  • I see the chief editor has increased the viewers for their ogle show. My comments are withdrawn on the matter, suffice to say, that should I write them here, I would not write anymore here. Just like the Diana walkabouts that were used on the show, The Day Today, but have been sterilised from the repeats.

Welcome buck &. Where have you been, apart from some concert by Mr Rice and Webber. I prefer chess, the demo album aversion and the shows back in the 1980’s. Took an age to see it in its entirety, that was at the Minac some years back now.

5 Got my best ever score at Pop Master, the quiz we do at work. But again slammed by the lassie in the thirst round. Came back strong though with Men at Work! In the second round.

1 How would you get out, if there was …

3 That day of the month when I pay my tax and national Insurance. They also take a bit for the enforced pension fund as well nowadays. Tax is now 4 figures and total bill is now in a month what I earned in a year on the apprenticeship. Good to know that the message about the pension bucket is nearly true. ‘If I were you lot, I would not put a penny into it, Cause when you retire, there will be nothing left’ Any way, at the salt mine, I am still on probation!!! It is a bit like try before you buy. I explained to others, that it is a two way process. Standard rule apply!

2 gether with Ms Whack tonite, we may just liquidate the rest of the funds .Tonight is the nite for the Xmas fruit to go down for festering until Cake and Pud stirring day. Wait here for the fruits you need. Do not forget, that we only use Isle of Mann whiskey. No Brandy sauce due to the frogs selling exocet missiles in 1982.

4 Gas and Electricity has risen recently by 8%. Just glad we fixed our a few weeks back.

When the dog barks, do you rush to jump? When the tail wags, do you throw back the bone? When we take a step back, we see the whole picture. When we cut the strings, the puppet falls free!
  • Posting here minds me of trainspotting. A double header I think. Come on Sifties at MSE, get out of the mushrooms and sort out this double posting
  • yesterday
    1. shopping done for another week
    2. more washing done and line dried and can be put away without ironing
    3. stir fry for tea using up wilted veg
    4. threw an extra duvet over my bed last night and was glad I did as I was nice and warm
    5. fluffy little bunny in the hedge bottom catching some warmth from the sun as I left work today ... skittered away when it saw me coming

There has been another change at work :( Upside is we are only expected to clear small amount of work due to its difficult nature and its (hopefully!) only for 2 weeks to clear the backlog.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    1) Made an appointment with the CPL to go and pick a puss (or two) next Thursday. :j

    2) Received confirmation that we are getting free tickets to the event at Christmas - the tickets were selling out so fast I was worried we weren't going to get any but we did, albeit not on our first choice of date. :j

    3) Took a bundle of old towels to the local branch of Blue Cross, who have said they can make use of them.

    4) Picked a bag of ripe HG tomatoes; the remaining half-ripe and green ones will be chutneyed over the weekend.

    5) Football and quiz at the pub tonight. :j
Back after a very long break!
  • Good evening

Sparrer- you are welcome here anytime if you need feeding up :D

CCP - I am sure that the mogs will chose you :D

    a few today as k*ackered

    1. Work ok as out all day

    2. Did a joint visit with another prof. . Had lots to look at/examine and running commentary from the other person made the task twice as long . Not impressed as I prefer flying solo. Although she was very knowledgeable

    3. Late home - animals beside themselves with pent up anticipation.("she's late!")Considering one of them doesn't even live with me , rather amusing really!

    4. DM had cooked some macaroni ( bit of a theme here!)I made a cheese sauce , as mine is better than her cheese soup :rotfl:

    5. Tired , in pain/spasms due to late finish and "extra work" stress need a Benzo then bed .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Sparrer: it’s not just you we tidied up over the weekend, and visitors re arranged, our natural look is a bit scruffy really.
If I had the energy I would be bouncing around like tigger at the moment, nothing major just things slowly coming together.
    1. rThe pleasure about work is I can put my earplug radio in for several hours
    2. Came home and cooked up a load of pasta, 1 lot is for carbonara tonight, the other lot I have made into Tuna sweetcorn pasta for lunch as I am so bored of sandwiches.:)
    3. I am happy as this weekend I looked into kitchens and got a bit scared at the idea but we are quite frankly desperate for a new kitchen, today fate played a hand, a friend is available to do the boiler bits and pieces, he knows a tiler, and the neighbours are looking into recommending a builder. So we are going to have to wander along to places like ikea and er wickes and sit with kitchen designers to find out what we can do as it’s only little, and how much it may cost. I find the whole thing a bit daunting but it all seems to be coming together.;)
    4. Looked more into Scotland and planned a journey with all of the sites I would like to visit we would be away for a year. So I have had to reel it in, as we are the sort that unpack and relax we are not tourers. So a couple of weeks on mull and a couple in land.:j Thou I am not sure where to go in land.

    5. Feeling almost organized, trying to enjoy the feeling before it all un ravels..:rotfl:

    My pleasures for today:

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Both sons had a good day at school.

    3) Helped my brother pick up cider apples. There will be 12-15 sacks per tree and there are 20 plus trees. All will go to Bulmers soon. Mum made me some lunch while I was there.

    4) Had a good tidy up.

    5) Enjoyed Holby City.

    6) And now for a tale told to me in the car by smaller son. (Who rarely tells me anything that happens at school....)

In his base at school there is a Sensory Room (seems they call it the Soft Room!) where there are fibre optic lights and some other lights projected onto the walls and lots of blocks and bean bags to lie on. He had never been in it so the staff said he could have a go at lunchtime. I don't think staff go in there with them but there is always someone in the base somewhere during breaks.

Anyway, smaller son was (in his words) "throwing himself" on all the bean bags and foam shapes. He decided to "dive through" a cube with a hole through - and got stuck! It got wedged so his head was sticking out but he couldn't move his arms. He said he "walked out like a penguin and tried crashing into a desk to get it off" but eventually found a member of staff to help him - the headmistress!

After telling me all that he sat looking at me laughing and said "Why are you laughing like this? HAHAHAHAHA" which made me laugh even more!
  • Thanks everyone x you are always there when we need you :D appreciate somewhere to have a 'moment'!
Frith - off to look for your posts!
CCP - cats!! As the weathers so unpleasant they're all in!! One has stolen my seat on the sofa and growls at me if I try to move her..my advice..make sure you have more chairs than cats!! 15 is alot in a normal house... in a portacabin..well...at least the beds warm when we go to bed!
Sparrer - worst thing is, this year she is the superior, head of sixth form (last year she was a p.e. teacher) I pointed alot of things out at the open evening and I think I made it worse! (His friends said they now know where he gets (a) his strangeness and (b) his authority complex from!!)
    1. Washing nearly dry in greenhouse 'drying room':) on the airer overnight and it'll be done.
    2. 15 boxes of celeriac cut..thats 240 of the little devils, feeling a bit old at the mo!
    3. More artichokes too:) 50lb..if only I liked them!
    4. finished canning the grape juice so there's some for breakfast :) 8 pints yum
    5. Shepherds pie for tea...friend gave me mince to say thankyou for something! So tea for 3 and leftovers for pasties, and maybe cheese and potato pie for me tomorrow:D
DS avoided the harridan today by studying in the upstairs library, he has figured that avoiding her is the best way not to get into trouble! It's parents evening next week and I'm gonna see the woman and have a little chat (with pre prepared list of points in case red mist descends and I become dumb!) I know my lad isn't perfect, but he's a kind and generous soul.:)

    1. Nearly made myself late for uni, but didn't :)

    2. Because I spent over 20 minutes trying to get into the website that told me which school I'm going to! :) I'm so relieved, it's a smallish school and I'll be with Year 5, along with another gal from the course.

    3. Who I bumped into and we've arranged to go for coffee tomorrow morning to discuss school and who we are etc, as we're not in the same tutor group.

    4. Survived PE lesson - was honest and told the teacher that I can't physically do certain things, and was praised for being creative and adapting the tasks to my abilities! Still ache like beggary now though....

    5. DD made me a helicopter out of paper to teach me about air resistance, in case I need to teach it in school, bless her :)

    6. We also played her amazingly fun and quirky take on snakes and ladders that she invented during her Brownies this week. Have told my parents they have to play it!!

    7. My second double espresso of the day was sooooooooooo good ;)

    8. Drove out to 'my' school on the way home. It'll take a bit more than the 20 minutes Goooogle says, as the last 3 miles or so are down a narrow country road to the village! But, it could have been 90 minutes' drive away, so I will enjoy the scenery and keep my eyes open for dozy pheasants crossing the road!!

    9. When I got up this morning, it felt like Christmas - and wondering if Father Christmas would bring a wished for present. (And 'he did', as I was hoping for a smallish village school, rather than a big, inner-city one) :)

    10. Have been emailing and FB chatting to some lovely chums tonight.
