DFV re why read 50? I have no idea, and no idea why anyone would. Snow? Arrgghhh! Congrats on the wallet find
ampersand you make auctions sound fascinating. Perhaps one day I'll go to a local one out of curiosity, but leave my purse at home
Tealady re the rude member of staff, good for you for rising above that type and walking away
PK good luck for the job applications, will keep fingers x'ed

3. a friend sent me the following link to a flash mob's Ode to Joy, such a happy piece which reminds my of my late dear mother-in-law, also Joy, and a joy to have known
http://youtu.be/kbJcQYVtZMo
4. this evenings shop in Mr M bought me 5 rustic rolls 9p, a piece of Brie 35p, 2 fresh apple and custard doughnuts 20p, and a punnet of pears for 25p. Just right for an indoor picnic lunch tomorrow
5. This evening's meeting was the craziest one yet, the sec and the guest speaker were a perfect foil for each other and had the room laughing throughout the evening. Appropriately one of our phrases is 'we are not a glum lot' - we certainly proved that!
Sweet dreams0 -
Sparrer - Amazing video, the look of awe of peoples faces was priceless. Made me smile this morning before I get to the mad house that will be work0

Did you miss me???Last week I was feeling a bit off wasn't I? Well..
last wed mornin I called 111..told to call surgery, 3 hours later, GP sent me to the surgical assesment unit at the hospital. Very nice sugeon said off to theatre, looks like its your appendix....woke up (3 hours of surgery) to be told I now didn't have an appendix or any girl bits! Full hysterectomy! (22 staples holding me together like a bad experiment! Morphine pump in one arm, multi drips in the other) He told me if I'd have left it any longer i would have not been here
So...pleasures..
1. I'm alive
2. OH has to do nearly everything:rotfl:
3. DS has been helping him:p
4. I cannot work for 12 weeks. 12 weeks? yes, you've had major surgery.
5. The chair at the pc is comfortable

Yikes LFS get well soon...and do as you're told!
Lovely sunny day instead of the rainy one forecast. Not too warm just about right really
It's my DD1's birthday and we've had a lovely day. Can't quite believe how quickly 17 years have gone by. She has turned out to be a kind, funny and beautiful young lady and we are very proud of her for just being herself!
So , I made , as a one time only , because I ain't doing it again ..a 7 layered rainbow cake covered in butter icing and the prettiest of rainbow sprinkles ...that was about the easiest part ...chucking them at the butter icing. However, even if I say so myself it tasted delicious.
We had , by request, lasagne for dinner with roast parsnips ( my request:)) and I saw on a blog today, potatoes almost cut through into crisps but still attached to the potato...if that makes any sense at all....brushed with olive oil and baked in the oven . So they were rather nice and a few left over which we will have for lunch tomorrow with cheese on.
Toasted the birthday girl with fizzy pink lemonade!
Nice chat with friend from Sydney today on phone, sat out on front porch in the sun and blethered.
No spend day at all for either OH or myself. I have impressed myself with my frugality ( not much choice really) this past month and have been quite canny with money...actually having some left over. However it will all be going to pay for holiday cottage and mortgage etc in UK.
Made a crumble with rhubarb as main fruit but with apple, pears and strawberries that needed using up and DS had a soup portion from the freezer.....er carrot he thinks! It was orange!
Tidied food cupboard out and I don't need to buy too much tomorrow . Use up what we've got.
Washed and ironed and have nice clean bedding to look forward to tonight.
Have been using my buckets of water to water the lavender pots and my lemon tree.
It is well past my bedtime , so have a lovely day and night night from me0 -
Raffles has adopted the usual cat mode at the pirate ship. Yelp for food and outside, then windowsill. Waltz about and the out for about 1. Back home about 6. Think he has the backing of the other cats!
Ms BoP. Completely beside herself with worry.
I guess Raffles wins!
Oh, and he is a head butterer. Has to head butt everything. Came ups for strokes last night, head butted and flopped aside. Likes his rug.
5 See that Grimsby forced out another manager this season. I guess DD will be fretting when Luton turn up.
4 Still watching the House of cards trilogy from years back. Very far stretched to be honest, as a political thriller. Better ones were First amongst Equals, Our Friends in the North. Guess I got the ending, but I have read better books last year and this. Gold was a good one for &.
3 Good to see the Aussies suffering this morn. Just like the old days.
“England are 237 for 6 at Tea on day one at the Oval. Last man out, Illingworth, 46. Bowled Sobers, run out Boycott! Boycott still there on 15.”
2 nite is camera club, so pictures at the unready.
1 What happens when the so called ethical, is not so!
And the fraught of Gylberdyke, City of Sulphar in 2017! Our internet radio was up plugged last evening. A station has been deleted. Old habits die hard.
Text question from Ms BoP. “Raffles is asking to go out” Her bounty for allowing him out was “he did come back yesterday” No Ms BoP. You were beside yourself. Read my thirst answer above!0 -
Good evening all!
LFS - you don't do things by half girl do you! So glad whatever it was was caught in time.Get well now my lovely - you have been missedbtw - move all of those critters off of the sofas so you can rest.
DfV- I did laugh that you only get to see your sons in unnatural light .
ampersand- what tales ! Loved the dog bowl story . Thought that the twitchy grey tb might fetch a fair bit. Something as lovely as that will never sell for a tenner really will it?

2. Stole the terrier for the evening she cuddled up to OH who was ill in bed when I got in at 4pm.

6. Day off tomorrow !
7 Supposed to be having steak for tea. Things are on the up
Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
LFS: Oh my, so so glad you are recovering surrounded by loved ones. Please take it very easy like you have much choice at the moment.
1.Both DH and I took the day off as I refused to work late on my birthday.
2.A lovely not rushing to get up.
3.Was treated to a lovely grilled full English breakfast.
4.We chilled curled up on the sofa and watched a daft free view movie that had us chuckling.:D
5.The postie dropped off the cat food vouchers, so we popped out to get them, thinking they wouldn’t last and apparently we were the first in the shop to use them, wow the food is expensive normally, we also got some other freebies they were giving away, ended up paying a whole 1.21 for a marrow bone.:j
6.Popped into Home base and bought a couple of Christmas lights half price and got to collect 500 nectar points and enter a raffle as I am feeling lucky on my lucky day.:rotfl:
7.I got presented with some lovely fluffy jumpers, one is a hoddie jacket where the hood is a raccoon head, the other is a fluffy jumper I really wanted and hinted blatantly at, and don’t forget the amazing big chocolate “flake” cake, delicious.:o
8. Pre empted pleasure, we are about to head out to a little Peking buffet, £9 for the two of us as much as we like, lower price as during the week.:)0 -
LFS - how terrifying! I will add to the general consensus of being very pleased indeed that you're here to tell us about it. Now take it easy!
1) Made it through a full day at work, although I had a bit of a dip mid-afternoon and had a few 'what are you doing here?' type questions.
2) Received my fortnightly veg box, with a free jar of strawberry jam for recommending a new customer - I didn't realise I got a freebie out of it too!
3) Received an email confirming that my free Christmas horse show tickets are in the post. :j
4) And also received my free cat food voucher. (It's been a good day for freebies! :money:)
5) Pondering whether to go to the pub quiz tonight, which indicates how much better I'm feeling.
Still no sign of Isis' mouse so I bought her a new one, which of course means the old one will show up at any minute!Back after a very long break!0
