Hello All,
Sparrer - How scarry! Please let the Police know what happened. After two burglaries they should be keeping an extra eye on your area anyway.
Caterina - What an interesting and excting life you have!
Acey - Hope everything went as well as could be expected today.
Hoping that putting my 5 pleasures for yesterday will remind me that I am lucky to have a lovely family and DH and home etc. But some days I just feel despondent for no apparent reason, and today is one of those 'Eeyore' days
Yesterday
1. Went to a 'Doctor Who and Star Wars' day at the National Motor Museum with DH and DS2. (Free entry as we have a season ticket).:money: Great fun! Made a Dalek with DS2 but left it behind!:(
2. Final Ebay total - £47.50:)
3. Yummy roast chicken dinner for tea.
4. Feeling guilty that I have done no school work for a week, but then realising that I have enough lessons planned to get through Monday. (Will suffer the rest of the week!).
5. Getting lots of underwear for the kids at a quarter of the price through the BHS glitch on here. Thank you MSE.:money:
Today
1. Saw one of the swimming mummies that I haven't seen for ages and having a bit of a catch up.
2. YS cream cheese and smoked salmon sandwiches for lunch. Decadent!:)
3. Happy to be back to school. I am lucky to work with such nice people and great kids:T (You can tell no chairs were thrown today:rotfl:).
4. Easy tea of Spag Bol. (My new stock of Nigellas onion mush makes these store cupboard meals easy and tastey. Thank you to the Kitchen Goddess:A.
5. DS2 saying that there is 'nothing nice to eat', so I have made choc crispie cakes from the ends of a couple of cereal boxes and a weetabix cake. He seems happy and I found it v theraputic! Excuse me while I just go and sample the Weetabix cake!
Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone. HE x0 -
1. Having another day off the diet and making a scrumptious red lentil dhal for me and DD for dinner tonight.
2. My back still hurts but am taking it easy and chilling on the sofa tonight, okay, it's what I do most nights, but tonight I've got the heating on as well, lol. Hopefully back on the diet and off the painkillers tomorrow.
3. My physio appointment was cancelled today but at least I saved £35 this week.
4. DD came into my bed for lots of lovely cuddles this morning, it's great to have her back home and for us to get into a routine again.
5. Pretty, cheapy tops arrived from Walli$0 -
Hugs for those that need them xx
1) Horrid colleague on annual leave at work all week.
2) Managed to eat healthily all day after a slip up weekend.
3) Was paid a lovely compliment at work today.
4) Hubby had ironed and cooked tea by the time I got home.
5) Watching 24 in a minute.0 -
Evening everyone.
Here's my five:
1) Amazingly, my mobile phone survived its swimming lesson almost entirely unscathed. :j I still need a new one as it has been on its last legs for a few months, but at least it's not quite so urgent now.
2) Had a text conversation with my younger sister, who started her new job today, and knowing she really enjoyed it.
3) Booked a day off on Friday, so I can take delivery of my mum's birthday present. It's a bit annoying having to use the day's leave, but I could do with some time off so I'm not that fussed.
4) I'm playing rubber chicken this week - I love seeing how far I can make it go.
5) Watching the cat eat his share of today's rubber chicken portion - it's like watching a creature that's half cat, half vacuum cleaner!
Have a good evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
1) Horrid colleague on annual leave at work all week.
This is always a reason for celebration:j:beer:Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -

5. Last but not least getting the all clear on my smear test :j:j:jHave had problems in the past so great relief.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all - my five before I head off for an early night.
1. Short day at work - was able to leave at 2.30pm. Yay!!
2. Treating myself to a afternoon nap when I got home, as I was tired (not sleeping great, my bladder seems to be hyperactive at night - TMI, I know!!) I am sure I must have been Spanish or Latin American in a past life - their routines of afternoon siestas and late nights would suit me so well!
3. Delicious homemade potato and peanut curry for lunch and a homemade spicy burger for tea. Mmm, food...
4. Having a brief phone call with Mr Possible and picking some dates when we may be able to get together, our respective schedules allowing.
5. Getting a phone call from the woman whose cat I was supposed to be looking after, saying she didn't want me to do so any more. Although Nina Pusscat is gorgeous, I did suspect that her owner may be a pain in the posterior to deal with, so I was quite relieved.
6. Cranking out 1,800 words on my short story, which is actually the last one that I did, being totally revamped. I decided that there was no way I could rescue it in its current sorry state; a total reworking was required. I'm much happier now that this version will work well. Why, oh, why, did I put off doing creative writing for so long in my life, when it's been something that I've always wanted to do and when it makes me feel so happy? Human nature, eh?!
7. Good gym session this morning; my first time back after I took a few days off with the sniffles. Virtually all my gym buddies were there and we had a good laugh.
OK, that's seven, but hey, where pleasures are concerned more is better!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Here's 2 for you -
1. over the last 2 days checking the nest box of the chickens we only got on Saturday and finding an egg on both days :j
2. sat eating [STRIKE]loads of[/STRIKE] a couple of home-made TwinksFlymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
Thanks for all your thoughts and good wishes today. 5 for today, if I can....
1) Well, the funeral came and went. The vicar looked as though she could be a bit "happy clappy" but she had been shipped in to do a C of E funeral for Grandma so was trying to keep a lid on it! She was nearly having to sit on her arms during the hymns, we noticed.
2) I suppose a good thing was that we got several very old people and ourselves to and from the crem and the wake without anyone falling over, getting lost or upset.
3) Got home earlier than I thought so I didn't pick the boys up immediately as they would have only been at Aunty's for about 10 minutes. I went home and lit the fire, tidied up a bit and had a cup of tea by myself.
4) Went to pick the boys up and had a cup of tea and had a look round Aunty's new extension. Boys were very happy and had out a box of cars and a box of Action Men that I used to play with round there when I was little! (She has 3 sons, now all nearly 40).
5) My school friend came round and tea was very nice, considering it was a little rushed. I did baked potatoes then we made a chicken and yellow pepper pizza and had some garlic bread too.
6) Mum and dad babysat and I went out with my friend and my brother to a PTA quiz. We came 5th out of 11 teams but we only had 3 on our team and everyone else had 4. If we'd had 4 people presumably our score would have been 25% higher and then.... not that I'm competetive or anything!
So this is day 1 of a fairly awful week over. Court tomorrow.....
