Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Frith - I've only just remembered but I thought of you on my way home on the train on Monday, when I could see a field from the train which looked very much like they were doing an archaeological dig (a digger making straight-line trenches in odd places in an empty field - I can't think what else it could have been, really).

    1) Managed to get everything ready for an event I'm running tomorrow, although it looked like a close-run thing at one point.

    2) Grey and gloomy all day, but no rain so I didn't get soggy when I went up to the bank at lunchtime.

    3) Got my veg box and put together a meal plan for next week, and all I'll need to buy is some tinned tomatoes and a pint of milk. :money:

    4) Don't feel like cooking this evening so I'll have some of the sausage casserole I made last night, storing it in me rather than in the freezer as planned. ;)

I'll bank #5 for another day as I can't think of one now. :o Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Chicken: :rotfl: ahh for the days when they used to ask for my ID not just "glance" up.

LFS: A lovely blog, and Spanish omelette is a firm fav.

    1. This is a sad pleasure, our little ferret that we had rescued at a week old, with the heart condition passed away very peacefully at 1 year old and 1 month. I can honestly say he loved every day, bouncing each day to the full, and never knew a days hardship in his short life, I know it’s a weird pleasure but in some odd sense I am so glad we made it the best life we possibly could, interacting with him all of the time, but of course that is also what makes it so so hard.:(
    2. Work was silly busy, but was ok like that as it took my mind of things a bit, as I tried not to “well up” and “drama” the team was running shall we say “tense” today, and by the end of the day someone had come along and cleared a lady’s desk of all of her things. Oh er.
    3. Received a call from DH saying he was in hosp, while I was snowed at work I tried not to go into melt down, his foot arch as dropped and the accident has caused “fastitis” extremely painful, but I knew it must be bad as he is “allergic” to hospitals. But he’s home now.:):)
    4. Dinner is going to be delivered, sheer CBA.

Hugs to people feeling under the weather. Sorry, I'm cream-crackered tonight and can't focus on names and wanted to do a more eloquent reply; just have been smiling at the lovely pleasures and sending virtual hugs and soothing prayers to those who need them xx

    1. Yay! Got through my art lesson - the teacher was pleased with me :)

    2. The sun came out :)

    3. DD crept in last night and so we had a lovely cuddly sleep :)

    4. Went over the 'rec with her when I got back from school.

    5. Yummy chocolate bar.....

    6. DD loved her first keyboard lesson :)

    7. Looking forward to going to my bed in a mo, night all x

Already in bed! Can't remember the last time I was in bed before 9pm.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) Funeral went OK. Aunty couldn't go - she'll remain in hospital for a few more days. Saddest bit was when the vicar explained at the beginning why she wasn't there and that someone was "sitting with her while the funeral took place".

There was one funny bit. We are related to aunty (not uncle, only by marriage). My grandma (aunty's older sister) had a massive family. Her mum was the youngest of 17 and her dad was one of 22! Anyway, at grandma's funeral, 2 of her cousins (she had over 100) turned up out of the blue and tucked into the buffet!

We were laughing on the way this morning that none of those cousins would turn up today because it was just the funeral of husband of aunty, rather than anyone related to them.... but if they did attend we would know them because they'd be obscured by their plate of cakes. :-D

So, half way through the buffet, my uncle's sister came over to my dad and said "those ladies over there are (family name) - cousins of yours, J" and there were 2 different cousins again who had materialised!

    2) National Trust magazine came through the post.

    3) Smaller son had his hair cut. (Bigger son would not).

    4) Tasty pizza, garlic bread and corn on the cobs for tea.

    5) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    That's it for today!

DD - Like you I am trying to make myself interesting lunches so I don't get tempted to buy lunch from somewhere. Today is Pasta, courgette and pesto :)
That sounds good. May well have that tomoz.
mhags and frith all this talk of haircuts. Must get mine done
    1) friend's car still in garage but weather lovely so another good walk in
    2) lunch was layered salad cos i was in a hurry :D left over rice, prawns, cucumber, tomato, olives and balsamic
    3) xoh picked me up in the car cos the good weather ended mid afternoon
    4) we went straight to lidl. £56 but bought tons of fresh fruit and veg and refilled empty shelves
    5) found loads of rumpoles on youtube. Put the fire on and the side lights and watched a couple of episodes with xoh. Amost like old times. Very strange! (Her bf's taking her away our anniversary weekend so dont expect any disappearance of the x, but good to stay friends)

Friday and a day off to boot so double hurrahs

Surprisingly did not wake up ridiculously early but woke up still very tired but knew I could have a snooze later!

Did grocery shop, gave a pack of tissues from my bag to a woman with distressed messy child ( no idea what was all over her) and had a nice chat with lady on the till. I have decided to make the kids and OH a hamper each for our m-early Christmas , so was buying some things for that and will continue to buy something each week.....anyway, I didn't want her to think I normally buy so many sweet things at a time....and we had a nice chat! Over here, they pack your bags and stand up to do so! No sitting on a chair chucking your groceries down the belt!
Got a few rtc things to and special offers I will use.

Home....and the blooming key saga continues.....luckily son was still at home so could let me in! I need to take the key back as it's just not unlocking every time!

Put shopping away, hung out washing, tidied up a bit and then went for an hour of relaxation at salon. Haircut and brows waxed...looking gorgeous again!

Popped into op shop next door to salon and bought a large photo frame to make DD2 a collage of this years production, I did this last year by putting some photos of her and the fliers and programme.....so thought I'd do one for this year. Last nights show was really good, again but soooo cold....actually saw someone had brought their own blankets!

Home for a wee snooze on the sofa! DD1 came home before heading back out to work.....I did recall a muttered, sleepy conversation with her and then zzzzz back to sleep!

I've made a very delicious chilli for tea....just had to have a wee taste and watched GBBO whilst cooking.

A small rant about estate agents! As you know we rent our UK home out, tenants moved out and left a bit of mess. We had to pay upfront to get repairs done and were told it would come out of their deposit and we would be refunded......cue email sent on Tuesday along the lines of where's our money?
Asked to pay for some other repairs and maintenance and money sent for that 2 weeks ago today....can I please have confirmation you received it?

No response from them, the person I was communicating with's email seems no longer valid, so yesterday I sent another email to every single persons email we have had contact with within the company....

Reply at 1am my time ( hence being tired this morning) apparently with a financial statement attached ( wasn't) , monies repaid into our account at start of week ....it hasn't been and don't know how much as there was no attachment!

Could I please remind them of when the extra money was sent.....er...2 weeks ago, I emailed you straight back to say I had transferred funds, so I emailed back at 1.30am my time which was 4.30pm yours and would have thought business was still being carried out at that time....anyway, no email and absolutely no money in the bank! I am not impressed with the lack of communication & lack of our cash! I shall wait another hour to see if I get a response and then shall phone and rant at them instead of you lot!!

Do have a lovely day and shout out loud. Hurrah! It's Friday :)

Morning all - feeling a little better today. It's very strange - feels a bit like morning sickness or being on a boat, or both (which I have experienced and it isn't pleasant), when in fact it's neither :D I think the anti-b's have kicked in, which shows I was right to go to the quacks (I always have to justify a visit to the drs, OH said he knew I was ill as I went straight away!).

Mhags - I feel your frustration, we drew down OH's pension and have invested it in rental properties and have similar issues at times - and we only live 20 miles away!
LFS - am liking the blog. You have inspired me to load some stuff on one I started years ago. I will put link in when it's fit to be seen.
PK / Chicken - I was ID'd in America last year when I bought some wine. I was chuffed to bits, until she said that they had to ID everyone, even a 70 year old man just before me :(:p

    For yesterday

    1. Feeling a little better
    2. Watched 2 more Killings :D Sarah's jumper is still impressive and why is it always dark in Copenhagen?
    3. Started knitting my winter jumper project. Finished 2 separate tension squares - the first on the recommended needles was too small, so changed up the needles a size and the second was about right. So started the back with the larger needles - it's massive!, so started again on correct needles. What was the point of that? Fingers crossed it's ok.
    4. Managed to do a bit of work
    5. Watched some Miranda with DD, I think DD is like Miranda and she thinks I'm like Miranda's mum. Such fun!!!

    Have a nice day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    1. Hair cut :T

    2. Bought a spotty royal blue shirt from a nearly new shop for £3.50 OH hates me buying second hand clothes . Tough -I like it, however I would draw the line at underwear and shoes .Its a bit on the large side but I will wear stuff under it .

3.I did a work out in my pants as had the second layer of fake bake on my legs which dried nicely on the exercise bike :rotfl:Didn't scare Britain as have a gym in my bedroom folks !

    4. Hens laying well

    5. Terrier has been asleep on my bed all day and had to suffer the "pants" workout. She had her eyes tightly shut :rotfl:I expect she called the RSPCA afterwards :rotfl:

Looking forward to wearing my new dress tonight at wedding reception (vouchers, and heavily discounted of course ). It's quite "grown up" for me and OH has not seen it on yet .. should be interesting .He will either love it or think that I look like Miss Marples on acid :rotfl:
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
