into a small window of afternoon.
Found this - it's close:

Hi all
Hope
This pleasant day finds you all well
Tea lady, wonderful news
Dingong saving - helloooo
DforV -blimey, mammoth post. Must take you ageeeess
Frith, glad you are on the mend. I had something similar around new year
LFS - you, too, must be on the mend :rotfl:
Chicken - I had a go at the 5:2. I could cope with the lack of food stomach wise, but I was tired and grumpy beyond all reason, so gave it up pronto. My fitness pal is helping me lose a few lbs at the mo
Broomstick, mmm rosemary potatoes. Might do some of those to go with my BoP style snorkers later
Ampersand - your YHlooks lovely. Took a Look as may have to use for a DD audition, potentially so wanted to see what they are like. Would be good for her to see alternatives to hotels also
Cateriana good news on the screenings :T
Giddynmg - lol that auto corrected to Giddy mug. Hellooo
DD - whirlwind tour of KL. looking forward to Colombo
Final two for. Sunday
4 built a wardrobe we bought from Swedish furniture land. OH did the tax
5 oH cooked delicious organic steak for tea. We bought it on. Our way back from port Meirion, it was worth every penny
And yesterday's
1 mad teaching group wee great fun, but glad not to have to do Mondays any more
2 house buy completed:T. Just got to paint the blessed thing now
3 yummy broccoli soup and HM bread for tea
4 driving DD to school, the sun coming up in the mist and the frost on the trees - lovely wintery landscape
5 helping DS with his GCSE PE homework. Whilst that was rather like pulling teeth, I think in the end he got it. And learnt a bit more about how to learn.
Not such a pleasure, DD got a "no" from her audition. Whilst it won't be her last no, it was her first and she was dreadfully upset and disappointed. More philosophical today though. Awful when you can't make it better though, isn't it?I wanna be in the room where it happens0
