Evening all
Mine for today
1 Popping to tesco for the cheap washing tabs (not getting any) and only spending 30p as I used my vouchers so even though i got tom sauce and socks in the sale i am still counting it as a no spend on food day as i used my voucers!!!
2 Dh getting a payrise!!! :T Its not what was promised as he still has quite a way to get up to his pay up to Go grade but it is a payrise and anything is better than nothing!!! Might even up my weekly food budget by £10 a week when he gets it!!!
3 I tried felting today. I crocheted a square (not really a square more of a blob) and 'felted' it and it came out all soft and nice so just need to actually manage to crochet a real square so I can make a baby blankie!
4 Got ALL the ironing done :T
5 Dh working late tonight so when he gets in we are having pizza and chips (hm of course) as a treat!
Thats it for me.
Have a good evening everyone.0 -
What a day! Here are my 5...
1) Its snowing again (covering up the grubby snow still left from last Wednesday). Doesn't matter now as there is nowhere I HAVE to be.
2) Bigger son had an extra science class after school and enjoyed that.
3) Made one of our favourite teas.
4) Got the fire going AND the storage heaters on! This is very rare indeed and its really quite warm.
5) Had lots of phone calls and texts from friends and relations and THANK YOU for all the messages on here. :-)
6) Court...... Had my favourite judge back again (tough but fair). Went in, ex's solicitor said he hadn't done any of the things that he actually has done. My solicitor handed the judge very recent paperwork about the ex and the ex's solicitor denied what was in front of the judge's eyes!! My solicitor gave a fantastic speech about lack of trust, being let down and everything else. The judge asked the ex if he would have a psychologist write a report about him (to "clear his name"). The ex said no. Judge said, in that case, it would be supervised contact in a contact centre and that the ex could choose which centre and a time to suit himself. Ex said he was not going to see the boys in a contact centre. The judge said we should go outside and he should think about his decision...
...sat in the cafe area of the court and the ex's solicitor came over and said "he is fed up, he is not willing to go to a contact centre to see them and he is thinking of stopping the whole case and not bothering any more".
Some more things came out about him in court, it seems he is in trouble all over the place. It WILL come to light and I think he is stopping before that point. So there is now no contact between the ex and the boys, at least until it goes back to court in mid March. Refusing to see them in a contact centre is the absolute worst decision he could have made in the eyes of the court.

How you remain so sanguine dealing with all this, I do not know. I have been there, as the child, albeit somewhat older, and it did my head in.
I remember the occasion he got a court order because my mother had prevented him giving us our Christmas presents. He had turned up at 4.30pm and we had left to stay with friends, as he was warned would happen.
Since he had advised he might be a bit late for the 4pm appointment, he got the High Court involved. He also visited every single relative and friend about whom he knew over the festive season and told them of his woes.
There was the small problem that our friends' car broke down (evidenced by the AA) and they did not even get to our house until 9.30pm that night. So we had not even left until nearer 11pm.
He really did look a bit silly, but it did not prevent him re-inventing reality on other occasions.
You may find that his solicitor has a fair idea what is happening, but is quite happy to let him drop himself in it, if those are his instructions. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
ACEY glad to hear that the funeral went well. Well done at court today, you're doing all the right things and being there for your children. They're so lucky to have you as their mum.
My five for today:
1) tea and toast in bed
2) cuddles from dd before leaving for work
3) following up and contacting all the people I met at conference last week
4) booking annual leave for Thursday morning for another meeting at the hospital to discuss our concerns with the consultant, hoping we'll get some positive action for mum
5) dp's fish pie for tea, yummy!"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
I still have a big list in my head of things I intend to make out of things I have got. Maybe I should get it all written down so I can tick things off as I go. I feel I'm not marking much progress but I have done a couple of the things today.
1. Making raspberry jam from fruit in the freezer, thus using up some of the army of jam jars marching round my garage. I have now also got jam for home use and giving away as pressies when the time comes.
2. Decided to concentrate on my pink and white 'ripple' crochet baby blanket today rather than going on to anything else and I've finished it:T
I'm very pleased with it and the next baby girl that comes along has a pressie waiting and it won't cost me a tenner - and doesn't look mean either.
3. Made a rather yummy orange spice cake to use up the last orange left over from last weeks pancakes.
4. Made minty lamb rissoles from the last of Sunday's lamb.
5. Made tapioca pudding - a favourite of DH's, as I had plenty of milk and some ancient tapioco and thought it would augment the sparse protien content of the dinner. We only usually have pudding when we have visitors so it was a real treat.

Evening all,
Such a good and happy day for lil ol' me. It has been busy mind with loads of meetings... but I have been offered a job interview next thursday with a well known high street company. I don't necessarily want to leave where I am but for 40% pay rise I might just do it!! When I get back from skiing in a few weeks time I am going to have an chat with my director saying that I am severely underpaid and still have been working my socks off, and need some financial recognition for this... and if he is not willing to do anything about that then I will definitely seriously consider the other job.
1) Kiwi Boy texted me to confirm the plans for Friday night... drinks in a very nice pub in London. YAY!!!
2) Have realised that I have 12 days off over easter... might go and visit my parents or do a singles holiday (though fingers crossed I won't be single...)
3) I've not been hungry all day - I have two slices of HM bread for brekkie and that sorted me out. So a NSD for me.
4) Chatted to two friends on the phone on the way home from my meeting in Bicester... both were very jolly and I have pencilled in drinks with them before I go on hols.
5) Chatted to my eldest brother on FB. He's now considering emigrating to Austalia as he has just come back from visiting his girlfriend's brother there.
6) Sold my old jiu jitsu gi on ebay... the winner sent me an email in txt spk... I am tempted to withdraw the item in protest!!! I also sold a pair of shoes on eBay... so that is an extra £15 this month for the mortgage.
Night all... have a fabulous evening and sleep well.

Evening everyone,
Acey - Your boys are so lucky in having you as their mum to act so fairly and calmly in all that is going on and always keeping their best interests at heart.
My five for today:
1. Another batch of ironing done this morning can nearly see the bottom of the basket
2. Again other than bus fares no money spent today
3. As most of dinner was prepared last night made some pork dimsums to go with tomorrows dinner and some individual apple strudel type things
4. Lift home from work today which was really appreciated as raining and cold
5. Going to make myself a hot lemon and honey drink as feeling shivery tonight might even have to add a little bit of brandy (medicinal of course)
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Hi all! My five for today:
1. Doing another 1,300 words of my short story. This one will be a long one, I think, maybe 20,000+ words. Loving working on it!
2. Yummy homemade chilli for lunch, with pitta bread, and two colleagues saying how nice it smelt.
3. Heading off to watch CSI Trilogy in a minute - I love those American crime dramas!
4. Realising that February and March are "no council tax months" due to paying over 10 months - I'd quite forgotten. That's a few extra quid in the travel fund, then.
5. Another no-spend day - nothing has left my purse since Sunday lunchtime, and I doubt if anything will tomorrow.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
1. 2 x litre jars of dehydrator yoghurt made (gave one to my parents).
2. 5 x trays of banana chips dehydrated.
3. The first of (I hope) a few NSD's today.
4. Took a mystery item from the freezer for tomorrow's tea....now it's partially defrosted i think it's vegetarian lasagne.
5. Bought 5 packs of just-out-of-date couscous from B & M last week, made it up in a huge pan today and when cooled, bagged it up and froze it in portions.Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
NSD Challenge: October 0/140 -
