Broomstick - 3 of MrN's panels are lying in my garden. I think they'll probably be there for a good few years! Unless I smash them up for starting sticks.
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) A lie in. The last one for a while!
2) Went to my school friend's mum and dad's for lunch (so did my friend!) Lovely casserole with dumplings then Christmas pudding.
3) Back home to meet up with another school friend and her daughter.
4) Sons are back!
5) Good to have the train running upstairs again.0 -
DfV the oven/grill won't be used for a very long time! I manage well with the sc, mw and steamer so it's not an essential, more a place to store baking tins
Broomstick good to hear you and your parents are all on the mend
Wow CCP your Isis is the image of DNeighbour's Tango, in looks and character by the sound of it. Both utterly gorgeous
Yang is very poorly, he's refusing food and losing weight rapidly just as Ying did earlier in the year so I'm naturally very worried about him. The vet is open tomorrow so will give him a call but won't be able to see him until at least Thursday due to my own hospital appt beforehand. I have to remind myself that feline diabetes is not hereditary so am hoping it's something less drastic this time. Everything x'ed - for both of us!
1. Like you chicken I collect and shred paper, mine for DD's dogs winter bedding. How I manage to get a sack almost every week I'm not sure but very little paper escapes my shredder
2. A very heavy frost this morning butyellow thing was shining all day!
3. Good lunch out with friends, one of whom I haven't seen for a few month so lots of gossip and catching up done
4. Am on liquids only diet from tomorrow for 30 hours so have been enjoying all my favourite foods today, melon, stinky cheese with ciabatta, pannetone....feel a bit ick now!
5. Someone returned some money they owed me so that's gone into the NZ fund. So the saving has started, I'm on my wayThat's just reminded me of savingforoz, wonder what/how she's doing these days. She's not posted for more than a year but does anyone ever hear from her?
Sweet dreams0 -
Sparrer -((hugs)) re Yang xx
VJsmum- I love tall people especially very tall men. Around 20 of 'em trying to wind in their limbs to fit into normal sized furniture feels very Alice in Wonderland ! Nice to see that CamNolliesmum is making Yum Yum pies too ! It is THE LAW !
CCP - Loved the Isis story
Have a good day all! Off to work and the OGV's alarm was kicking off at 5am - poor neighbours:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Welcome newbies. If you want recipes, then just check under my apron.
I see ISIS has got the run round CCP then. Raffles is well at home now. He loves fish.
5 Bacon, eggs and Snorkers this morning. With fried toast and Tom Toms. Washed down with cha.
4 Raffles, well in fact any cat, cannot stand on laminated flooring. Just this morn, he was mountain lioning on the bedstead, and when I went down to put on the Snorkers, he leapt from top step to bottom in one, unders me feet, turned and skidded into the dining room door post. He is baffled, but licking his paws.
3 there days are getting longing, but it will be next week before the sunrise pulls back in. Yellow thing ordered for Easter.
Two gether with BoPsie at night. Kind hearts and Coronets. Classic Ealing stuff, like.
1 Opine if you may, but listen you should.
Right, just feeding remnants of bacon curd to Raffles. He also enjoys Tom Tom sauce. Blessed thing!
Hugs to all, :heartpuls to those with germs and the needy.0 -
Morning all. Dark, wet and windy out feels very gloomy compared to yesterday
1. sun shining
2. gate fixed with help of DS, hammer and nails
3. walk round local pond, ducks in loud voice..
4. ....and dropped some bottles off at bottle bank that have been lurking for a while
5. DS off to gf house for tea so no need for me to cook
Am off fridge freezer hunting this morning. Have had a look online but its hard to tell the size even with the measurements. Will try and find one I like then try and find cheapest supplier...
.... Did I mention that the blooming old one turned itself off again the evening before we went away for xmas? Had to chuck some half used stuff out that would not travel well and packed rest into cool bags and cooked/ate it at DP's. When we got home we used the fix from the tinternet and its running again but not sure how long for as this is the 3rd time its developed the same fault and am wary of filling it up again. At the moment the freezer shelves are full of newspaper and frozen water in old coke bottles. Must get some food in today...
Sparrer, hope its nothing serious with Yang (((hugs))))

5. OH bought in a box of books and I now have another 4 random thrillers to amuse me!
Gettin a bit down with feeling so useless. The fairy inside is frustrated! Even if I want to, I physically can't do things. Oh well, it's getting better, slowly.
And I looked in the new diary to transfer birthdays(I cannot remember them without!) and there were the words, dad died.
Next year WILL be better.

((hugs)) re your diary entry . Still hits you like a Mack Truck
4 for today
1. Work was ok - hardly any people in and it was quiet on the phone front but busy on the email front as had a lot sent to me whilst on Xmas leave.Nothing too serious.
2. Great nephew who lives miles away is staying with his grandad (ex BIL) round the corner and was at DM's when I got home. It's nice to see him on his own.
3. It stayed lighter tonight. The hens were still out in their run when I got in.
4.East tea of chicken chow mein.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Pleasures for today
1. got to "curries" early and checked out all the fridge freezers before the hoards arrived. car park was filling up as I left.... I've found one to suit us reduced from £449 to £269 .... just got to force myself to buy it nowTrouble is the old one has worked perfectly since we got home... blooming typical.... but its just a matter of time before it goes kaput again I think and turns itself off ... trying to convince myself
2. decided to get my weekly shop at Moressons - as it is just round corner from "curries" and torrential rain/blowing a gale here - was surprised how quiet it was and pleased it came in at under £50 even with the extra NY eve nibbles and NY Day nosh. (I usually shop at ald!)
3. HM veg soup for lunch
4. got more of the washing mountain done and out on line as it had brightened up after lunch.
5. House tidied hoovered and bathroom cleaned. How does it get so dirty when we have not been here!0% credit card £1360 & 0% Car Loan £7500 ~ paid in full JAN 2020 = NOW DEBT FREE 🤗

lovefullshelves - huge hugs to you. :grouphug:
My OS pleasures for the day:
1) Paid the water bill. Not a pleasure, but the fact that we now put money aside each month for these things, as opposed to before when we'd dip into the overdraft (and beyond). Still makes me feel good.
2) Done a couple of batches for the freezer. Made Carrot and Leek soup and then Chicken tikka masala. Feeling quite virtuous now!
3) Finished a book! A nice bit of chick lit, perfect for this time of year. It's Christmas with Mr Darcy. I tweeted the author to say how much I enjoyed it and she tweeted me back. Really happy!
4) Working through today's "to do" list. And actually getting it done! There is the small matter of "sort guest room" which is still on there though.... Hmmm.....
5) Got £5 off my Mr T's shopping because I paid for it using my credit card. There's some deal with my card company where if I spent £10 in Mr T's, they'd give me £5 back. Sadly that's not EVERY multiple of £10 I spend, but as Mr T says, "Every Little Helps" :rotfl: I shop in Mr T's anyway, so it's a lovely Brucie bonus!
Better go and box up the curry to go in the freezer.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0
