Evening all,
Hope you are well. Just got back from date 3 with the Kiwi Boy. Am not so sure about him any more. I do this everytime!!! I think I should have been a bloke because of my fear of commitment!
Anyway so..
1) The beautiful sunshine and the fact that I managed to escape the office for half an hour at lunchtime for a little walk
2) Everyone like my weird chocolare brownies... which I had to bill a chocolate fudgy things so that my colleagues weren't too disappointed. They all saif they were really nice, if not a little odd!
3) Took my own lunch to work... yummy roast veg and cous cous
4) Completing two of the 4 documents that I have to do for our team that is bidding on one of the Olympic contracts
5) Yummy dinner with the Kiwi Boy even though the chat doesn't really seem to flow... not really sure what to do about that. I like my men to be strong minded and very knowledgeable about the world around them... and he isn't really...
6) Listening to Just a Minute on Radio 4 - that always makes me laugh.
Have a lovely evening... and enjoy your Tuesday
TamsinMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Go for it Tabs, I wish I had when the opportunity arose instead of looking back today and saying if only..
Lol Megs mum, I have lint rollers in every room, brush all three every night and I still look like I'm dressed in mohair! The mogs are white and the mutt is blue and white :doh:so I tell people not to wear black if they're coming to visit
Ollie I've only flown scheduled before too, but hear some people wear a shoulder bag under their coat on low cost flights. I've got one which I could use if they don't expect me to take my coat off through the ringy thingy, as you say tickets, tabs etc have to be handy. And have you seen the size (or lack of) of those little island planes?!!
Please don't stop jexy, dreaming about places like your lovely loch-side home takes me away from this tedious life for a while
Love your No 4 Caterina, how lovely to just be yourselves, not worry about what anyone else thinks, run and laugh and really enjoy life :T
You managed well newlywed, it would throw a lot of people off to go without leccy for so long at this time of year but good for you taking all in your stride
bella many congrats to your DGS, clever boy :j
Sorry you don't feel 'it' with KiwiBoy Ladyhawk, but at least you've had a couple of nice evenings out and the anticipation that went with them
My 5 -
1. Sitting in the Sunshine
2. Phoning one of the organisers to ask directions from the airport to the hotel on Thurs and she said she's arranging for someone to meet me...we don't even know each other so what a kind gesture :A
3.Doing my end of Feb household accounts and finding I've still got £65, which I've split between the car tax (May), DS's wedding (Sept) and the shed fund (asap!)
4. Calling in to Mr M's on my way out this evening and finding those little boxes of mini cakes at half price, so bought some to take with me and share
5. Earning enough points to 'buy' another Amazon voucher, that will be for DSiL's birthday on Friday
Night night (((hugs)))everyone, stay safe
S x0 -
Another inspiring morning here. Sparkly sun on the frosted grass (and the bonus is that 8 paws will come back from our morning walk in the woods NOT caked in mud to spread evenly through the house!)
Here are my 5:
1. Reading everyone else's posts and having a laugh!
2. Sunny walk in the woods with two dogs whoses noses are on hyperdrive.
3. Noticing increased flexibility at yoga.
4. Eating well and not being tempted (The Queen is in charge, the chimp is slapped down)
5. Having a lovely husband and not having to go to work (sorry guys - it was posts mentioning lesson plans and kids being wild due to the full moon - reminded me that the choice I have right now of pottering in the greenhouse or making soup is just great.)
Enjoy your day. I will.

Morning Eveyone,
Mine for yesterday:
1. Really busy day at work but felt really good as learn't some new things and felt part of the team.
2. No spend day, when I went for a walk at lunchtime I didn't take my purse so couldn't be tempted
3. The sun shining plus the nights are getting lighter so didn't have to walk home from work in the dark.
4. Dinner with friends at a local restaurant, food was really good and we didn't have to pay as it was a thankyou from friends for electrical work OH had done for them.
5. Lift home from restaurant as was quite frosty last night.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Very hard to scrape five pleasures from yesterday after a very bad-mood day caused by a closed road on the way to DH's work lead to a 20 minute detour (so that's an extra 80 mins of driving around single lane muddy back roads every day for the next two weeks ) and a huge row with DH last night over his book-hoarding (the expense, the space it commands, his double-standards ).
Still *takes serene deep breath* here are mine from yesterday:
1) Had a nice chat with friends at the boy's sports club yesterday.
2) The sunshine.
3) DS2 doesn't have conunctivitis after all but an eyelid infection - so he doesn't have to worry about the dreaded eye drops.
4) A lovely tea of Swedish meatballs, creamy gravy and chips.
5) Went to bed at 10pm to avoid talking to DH! Had a good night's sleep.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt

Morning all  - and what a beautiful start to the day it is
- light frost on the ground, but clear blue skies with the sun shining.
CCP - shame about your spice cake but wd on your Tomato and Veg Casserole :j. Love the idea of a March Storecupboard Challenge - definitely needed here - so I'll see how far we can go without buying anything this month - will use up some Diced Turkey today for a spicey Turkey and Veg with Pasta.
elizabunny - such a shame about your bacon buttie - how well I know that feeling of 'which do I want more, the food-treat or the hearburn?' - with me it's pastry - pass the Rennies, please!
Caterina - wd to you and your DD for using the 'Open-air Council Gym' - what a wonderful way to keep-fit AND enjoy the lovely weather :j!
pepsimax - how lovely of your dd's school to encourage them to go in school in Welsh costume for St.David's Day. Makes you wonder, though, what would kids wear for St.George's Day - just what constitutes 'English Costume'?
newlywed - wd to you and your family for coping so well without electricity - I know we all laugh and joke about the power cuts of the early 70's, but we are so much more dependent on electricity NOW than we were back then.
jem1276 - wd on your ebaying weekend - hope your stuff sells well :T
nuttybabe - glad you liked that site - I just googled 'clothes for sock monkeys' and that was one that came up. wow - you've had a busy weekend - cleaning, cooking, baking, laundry x3, sock monkey-ing - phew!
GirlySquare - no wonder you're worried about your mum's welfare when he left it until she arrived home before putting the heating on  - he needs to realise that they money they receive is for HER benefit as well as his and she NEEDS the extra warmth due to her lack of mobility. Have you had mum's benefits checked out to make sure that she receives all she's entitled to?
bella - wd on giving OH a 'warm job' to doand wtg on getting an extra portion of Cottage Pie out of your batch of mince :T.
Kittikins - wd on being picked for a Tesco testing panel :j. wd to your DD for being in the assembly :T.
ACEY - What a great weekend you've had - and how lovely to be entrusted with your great-grandmother's wedding ring.
Carolynita - good to know that your cyst is responding to the treatment you've had. Enjoy your trip to the off-shore platform - how exciting.
house elf - wd on all that 'jeans modifying' :j and what a lovely m-i-l you've got :T. Great idea of testing your whiteboard lesson on your ds first :rotfl:. That moon was definitely 'something else' last night!
Ladyhawk - sorry to hear that your relationship with Mr Kiwi isn't going according to plan - but if he's not what you were hoping for, then that's all there is to it. Whole point of courtship is to test out each other as to suitability.
sparrer - lol - the only planes I've ever flown on are those giant transatlantic ones - still not loads of space on them though - I do wear a shoulder bag across my body under my jacket. How about a 'bum-bag' around your middle? Lovely gesture from the hotel ownersand wd on having money left at the end of the month instead of month at the end of the money
.
Megsmum - love your description of 'dogs' noses on hyperdrive' - I can just picture them like a pair of bloodhounds lol. I do envy you your choices and can see that you appreciate being able to HAVE that choice :T.
Tealady - wd on your nsd and not taking your purse with you on your walk :j - and what a lovely thanks you from your friends to take you both out for a meal like that.
Blimus - sorry to hear that yesterday wasn't a good one for you and OH. Hope your OH can overcome his book-hoarding habit - I have one the same. He has books stashed in two wardrobes, three book cases AND in his own flat - drives me potty . Love the sound of your Swedish meatballs - didn't happen to come from a certain furniture store, did they
Mine for yesterday:
1. Relaxing morning and laundry done.
2. Trip to DD and to take dgs1 to the dentist. He was very good, had a couple of root-pieces (chunks) removed from a crumbled 'baby-tooth' to enable the '2nd tooth' to come through and a filling in a baby-tooth. The 'happy gas' helped to relax him enough for the dentist to rub his gum with the 'bubblegum gel' and 'do the needle' without him erupting into full panic mode. Needs to go back again on March 31st for another couple of little fillings, but he's getting used to going now and trusts this lady-dentist.
3. OH arrived at DD's and we had a lovely hour or so just sitting in her house nice and quiet.
4. Came home on the bus and collected Chicken Chow Mein on the walk back - didn't want to have to start cooking at 7.30! Noticed the full-moon with it's 'frosty halo' last night.
5. Yesterday's washing all dry on the airer and rad rails :j.
Oh well, better get ready for a day's work - will pop back in again later in the day. love Ollie xxx0 -
Morning all! My 5 for yesterday:
1. My lovely work colleague back after her week off - good to see her again.
2. Returning a scart lead to Currys for a refund - my brother told me where I could get one that was 1/30 (yes, 1/30!!) of the price.
3. Said brother going and buying the scart lead for me and dropping it round my house last night. He has his good points...
4. Another 1,800 words on my short story, which is now over 18,000 words long. About another 4,000 will see it completed. Writing makes me so happy.
5. Early night, in bed with two gorgeous cats, and the Lonely Planet guide to Chile and Easter Island (from the library, of course) so I could do some planning for my trip.
6. Makimg a batch of hummus that will do nicely for lunch tomorrow.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -

BlimusOreilly wrote: »Lovely reading everyone elses pleasures. Had a very quiet day yesterday and it's hard to think of any obvious pleasures - but that's the good thing about this thread - look deeper and there is always joy!
So here are mine for yesterday:
1) A lie-in.
2) Took a detour from my very lengthy wordy book about Haiti and picked up a 'thriller' from the library. Kill Chain by Meg Gardiner. Very fast-paced and un-put-downable.
3) A bath in the middle of the day with above book.
4) Delish sub-style roll with whoopsied turkey breast and salad.
5) Watched 'Grey Gardens' about Jackie O's 'odd' aunt and cousin. Fascinating but hard on the ears with all their screeching. Need to look out for the dramatization of it that was shown on More4 - hope it'll be on again.
Just wanted to add that my thoughts go out to everyone in Chile.
When my free Freeview box turned up last week I noticed it was on after the documentatry last Thursday. I dont know if it will be on channel 4 on demand as it wasnt available after the Christmas screening tho.Have seen the first few mins of the Drew one and it seems to go back and forth between classic reenactments of the documentary scenes such as Edie doing baton twirling and scenes of the in the past in their heydays..What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
