  • LFS Jenny sends Beep, Beep, Yareh!
  • Ampersand - right with you on wanting more of the yellow stuff. As for Dr.W, in a household of lads, I have very little say...
CCP - Isis has mislaid her mouse? Blame Raffles - it makes as much sense! I've a snuffling colleague who is working & fending off the "what are you doing here" queries too. Christmas horse show tickets? Tell on? Soon to have two mice Isis!
Purple kitten - all the best of luck with the job applications! Hurrah for a well stuffed Kindle... and delighted to read you are having a happy birthday!
Tealady - "it would be a lovely job without the users", eh? Happy haircut!
Broomstick - fresh veg & a good laugh with friends are special pleasures.
Frith - tweet conversations?! <awe> Happy Birthday Dad Frith!
DD - Kurdistan - which governorates? (Reminds me of Wales before Glyndwr.) Fun!
sparrer - snow gone - now mostly rain. Waiting for gasmnan so baking day? Wonderful!
lovefullshelves - Just stay as horizontal as necessary until February. Christmas, Apart from the Bits You Want, is Orf. All the very best, and heal! Internet shopping is the sensible way to go & you've More Consumer Rights. Twelve weeks.
mhagster - sounds a glorious 17th birthday - very well done creating the magic! Ah, clean bedding...
BoP - glad to hear Raffles has MsBoP in training. And that the Aussies are getting a pasting.
Chickenopolis - kindly dispenser of 20% off M&S vouchers! And you can receive a compliment with grace too <applauds, bemused>
    OS Pleasures
I *think* I saw the Space Station! On it's 16th birthday, too - can't see any incipient tantrums (or presents) from here... If I have, no wonder the medieval church was in two minds about star gazing - I definitely feel exalted! (Also cold around the fingers again.)
If I'm late in such a cause, may as well do it properly. I shall hie me off to Messers W for a (freebie) hot beverage... Lovely bloke in the staff apologised for wriggling past me & we had a grin over the stunning Danish pastries.
Good day at desk - learned New Thing which always makes me happy.
Parents evening comms breakdown (memo - use the "remind me" option!) means I'll get there in time but not as prepared as I like to be. Ach, of all days.
Retired colleague (stretchered off w heart problem at five-a-side)
confirmed for triple bypass but let out of hospital - huge relief as the younger players had never seen a man go grey before. More hot sweet tea all round, bless 'em.

Great big hugs to all who need them, very careful but equally big hearted hugs to lovefullshelves and mind how you go!

    Evening

    PK - Happy Birthday:bdaycake:

    Pleasures for today
    1. OH couldn't sleep so came downstairs which meant I had a great nights sleep :D
    2. Went for lunch with friend, we did intend to have soup in the office but both needed to get out and she had a voucher. Will have soup tomorrow
    3. Work over for another day. No rudeness today but a few tears and tantrums over new system. So put on best patient face (doesn't come naturally) and soothed ruffled feathers.
    4. No one was hungry tonight so cheese and beans on toast for dinner, was lovely

Hugs to all who need them

LFS - so pleased you're on the mend.

Only one day until the weekend, thank goodness.

My 5 for the last couple of days:

    1) Banquet night at a curry house with a friend last night. ie it's cheap!!!

    2) Spag bol tonight. Padded out with loads of veg so that's 4 portions for the freezer! Whoop :money:

    4) Managed to get a free trial for a REALLY good resource at school. My class are onto it!

    5) Don't know whether I mentioned it, but I won a £20 voucher towards a Local Deal on Travelzoo. Afternoon tea treat for me!

    Sleep well. x

Blimey, LFS. Another one here who is glad you were not dedded. And you won't have to worry about getting appendicitis in the future! I was trying to work out 12 weeks recovery and I think you'll be having a quiet Christmas but a cheerful Valentines Day.

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Sons had a good day at school and smaller son's friend who keeps getting kicked was not kicked today.

    3) Went into local town and looked round the charity shops but nothing there.

    4) Had to take some money out of my piddly little ISA as the cat repairs have made my current account nearly overdrawn. Not a pleasure to have to take money from there but the cashier was overwhelmed by my magnificent signature! (Not changed since I invented it when I was about 9!)

    5) Finally got smaller son to finish his homework. 3 hours tonight. Most of that trying to get him to sit down and stop throwing stuff across the room in frustration. I have written to the teacher now saying the amount they are given at 10 years old is silly.

    6) Enjoyed watching the Big Bang Theory with sons.
  • LFS- so very pleased you are ok and are on the mend.

    So pleasures for weds-
    1. After wrestling with my conscience and feeling v unwell, I decided to ditch all the overtime I had signed up for.
Putting myself under too much strain to earn, being that this is my 1st job in years.
    2. A yummy mocha
    3. Chicken stew and dumplings, very welcome in the current climate.
    4. Playing puzzles on the carpet with dd3 :)
    5. A nice quiet evening at work.

    Thursday.

    1. Doing the school run, just before major traffic jam started. Phew!
    2. Lovely 2 hr nap,
    3. Cuddles on the sofa with OH , havent seen much of him.
    4. Feeling justified with cancelling overtime when dd3's teacher calls me in to say her behaviour over the last 2 weeks has worsened. Possible coincidence but thats how long I have been doing extra hours.
    So more family time required.
    5. Payday 2moz :)

    Hugs to all xx

    PK and mhagster's DD1, happy birthdays! :D
LFS, add me to the ever growing list of people who are really delighted you are still with us. :T
DD, don't tell me what Thursday is, I think every day better be a wonderful Wednesday from now on!

Five pleasures for [STRIKE]Thursday[/STRIKE] Wednesday ;):

    1. House is looking a lot tidier than it did earlier in the week.

    2. Scrambled eggs for lunch.

    3. Having a long, much needed nap this afternoon. I'd woken up at 4am worrying about one of the troublesome situations I'm dealing with atm and took ages to get back to sleep so I'm glad I caught up on the deficit.

    4. Ok it was Tikka, again, for supper but at least I cooked it in time for us to eat before we went out to the club tonight and there's spare for lunches tomorrow.

    5. Someone posted this link on the Preparedness thread http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-25026467 . It kind of stopped me in my tracks thinking about those people's ingenuity and the struggle that led to this situation . I pray that their lives improve quickly. It's not a pleasure but it reminded me about how much we have and I am so grateful for that.

    Sweet dreams
    B x
