Ok- duet o lots of financial pressure with the two flats i own and rent out down south (both tenants poss moving out!!), overworking (self employed) and various other reasons I have been feeling lower than i have in a long time recently.

So this morning i literally thought- ENOUGH- stop moping and SORT IT!!

I have had the BEST DAY EVER:D since deciding to.

    1. Got on phone to first flat agent- have finally discovered i am no longer in negative equity and am in a position to sell"!!!:T

    2. Got on phone to agent flat 2, and tenant flat to. Have got agent in action having valuation done but in meantime got commitment from tenant to rent another year!!:T

    3. Served a mean meat pie and sold out at lunchtime and lots happy customers:T

    4. Sorted my head out wrt me overworking (i have a problem with workaholicness and it has potential to ruin my poor OH) and have made some changes and reined myself back in- So have made him very relieved and brought a tear to his eye when i said i will take Sundays off from now on....

    5. Mega bargain of reduced mushrooms in Tesco- i was planning on serving beef stroganoff tomorrow and mushies were the only thing i was low on!!!

COULD TODAY HAVE GONE ANY BETTER!?

    financial and personal issues.......DONE!
    :silenced:

    1. Made a lovely home made cheese and tomato pizza.

    2. Made a massive amount of date and apricot oat slices. Must freeze some methinks!

    3. Made 4 small loaves of bread and took one to my uncle when i visited him today.

    4. Arranged for an electirician to come out tomorrow morning to fix two of the bedroom ceiling lights. DD has been having to go to bed with a torch. Great fun when you are young, but she is 18 and doesn't go to bed early these days anyway!

5.Put some air in my tyres again, put a tenner of diesel in the car, shopped at Aldi for fruit and still came home with change out of a £20 note. Determined to not spend anything for the next few days, unless it is absolutely crucial.

    5.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and concern, and for not telling me off for posting my woes in ther wrong place. You really are a lovely bunch of people :A
I didn't phone the police, DS phoned at 10am and picked up something in my voice (blessed kids are too clever, they see right through me when I try to be over-cheerful).Not long after our chat a policeman was on my doorstep, he was lovely and made me feel much better. He stayed about an hour and just after he left my other neighbour knocked to see what was wrong. She strayed another hour, so it was after midday before I got my shower - felt really ewww by then

ACEY I'm pleased Monday is over for you and you had some time to yourself before picking up the boys. Will be thinking of you tomorrow :)
Good for you rearranging the story and being more satisfied with the result savingforoz. When I had essay homework my English teacher gave me a new exercise book, I loved writing and would fill one in an evening. Sadly it's as much as I can do to think of the words for a shopping list today :o
house elf there have now been 3, one poor girl twice, and the little ******s also squatted in an empty house for a few weeks. That was a nightmare, they stripped it of pipework, hw tank, everything they could get a few bob for to buy their puff. Thank heaven the house has had a complete refurb and there's a nice family in there now. We're all discussing alarms/cctv and one neighbour is looking for prices for us. It can only get better ;)

    My five -
    1. So many caring people one doesn't realise exists until there's a need for friends
    2. The snow. I know I don't like it but waking up to it this morning everything seemed clean and fresh (except me who couldn't get to the shower for all the visitors :rotfl:)
    3. An invitation to dinner on Thursday by some friends in the fellowship
    4. The amazing acting of Charlie Clements, who plays Bradley Branning. I can't believe how long he held his breath..East Enders fans will understand :o (I wonder how many takes it took before they stopped laughing?)
    5. A sausage sandwich for tea with hm brown bread and a little mustard. It was yummy comfort food

    Night night (((hugs)))everyone, sweet dreams

  • Hiya All - Have just read back through yesterdays posts and it makes me feel that I am not the only one doing this internal wrestle with stuff - money, food, self-esteem - you all know....
Yesterday wasnt a VG day for me - I had no oomph - didnt bother going to my yoga class (pre-paid too:-( ) and ate far too much. I get all cross with everything when I am in a low mood like this. But thinking about it there were some good things so I will record them here
    1. Bright green shoots of spring flowers (wood anamones) poking through the earth in the wood.
    2. Did some work for DH so that means he doesnt have to do it in the evening (mind you he is a workaholic so he will just do something else instead)
    3. Spoke to a "girl" who I realised I taught many moons ago (and also taught her husband) - Gosh am I that old [yes]
    4. Made yummy tomato and lentil soup for dinner (only the lentils cost money since HM stock, HG tomatoes and onions)
    5. Had a good laugh at First Aid training bandaging people up so they looked like the Egyptian Mummy!

Its not raining (yet??) this morning. Woo hoo!!
    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Stay clutter-free
No new stuff unless to replace broken items that are essential.

Good morning everybody :hello: - looking quite bright outside, at the moment - hoping it stays that way for the remainder of the day.

Megs mum - awwww feel really sorry for your 'girls' - hope the weather brightens up for them. wd to you and OH on being able to afford to buy next-door - fingers crossed that this all works out for your family. Your Tomato and Lentil Soup sounds very  - sounds like your 'get-up-and-go' is finding it's way back to you now - specially for you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J0Q5SMTEM0&feature=related
LittleBit - wd on your 'little man' graduating to bigger sleeping arrangements :j - hope it helps with him sleeping right through :).
CCP - oh dear, your mobile phone could be related to mine - I'm still living down the embarassment with work colleagues (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=28625803&postcount=1405). lol at your very vocal cat - there isn't a 'lady' cat in the vicinity is there? Good to hear you phone survived for a little longer :j.
bella - hope you managed to get on with some jam-making or sewing yesterday :). Bread, rolls and scone making/ironing/making a full roast meal/blanket crocheting AND providing a willing ear for a friend - none of that can be termed 'not very much at all' - for goodness sake woman, your loved ones must be singing your praises from the rafters :T.
zaarazara - isn't it great when the days draw out like they're doing at the moment :j. Enjoy your swap shop at the weekend.
Caterina - enjoy your ballroom dancing sessions with your OH :).
nuttybabe - wd on continuing with the nsd where food's concerned :T.
Ladyhawk - great that Mr Kiwi turned out to be a decent sort - good luck with this new friendship . Good news about the spare door :j.
GirlySquare - mmmmmm Hot Choccie - decadence .
house elf - HSEeyore1_27475.gif - specially for you ;) - what a shame about leaving your Dalek behind at the museum :(. Hope things pick up for you now that you're back into the swing of things at work again :j.
Kittikins - good to hear that your back is on the mend and welcome home to your DD too.
jem1276 - lol at your No.1 - makes a great difference to going to work doesn't it ;). wd to your OH on having the ironing done and a meal cooked :T.
pepsimax - sorry to hear that your OH is having his hours cut back, but wd you on working out your finances and finding that you can still get through. Hope the camomile tea helps with the caffeine reduction. It took me around 3-4mths to break my addiction to the stuff - I no longer need a caffeine-fix every 2hrs - phew!
Tealady - wtg on your smear results cheerleader3.gif.
savingforoz - fingers crossed for Mr Possible - wd on the short story re-write - shame about the cat-sitting, but you can do without a pain-in-the rear owner while minding her precious fur-baby.
Mumof2 - wd to your 'girls' for rewarding you with 2 little presents ;).
ACEY - so pleased to hear that the funeral went off well and that the older mourners were well-looked after. Such a shame at their time of life, when possibly the only time they meet up is at funerals. That's why we planned mum's birthday party last week - at 80 we didn't want the next get-together to be yet another funeral. Mum is now the eldest and there are four younger brothers - so far they have 'gone in order of age' and it scares her. How lovely that your boys were playing with things that you played with and experiencing a little bit of your childhood at your aunt's.
tabskitten - wtg on such a positive day :j! Good for you in putting your relationship with OH in No.1 spot with space for some 'you and him' time on a Sunday :T. Hope your Beef Strogonoff goes down well - can sniff it already .
katholicos - wd on your home baking and on keeping your spending down to necessities :j.
sparrer - how perceptive of your DS - what would we do without them eh ;) - so pleased that what needed to be done actually happened and fingers crossed that these toe-rags get caught and sorted out asap. Enjoy your meal with friends on Thursday evening.

Not got time to post my own right now - shouldn't even be sitting here right now. Get off your asre, girl, and get dressed :o:o:o. Speak again later, love Ollie xxx

Thanks, Ollie - it's nice to know my mobile isn't the only one with lemming-like tendencies! :o

Acey - I'm glad the funeral went well yesterday, and best of luck for today.
Back after a very long break!

    Hello All,

Caterina - What an interesting and excting life you have!

Do I? Just popped in to see how things are for all, before going to my sewing class and noticed this post - it is funny to think that my life is perceived this way! I am very happy with my life but I consider it quite pleasantly dull, if you know what I mean! What an interesting perspective your post has given me this morning, house elf, thank you!

Will be back later to post my pleasures, off to making the lining for my skirt now (this IS exciting for me, as it will be the first time ever I do such thing!)

Have a great day everybody xxx
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Hi all hugs to all who need them.

Here's mine for the last few days:

    1. Managing to dust polish and hoover 3 rooms yesterday as well as 2 loads of washing and make potato scones and bubble and squeak cakes. Felt very housewifey :D

    2. Bubble and squeak, sausages and onion gravy for tea yesterday - yum!

    3. Potato scones and eggs for lunch today - yum - much more successful than the last time I tried to make them!!

    4. Meeting up with a friend and having a good chat and us encouraging each other.

    5. Getting a few more small running around jobs done today.

    6. Getting invited to a posh wedding do - got no job so no need to book time off work - just need to book a cheap travelodge room as the 3 hour drive might be a bit much ;)

    7. Seeing crocuses - or is that croci ?? coming up in other peoples gardens and knowing spring will get here at some point :rotfl:
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

    5) Friend and her little girl coming to stay on Saturday night
    6) Pancakes on Sunday night
    7) Getting an e-mail out of the blue from my ex from 10 years ago. He was my toyboy.....and it looks like he's grown up a lot :rotfl:

    9) All my feathered and furry wildlife are fine - even though they cost me a fortune.
    10) Got someone coming to view the house on Thursday
    11) 7 Ebay parcels posted....got £126 :j

Sparrer sorry to hear about your fright but don't let them get to you. They're usually all talk and no action. Classic bullies like this mainly back down if you fire into them
As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'

Hi again everybody, here are my pleasures for today:

1 - Toast with peanut butter for breakfast, I had not had peanut butter for a while and it was very enjoyable. DS felt the same, he thanked me for buying it.

2 - Craft class, my tweed skirt is progressing nicely (but slowly due to so many students in the class).

3 - Lunch between classes, a lovely lentil and tomato soup in a delightful little cafe/florist shop. Lovely homemade food and really sweet atmosphere. Very pleasant and international: the owner is French, there were two Greek ladies having lunch and nattering in Greek and there was me (Italian). An international gathering in the pretty little shop.

4 - Got a lift back home from one of the other students in the class, thankfully, as it was cold and wet.

5 - Managed to squeeze a bit more work before hitting the email and forum.

    Good night everybody xxx
