It's almost dark o'clock but not quite and the blackbirds are singing away.

    I've had an amazing day!

Alarm clock went off at 5.45am.....only I was on a day off !
Got up and had a potter around, tidying etc.

OH came home, flight was a bit delayed, girls got to stay off until 9.45am to see him! Lovely to have him home but I had to dash out to...

Get my hair dyed! Last done 4 years ago with a home kit and chunks of hair fell out so been very wary since....however , I've been fed up with the grey at the front so plucked up the courage ....had a lovely morning at hairdressers, good blether, read a glossy magazine and came out with the shiniest hair :) I love it!

Used my tip jar to buy a set of shampoo and conditioner etc that was on offer....in a nice bag! Went home for the money rather than putting it on my card.

Sat on my sofa flicking through my UK magazines, eating my UK sweets .

Phone call from friend in Sydney ( had walked up to post office to post her some UK sweets too!)

DD1 brought Downton home so watched that whilst I ironed ....and ironed.OH kindly brought his dirty washing home! Not sure why it wasn't washed in Scotland!

Had funny chitchat with my silly daughters.

    Watched Holby on YouTube.

    Had chips for tea!

Just waiting on OH coming home from work....he's 3 weeks worth to catch up on! Lovely to be a family of 5 again!

    Have a lovely Wednesday :)

    Hi all,

I've not posted on here before but I've been reading back and it's such a pleasure to read other peoples good things about their day. I think it actually brightens up mine. I'd like to share my pleasures too if that's okay? (these are of yesterday not necessarily all in order)
    1. A proposal I costed at work has been accepted which means that over the winter, we will be generating quite a bit more income for one of our services is Islington. I feel like I've added value to the organisation... If only I could take a cut eh ;)
    2. I had a blood test yesterday which I hate so to cheer me up I bought a Salted Caramel Hot Chocolate YUM!
    3. I got home and hit the gym for a quick session. Something I haven't done for a few months so felt quite good about that
    4. Come in from the gym to find OH was cooking me dinner, had bought me a bottle of wine (good job I went to the gym), a tub of ice cream and a bunch of flowers. He said he hadn't treated me to dinner for a while and the rest .... Well he doesn't need a reason :D
    5. A funny text chat with my mum over Christmas presents for my OH and her claiming I was stealing all her ideas of what to get him .... (I swear she stole them from me!)

Hope you all have a nice day

Sorry not all totally OS. I'll try harder.

  • A welcome Beard rub to the newbies.

To some, we are going to beat everything up in front of us. To me, Leon June 14th 1970 was the extreme limit. And I still never got that Jeff Astle medal from the Tiger Collective!

Got to take tiger to the vet again today, so no pleasures just yet. Beard rubs to all.

Hello RC, lovely to read your pleasures.......that salted caramel hot chocolate sounds deeeelish! (Don't worry about pleasures not being OS, I don't anymore ;):) )

    In no particular order.....

    1. Got home to a lovely surprise - I've been given a partial fee waiver for my course fees :)

    2. A frustrating day of lectures and seminars and annoying course mates asking endless, stupid questions..........but the pleasure is, I managed to keep my temper, and had a good chat later with some chums who were feeling the same as me. We put the world to rights!

    3. Managed to get more of my massive essay done, and at the moment I don't care if it's rubbish! (That's tomorrow's concern ;) )

    4. Bought 4 lots of black ink for my printer at even more bargainous rates than the last lot.

    5. Spending more money on lovely books :) DD is reading and loving Tom's Midnight Garden so I'm getting a few more for her, that I can then hopefully use to read to pupils :) Kind of MSE then ;)
  • BoP now that is a gorgeous looking mogster, get well soon Monty.

    1. Printed off some Tesco vouchers that were about to run out only£7 worth but I didn’t know I had them there so it’s a bonus:D

    2. Printed off a £2 pizza voucher:money:
    3. Applied for a few jobs that look good, as work is miserable.
    4. The Scotland trip is shaping up looks like we go all over, we want to visit the Falkirk wheel, the west highland railway, Glenfinnian, er Chanoonry Point and culludon via clava cairns and that’s just a few, so a fair round robin in distance.
    5. DH did massive tip run today, and for the first time ever, when he asked if he could have the 6 ft length of drain pipe from the tip for the ferrets the lovely chap said yes, they are normally a jobs worth by us not good at all so that was lovely. And the car is full again for another tip run tomorrow.:j Nice to try and get de cluttering scarey that to be honest it's only just denting it.

    6. Bangers and mash is cooking away while I am typing.

Oh pirate Pete what a handsome boy Monty was ...hugs to you and Lady Whack.

Just about to head for shower to get ready for work when I got a call to say cafe has had a fire in the kitchen overnight ....so no work today, tomorrow etc.....obviously this is not a pleasure but I'm grateful that my cupboards and freezer are stocked, I know how to make from scratch and will manage on the money I have as I won't be getting paid. Sorry for my employers , they are absolutely devastated , I've offered to help with clear up but can't do anything until insurers have been in.

So I shall go back to a simpler life once again of staying at home and hoping its not for too long but embracing this extra me time.

    Will be back later!

    Evening all,

BoP - that's a lovely photo - your Tiger looks like a cat my family owned when I was a child. Poor Monty. :(

MissRikkiC - welcome to the thread - some lovely pleasures there.

    1) Finally received some items I ordered online weeks ago, just as I was thinking of sending the company a mildly threatening 'send me the goods or give me my money back' type letter.

    2) Working in a fairly casual office, so no-one objected when I took off my soaking wet shoes under my desk after lunch. (Note to self - must buy some waterproof winter shoes! :o)

    3) Made a start on my first OU piece of work, although I had to give up after a while as I need to use a particular word which won't come to mind no matter how hard I try.

    4) Turned some LO savoury mince into enchiladas for dinner.

Can't think of a fifth one, so I'll keep that for another day.
Back after a very long break!
