  • Allegedly, Ms BoPsie got rid of the Burnt on Crusted Whisky sauce in a flash. So that was easy then.

Good to see the top frog boss, having a bit on the slide.

Wolves and whistles, belles and thistles?
Tidy, kitchen, buzzing. Room Service? Snorkers and fry ups all around, Fresh bread,, Hope the jam on toast was sound!
    Shortbread coockies, in a jar
Isis has found fish, she gorges a decent dish
Beef Stew, bubbling away, surely a dumpling goes not a stray?
Garden centres, and cars, And Mhags is on the road
DFV’s back, with lots of chat, chuffed out and trains.
Sun as well, it did not rain.
Now for baths, and glad rags, or was the ambulance bags.
    Lost purse, a quick curse
Sparra, did I mis read. No, thinks of all,

Right, here is five I can fire off

5 Ms BoPsie, is queen of Scrabble this weekend. Not that BoP is loooooosing the plot, but she has slammed down her hands in style. Well, not by landslides I note, but a cople of points in it. It will not last my dears.

4 Paws, or Raffles. Bit flopsing this morn. He has his food down, but vannot be found. Well, seems to be a fuss pot morning for him.

3 Fruit salad for lunch, with extra claw sandwiches. Might have to go back to the cheese and marmite and onion butties next week.. And oranges. No toasted fox this week as price ihas gone from 50P to 80P. So they can stuff it.

2 night should have all my strength back to get even with the Scrabble. Thought I had her beats on Friday with an unzip, but she hung on the last throws of the tiles.

1 Need to count the chickens, as they seem to have hatched a plot!

    5 for today

    1. Work ok. Colleagues all seem to be on the 5/2 diet and most are cranky on it. They eye me up in disgust eating my crisps, nuts and raisins and a virtuous apple for lunch :rotfl:Not my idea of fun - explained that growth hormones kick in if body thinks it is going to starve...

    2. Got home saw lots of mud up the front path and could smell freshly cut wood, a smell I love :D. The fence panels were replaced and one was patched up as DM had allowed them access whilst I was at work.Nice. No open plan garden :)

    3. It stayed lighter this evening !

4.Pasta, broccoli and cheese sauce for tea . I might have some chips as well when OH gets in (sorry 5/2 people!!)

    5. Considering getting a smaller car whilst keeping the OGV as OH travels many many miles for work and I do about 30 tops in a week . Seems daft for me to use it so may get myself a small GV !!!Seen a few ;)

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

CCP so pleased Isis is okay. Good thinking re the tuna in oil. I used to put a scant teaspoon of olive oil on the cat's food in those circumstances, thank goodness it didn't happen very often

That's a good idea, thanks - I'll try it if it happens again. I assumed it was the oil that was the medicinal part, with the tuna used to make it palatable to a cat, but Isis isn't a great fish lover so it didn't really work. A splash of flavourless oil on her favourite chicken-in-gravy catfood might be more to her taste.
Beef Stew, bubbling away, surely a dumpling goes not a stray?

It didn't go astray, it ended up on my plate.

    1) Went to buy a new washing up bowl as my old one got used as a drip-catcher (and had a crack in it anyway), and found a nice turquoise one RTC to £1. :money:

    2) Walking along a road I've used at least 100 times and suddenly spotted, down an alleyway, a Dutch-gabled Edwardian pub / hotel, seemingly abandoned and crumbling but still a handsome building. There's so little of pre-war central Portsmouth left that I appreciate every building I spot.

    3) The rest of Isis' medicinal tuna will be turned into my favourite tuna pasta bake for dinner tonight.

I'm suffering from a bad bout of Monday-itis so I think that's all I can do today - it's always good to have a few spares in hand, though. ;)
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all.

Five pleasures for later on on Monday:

    1. Went for what ended up being the longest walk I've done so far this year. It incorporated the W8rz coffee machine en route where I encountered a very nice woman who confessed (first) that she was only passing through the shop for her free coffee and not shopping because she was waiting to collect her daughter from her gym session. I'm not quite ready to try the whole walk yet, but I'm working on developing a circular route through town, via the library, past the coffee machine, and then on to the river and floodplain (and seats for a little sit down and read and hot drink ;) - I know how to do this exercise lark in luxury!) prior to doing the next bit of the circle to take me back home. I'm thinking that it may work out at about 7000 steps which is what I should be managing daily by April. There will be lots of spring flowers and less risk of the river flooding by then. :D

    2. Lots of smiley people on my walk. :D

    3. Chatted on the phone with a friend who seemed to like the birthday present I'd sent her very much.

    4. A kind of forward pleasure, but Sparrer's mention of the next series of Call the Midwife. That's what I'll put on while I do some ironing a bit later on.

    5. Needed to finish up another bag of small potatoes so am making rosemary roasted ones again and, yet again, the smell is permeating the house. Yum.

    Sweet dreams

Mind, Molly? Not in the slightest, it's good to hear from you and everyone is welcome here, plus you'll usually find someone to answer most queries like VJsmums useful link :)
mhags well done on the driving, all on your own. When ex OH and I went our separate ways it took a lot of courage to drive round the M25, now I just call it the slow lane - all 4 lanes of it :p
Broomstick it was pretty this morning wasn't it? Even if blooming cold. Good for you getting an early start, I did too (see why below)
lfs I shouldn't have chuckled, what a missed opportunity but you must have needed the sleep ;). DFV's DH got the right idea, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em although I have to say the train set sounds fun!
chicken bet you didn't feel an iota of remorse eating your tasty lunch, quite right too. Loving the lighter evenings already, no lights on til gone 5 this evening. Spring is coming :D
CCP the turquoise bowl sounds lovely, and even more so as it was such a bargain

    1. Got up at 7am as the gas man was due between 8 and 1, whipped round with the vac and duster, had a quick breakfast and washed up then sat and waited. And waited. Thought I'd phone DD to pass some time when she said she thought that as I was going to be away this week hadn't I booked the gas man for next Monday? At least the house was clean and tidy by 8am!
    2. DD and I decided to go out for lunch, had a bargain two meals for one
    3. Called in to £land as DD needed one or two things, she got a 6 for 5 voucher which she gave to me so I bought more grass seed, general plant food and some tomato food. And got another 6 for 5 voucher! Will use this one for some outdoor lights.
    4. Bought a dye for some off-white towels and bathmat, they're a very smart denim blue now
    5. Have a leek, onion, celery, potato, pearl barley and shredded lamb soup bubbling away in the sc. Can't wait for tomorrow lunchtime

    Sweet dreams :)

Evening all - tempted to do this demain, but that's already overloaded, so...

    1. Just back from Glasgow. Loved my train journeys. Despite 'lineside problems' near Berwick, then Morpeth - 45 mins delay - still managed to be in time for last bus back to village. All the Mr T finessing worked perfectly. Lovely Glasgow YH stay. Super dins hier soir at La Bonne Auberge. All done in French as delightful and so attractive young waitress is from Haute-Savoie and asked if we could continue evening in her langue maternelle. OUI! Volontiers, disais-je:-) Arrived nearly 3 years since, to improve her English, then trouv-e acuted un petit copain....:-) I do love Glasgow.

    2. It's been a glorious w/e every which way. So glad I did this one.

    3. Wilkinson 15 - Glasgow 8. A touch cruel, this having been a vital must win for GW.
Glasgow played their hearts and souls out in the final qtr - even crossed the Toulon line - but couldn't do enough. Weather held off. Then, another amazing coincidence at level akin to that of &'s birthday kind last week in London. Pics to prove blah blah and much marvellous time and talk, wine and dine post-match with the Glasgow team. Recognised by other Toulon supporters, more i/v stuff, more expatriate-Toulon type alliances, acquaintances made. Pics to email/exchange.

    4. Rubens apples are gorgeous and they travel brilliantly.

    5. Did Blochairn Fruit Mkt bootie pre-6am hier. Recognised by nice couple from a couple of years back! Hope I've struck lucky on a couple of things. Same lady told me about Antiques Fair @Bellehouston that afternoon, so offloaded bits at YH then straight back out by noon[used£4 all day travel tkts Sat/Sun], had lovely meander round, a few little purchases[particularly love a little pair of silver herring implements, cutlery akin to a nursery pusher and little stubby fork. They're absolute little sweethearts, beautifully chased herring on each] but had barely done half-perimeter when I quasi-felt, then half-saw The Thing. Asked man if I could see what it was, mostly still wrapped, poked behind folding shelf drapery. 'Ah yes...I keep getting interrupted' We began to chat. Felt his stall could have been mine. The Thing is another one for Dr L at the Fitzwilliam - it gives me a good, good feeling. Paid a bit...after trekking on a late Sunday arvo to a blutty Asda, over 2 miles each way, as there was no hole-in-wall nearer. Was determined to do it and did. He'd promised to hold The Thing for me. Understanding what it is to hear this In the Trade, left £10 and set off. Nightmare walk, crossing motorway but just felt I must secure The Thing; even more, must walk to justify so doing. So, circle squared, all done, most of the Fair packed up by the time & got back, but ça y est. Research now needed on Oriental bronze mirrors. I had a couple about 12 years ago, but not like this chap - deep piece and quite large, guessing 22cm, fantastically teeming with writhing sea monsters, dancing monkeys, all small, lovely, vital, intricate, distinct, individual, playing and linking in/out/through multi-formed foliage. Hmmm.....on verra. But is all that verdigris of a piece with age? Even if not, it is just such a fabulous thing, great in the hand, heavy, full of dialect and doing to me.

I'll revisit a few more pleasures in a day or two - pressure week starts now.
Welcome to dingdong...yes, I was Leslie Phillips-ing too. Marvellous that you've joined us. We'll expect a contraction by contraction report, you do realise, don't you?
All sorts of good catching up reads here, noted en route:
ccp, another 'do as chicken says re: rent' from me. How is ls now?
    Think sparrer said same.
bop - that boy Raffles is need..........wha?wha?? wha??? just lost rest, having had a sudden mse message 'please contact Admin if you think you have been unfairly blocked'
Sod that - sorry peeps, not retyping that lot again now.
Off to re-zap once-upon-a-time hot drink.

Blessings to all of you and Nighty-night. That IS how I ended.

Pleasures for today (still glued to sofa!)

    1) Not too bad a sleep.

    2) Sons had good days at school.

    3) Put a few things on EBay.

    4) Looking forward to going to bed just now and listening to the Archers and The Unbelievable Truth.

    5) Had sausage and mash for tea and cooked up some beetroot. Thought I'd add some beetroot to my tea thinking my indigestion can't get any worse. Had about 20 minutes with no symptoms at all except a bit of a bruised feeling! Perhaps I'll just eat beetroot tomorrow, I've 3 left.

    Evening everyone! :hello:

Just done some school work, so I'm having a break on here and then I'll have a little read of my book! :D

    So, my pleasures for today:

    1) DH cooked supper! :j

    2) NSD

    3) Hoping that the quarter final match for the European cup will be confirmed soon as there is potential for DH and I to get there using Avois points... but I don't want the flights to go as if we have to pay *real* money it'll be a no go area.

    4) Spending far too long on Pinterest. So many lovely things. *sigh*

    5) I don't knit, but I've just seen this link for a free pattern for a herdy hot water bottle cover

Right, my eyes are closing so I'd better go. Night all.
