The 'disappearing post', which used to be mine, seems to be cuckoo-nesting elsewhere. Sorry to everyone thus afflicted.
pk - pompoms are easy using 2 circles of cardboard. Cut out small inner circle and wind wool through, all the way round until the middle is filled or you've done as much as you want/have. Now use scissors/blade between the cardboard discs and cut that outer woolly circle all the way round. Take STRONG thread and strangle everything in the middle, tie tightly, remove cordboard discs...oh,& is fool. Just occurred to me that youtube prob. has something:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a03BTR3_3qg - slightly different but near enough.
I don't even use cardboard for small ones, just hand.

    1. A phone matter that can take hours happened almost at once, quickest ever in fact, and this was a real lift, as was result.

    2. Dealt with something else, ongoing.

    3. Found other wallet, relief.

    4. Much better l-h visit. Odd and unlikely kindnesses there. Even more unlikely reverbe's, two! - £1 and 20p.

    5. Advanced something else. Brick wall may not be impregnable. More quiet insistent persistence today, but must keep Spits prep.in sights.

    6. Subsequent w8rs and Mr T both turned up trumps. En bref, 3 wombles of 103, 91 and 55 pts,[just on £10 in Deals] plus 2x 'money off next shop' tillspits, £2.04 and 48p, All were abandoned in one trolley! Bargains too - w8rs asparagus, vac-packed mussels in sauce, salmon etc, and then the promo's kicked in...:-) Just over £60 full-price came in at £6.84!!! Was so happy to drop lots off en route back.

    7. Neighbour accepted that specialist's appt in March is aeons too far off, given current state of wracked mobility and pain. Allowed me to interfere and phone Surgery, explain. Home visit this afternoon.

    8. Ben Stokes' innings.[edit p.s.: oh, NZ-born, quelle surprise. Bit of a roustabout? Like his pa? and some look of Prince Harry?]

    9. ISIHAC - t'riffic, esp. Jack Dee's relentless[matched loathing?]battering of JAM.

What ever today brings, may yours be unstressed, ms, soothing, calm, aware of real things...and lots of festive music.

So glad you liked 'Precious Metals' broomstick.

    Evening all :)

Sunny day and bed stripped and just to be remade....note to self...do before bedtime!

Lists written and all ticked as done.

Cases down and my pile of clothes ready to go in.

Having chicken stir fry using leftover m-early Christmas chicken! And the first courgette from the garden:)

    Only 2 tiny sleeps :)

    Have a cheerful Tuesday
  • Cauli Cheese, Pom Poms, bunny girls, sleep inns, souts, sellotape, Surely some plastic bottle in there?
Candles. Good job they not on the xmas cake!!! Oh, did I miss the macaroni cheese! HM Chilli, all things silly
    Boo Gar, blooming aussies, arrrrrgh!!!

I am having a mole day. A day of digging, tunnelling and then coming up in the roses. Yeah. No Hoss hit here!

5 newbie chick recipe, must try. I always has roast buzzard and jam. You nose, you’ll be glad you tried it.. Now as it is I who wears the apron in our house, we does lick the sticky chicken. Spoon of black treacle. It has to be black. Squirt of the Tom Puree. Wince of lemon, freshly squeezed. You can use the other one for pancakes! Bit of hot water, helps the treacle off the spoon. Add Garam Masala, garlic, ginger (freshly grated) and chilli to taste. Toast at 180C for 35 minutes. Pour a wobbleade, feet up, enjoy. I waer the apron.

4 I hear that the news about the girl who works in the chip shop with Elvis was not mysteriously wiped out by an accident so created so horrifically by some members of an elite squadron of pongo’s is not rue then. I await a up issue for my private Eye, with relish. As well as those hi[p investigations on my twitter feed about vapour trails and global changes in weather. Gosh the moon was close this morning. Do you think its affected my beard?

3 Football tonight. Probably has one of the burgers with salad. Veggie ones at our place, with chips. Only time we have dog burger and chips to share.

2 Well, I am going off now to have my claw sarnies. Clawed crab by Ms BosPsie, with marmite and fruit salad. See the use of food banks is up. Must be Christmas. Then I read the baship of Kent has some remark on the fest orgy of greed at this time of year. Then I think hang on there boys. Did not the Baships say he was going to compete with the Pay day lenders. Obviously then he has failed to get across the message about the fairy tale. Possibly they thrive because of the needs of the people that use them, and social services, the baship are too controlling. This from a group that implied an ened to poverty, yet took control of the food banks as well. We muist remember that the church got its money, because those within it were nit allowed to marry. Hence the money became self incestuous. Alas, the minimum wage has failed, what will happen to the living wage?

1 When you’re in an aircraft, and see a rainbow, you notice it is like a halo, a circle, a glory with no end. On earth it ends in a pot of Gold.

    1. Picked DD up from school this afternoon, a rarity :) She saw me through her classroom window and started jumping up and down :):)

    2. Have booked tickets for us and a couple of her chums to go to a fab science show during the holidays :)

    3. A day at home, sorting bits and pieces out....not enough, but some!

    4. Have booked a freebie event for next summer as well!

    5. Looking forward to helping out at DD's school disco tonight, I must be mad!!

    6. Also looking forward to getting TONS of work done in the library tomorrow, here's hoping I get the next dreaded essay started...is it too much to hope?!

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Got the bus to work this morning - I missed the one I intended to get by about 30 seconds () but the roads are so quiet at this time of year that the next one still got me there at a reasonable time.

    2) Office Christmas lunch which was nicer than I was expecting, and so filling I won't need any dinner tonight, and possibly not tomorrow night either!

    3) My impromptu quiz went down very well, and my manager insisted on buying me a glass of wine to thank me for doing it.

    4) Came home and watched the Muppet Christmas Carol - or kind of half watched it, and half watched Isis whirlwinding with her ball.

    5) Pub quiz tonight, and no work tomorrow so it doesn't matter if it finishes late (which I expect it will, somehow!).
Back after a very long break!

Forgot a strange little pleasure for yesterday (well, it amused me!)

Walking away from school with smaller son, 2 of the 3 boys I stopped fighting the other day were AGAIN having a go at K. Pushing him to the floor this time. I did my stealthy walking up behind them again and they looked up and M (the ring leader) said "C's MUUUUUM" and they ran off! Ooo, the power!

    Pleasures for today so far:

    1) Not too bad a sleep. Got the tail end of a nasty cold.

    2) Hair cut at local college. The student did a thorough job then the teacher always comes to check and she was like Edward Scissorhands, scything through it and chopping and thinning bits (I'm sure there is a technical term for adding texture!) £5 today and we all had a free cup of tea and mince pie. :-)

    3) Quick trip to Sainsburys and the Christmas shopping is one more step closer to being finished.

    4) Mum and dad's for a cup of tea.

    5) Meeting with smaller son's TA. He is in gold zone again today (so entitled to go to the Gold Zone party this week). Today he was commended for answering 3 questions in class (he didn't talk for 3 years in his previous school!) and holding the door open for the SENCo. Anyway, had a look through his books and it's all quite splendid. :-) She hadn't got his "levels" with her but they'll tell me tomorrow how he is doing in that way.

    6) Just given the kitchen a good clean, put together about 200 plastic bags I've hoarded under the stairs that I will give to the village shop and wrapped the rest of the presents.

    7) Looking forward to Holby City.

    8) Will also enjoy ISIHAC later now I've mended the laptop! The cable went the same way as Broomstick's (I think?) and I've just changed the plug.

kittikins - ah, library time. <fond memories> and Brownies Christmas party! <more nostalgia!> You get to pick up DD?! Hurrah! School disco? Ooo-er! Take it steady with the essays...
sparrer - dead right to recover after a hard weekend's cossetting, but to get meals into the freezer, wrestle ebay into submission *&* install software! <awe!>
purple kitten - all my pompom makers were cut out of cereal packets & you may find ferrets enjoy those anyway! All the best with remaining work & then MiL visit.
Chickenopolis - for reasons I can't explain, I somehow think you'd make a wonderful bunny girl, scraggy tail or not!
BlueSky1 - welcome! You've put your finger on some lovely OS pleasures!
Ampersand - superlative wombles there! Hoping the medics have something more to offer than cottonwoolskull in a packet.
mhagster - make that bed soon - nothing so draining as wanting to slump & having to tango with sheets & duvetcovers first. That said, clean bedlinens a delight. First courgette! Awww!
BoP - The Moon was so close I wanted to reach over & hug it! Cut the bash some slack - if he can knock wonga out of everyday vocab then hurrah!
camNolliesMUMMY - right with you having to clear the car out before anyone else sees it! (Cleared mine, and had to wash my hands... Eeek.) The chips sound wonderful!
CCP - worth enduring the bus to get a vino from the boss! I *love* the Muppet Christmas Carol - cuddle Isis (if she'll hold still for it!) from me. All the best with tonight's quiz!
Frith - defender of small persons & Wrath of God to ungodly! Shopping almost done, smaller son speaking up, stray bags to village shop, even fixing laptop - Bravo!

    OS Pleasures
Two for one - great big full moon lighting the drive & Eartha Kitt managing to combine perfect diction with absolute vamp on Santa Baby. (One of our nursery classics - stunning voice, manageable lyrics, weak-with-laughter parents...)

First serious frost, and the satisfaction of getting all glass & lights clear.

After a no-holds barred spree on San Pellegrino at Costco, agreed two mixed pallets with a pal & we both returned home well satisfied. Toil & Trouble, us two, & much given to only-just-seemly mirth.

Coldly & feverish child, limply resting between coughs, managed an impish chuckle that he'd gone on the 100% attendance skating trip already.

Application form for new job three quarters finished & my creative juices have run out. Bedtime story tonight will be pure Grimm!

Big hugs to all those who need them, courage serenity wisdom & a lump hammer (for when serenity fails) freely available as needed & How Many Sleeps?!
