Sparrer - glad your dog is getting better.

VJsmum - ah, Coventry.... The long-forgotten MrB's home town. Actually, I quite like trips to Coventry (cathedral, Ikea etc) that don't involve MrB!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) A good sleep and a lie in.

    2) A day at home. There were one or two arguments but sons kept themselves amused after a fashion.

    3) HM soup for lunch (bigger son will still do all food preparation as long as he is allowed to use his penknife!). Bingo winnings for tea - spaghetti, meatballs and focaccia. I also made a blackberry and apple crumble.

    4) Bigger son got drama homework finished, half heartedly.

    5) Phone call from my school friend.

    6) A few games of Uno.

    7) Looking forward to bed, hwb and the Archers omnibus.

    1) following frith's post had porrige for brekkie nom nom
    2) best friend came to cathedral with me (which meant i go a lift yay)
    3) alhough multi is sposed to start charging at 1 and we didnt get back to the car till 10 past the machine didnt charge us
    4) have been given 2 free tickets to operas week after this. Scottish opera doing handel (cant remember which) and shostakovich's The Nose (which bf sez will run and run rofl)
    5) made ham and veg soup with ham bones from butcher and some veg that needed using up.

  • Good morning all !

PK - oooh a new COL
Sparrer - I am glad to hear that mutley is doing ok

    6 for yesterday

    1. It rained all day. Glad that I washed OH's work shirts the day before which prevented him using the tumble drier today.

2.OH bought back a load of the "free" newspapers that he gets at waitR*se.Nice to relax and read the papers on a lazy Sunday

3."Dipped" my hair using the last half of colour in the box. I have run out of my usual shampoo and have forgotten to get any more (at £3.69 a bottle I am in no rush. I shall wait for a BOGOF) but found an ancient unopened A*on one that is "similar" to the same brand, tried it. It seems ok.

4.Took terrier out in the dark around the block ,as it had stopped raining. She sniffs every slug -I hope that they were slugs as the low energy street lights are not great for seeing uneven pavements or any "stuff" on them.Reverbed a 5p though;)

5.OH cooked steak in mushroom and madeira sauce , potato rosti, leeks in cheese sauce and veg.... I had seconds too.

    6. Cold sort of gone , just left with a scaly bit under my nose from the nose blowing -how very attractive! . Hugs DD

    Have a good Monday all

Hello.....heating is on, I'm under the duvet and I'm still frozen! Rain, rain and more rain with the odd hailstorm thrown in for good measure! It's supposed to be spring!

On the positive side ....it's good for the gardens and will fill the reservoirs up too.

I now know what an Oxford comma is.....had never heard of one before.

Tiny shift today, went okay, cut myself (again) on a sharp knife....this must be the 4 th time. Going back in in an hour to do some training.

Walked up to post office this morning to post some mail and started to buy my Christmas stamps. I went in last week to buy stamps for cards to UK, usually $1.70 and a letter stamp is $2.60. Was told all stamps to UK will now be charged at $2.60, however in November you can send Christmas cards for $1.70.... Confused? Me too! Anyway decided if I buy a few stamps over the next few weeks it won't hurt my purse so much!

Popped into charity shops for a mooch and both had a $2 rail. Got 2 pairs of trousers and a top for $6, about £3.50.
I also donated a bag of books and magazines.

Did a bit of tidying before heading to work.

Now going to make macaroni cheese for dinner.....last night we had mince and tatties!

Best news....OH leaves UK today :):):) he has been given a list of supplies to see us through until we come home in 9 little weeks!

    DD happy new tablecloth !
frith I do like your bingo prizes!
tealady, ampersand , villagelife and old tractor I hope you are all well and living quietly :)
  • Tiger currently is on hunger strike. He is not eating, but drinking water. Vetting shortly.

3 Just having Monday Crunch Lunch. More crab and claws

5 Managed to oof off Ms BoPsies three words last nite at Scrabble and easily gain victory. Practice is nearly making perfect for Ms BoPsie, but not quite yet.

1 If we can, we should do so

2 Discussing what the difference between a real ale and a stout at the gin palace this morning. Well, we all agreed that Norfolk cider is probably the best, so here endeth today’s celebrations.

4 Get you fruit bowls ready gals, as tomorrow the fruit is going to be festered for this year’s Christmas Cake and Pudding. Remember, the fuill recipe will be available on 1st November 2013. This year we shall be using a fresh tin of Black Treacle, as the previous variant, use by day May 2008, is well dusted and rusted. Was OK last year as there were no fatalities, but Ms BoP decided to unlid the thing yesterday and she does not like what she saw!

If we can, we should! Then ask that we now have vaccines to help prevent disease, methods to extract oil, and the ability to feed the world using gm crops. Then why are the yummy mummy organic community against such a thing. Still, put back that baby corn from Kenya, when Africa is starving.
  • Good evening all !

    5 for today

    1. Work ok

    2. One of my colleagues has returned from her holiday looking tanned and terrific.Lucky woman

3.My manager informed me that I have been chosen to mentor (ha!) one of the new people in our team. A person that I feel is a blagger, and a loud mouth who knows it all , already! (takes one to know one you might say ;)) I shall view it as a challenge ...

    4. Egg fried rice with bendy veg .for tea Put some fresh chilli in it and have made the mistake of touching my nose!

    5.My cold has gone :T

Have a good evening all !

    1) NSD.

    2) Got permission to take some time off work to get a new puddy tat and, as it was quiet in the office, I spent some time looking at all the gorgeous furry faces on the CPL website - how I'm supposed to pick just one I really don't know!

    3) Cooked savoury mince for dinner and it caught on the bottom of the pan, but some careful spooning into a clean pan rescued the majority of it.

    4) Not OS, but the heating's on - only for an hour or so morning and evening, but quite blissful!

    5) Planning an early night tonight as, as usual on a Sunday, I didn't sleep well last night.

BoP - hope tiger recovers soon.

PK - yay for the new CoL! :j

    DD - get well now!
Back after a very long break!

    Signing in from squat.
Back an hour or two ago from 3k+miles and at last - the glory of JC Superstar at the O2 last night, after 4am ferry arrival exprès. Wondrous Tim M, also a fantastic Caiaphas and - totally unexpected bonus - as audience finally accepted performance was over, made moves to leave, onto stage came Sir Tim R and Sir Andrew LW! Collective jaw drop, disbelief, then thunderous reception. beautiful chat and talk from both, moving and marvellous.
More tomorrow folks - blessings to you all.

Hooray! Ampersand is back and she finally got to see Tim M :) (and the others, but Tim's my favourite!)

Very glad to read the nasty colds are clearing up, keep well everyone x

    1. Managed to get up and out to uni in time, it was hard, my bed was so cosy....and it was raining hard....

    2. After a stress start to the uni day (chatting to a lecturer about my fears on my big assignment, then a massive lecture with tons of info about our school placement requirements next week that put the fear of you know who into me), the day got much better!

    3. My uni friend who was looking for a new place to live after being dumped into a garage with a bed in it (outrageous I know!!) has found a much nicer family to lodge with - hoorah for him! Prayers answered :)

    4. I've been invited to join a new church home group, starting on Wednesday - shame it clashes with PTA meeting....but I'll ditch the PTA ;)

    5. Yummy scrummy soup for dinner :)

    6. Have a tub of leftover rice and salady stuff awaiting me for tomorrow's lunch, nomnom.
