  • "Dad wants thyme, marjoram & orinoco" (at least I can nurture herbs.)

Home made sandwich for lunch at the office.

Hearing the delight from a colleague when she realised that although she'd be doing new & intimidating things in a strange office, my box of guest mugs & brew kit would be there alongside her.

Helped a colleague with under desk cabling - I heaved tangles of cable around til there was proper leg room (*&* my colleagues still had working computers!)

Watching a son snaffle the Kindle which I've loaded with Horowitz (Alex Rider), Higson (young Bond) & real Henry Rider Haggard - he's wild about Indy so I offered him the original. He's curled up in another universe now, but gloriously warmly snuggled up beside me. I can leave the heating off another day!

Waved hullo across the Atlantic via Facebook to my cousin. They're all deep in 9/11 remebrance and were pleased to have digital company.

Big hugs to all who need them!

Frith - hugs, hope the right decision (whatever that may be) is made about the funeral xx

    1. Yay! I've got my own version of a reverbe, a kittikins (having 1-100 in one go type of pleasures :):) )

    2. As I am a glutton for punishment, I've volunteered to take Art tomorrow! Could be fun....what I know about art / rainforests / teaching can be written on the head of a pin, only 1h10 minutes of lesson to cope with, lol. Bring it on!!

    3. Managed to get out of triple hockey today (shame it wasn't lacrosse, lol, I've always wanted to see that, but this is a hockey sticks kind of school) - and so was able to....

    4. Pick DD up from the school gate :):):):):):):) A lovely surprise for her and a lovely hug for me :)

    5. Met her very nice teacher who I approve of wholeheartedly :)

    6. Had a doctor's appointment at our new surgery and she eventually managed to take my blood pressure and issue me with my usual medicines, despite my old surgery not having sent any notes through. Phew!

    7. NSD

I am lying in my bed as i've been poorly all day. Had a rum do in the middle of the night - got up for a wee (sorry if TMI:o) staggered around the bedroom. Was dizzy and nauseous and couldn't get my balance. Was a bit scary actually. Turns out it's my sinuses that are inflamed / infected. Have felt poorly on and off for a week and it all came to a head (literally!) in the night. Anyway after crashing on the sofa all day and a dose of antibiotics i am hopeful of improvement tomorrow.

Impressed with the Kangaroo story :)
Frith - so sorry for your loss and your worry re aunt also

    Yesterday's pleasures

    1. A mix up over who i was texting ended up with this exchange with OH. His text read "i am sitting on the train looking up at the hill we walked over the other week", my reply "Good. Make sure you don't get reinfected" :rotfl: It was meant for my brother who had just texted that dad had caught his D&V tummy infection but was feeling better.
    2. Dean's conference was quite fun. I stabbed the table with my finger a few times to emphasise a point.
    3. there was a free lunch - but it was horrid. Made up for it with cake.
    4. made a nice bolognaise for tea. DS didn't notice the onion or the mushroom and had seconds (thank goodness for food processors that chop incredibly small)
    5. turned my rubbish flapjack cakes into rather nice chocolate flapjack cakes which are a whole lot more palatable. i melted some chocolate, crumbled cake into it, mixed it in and spooned into paper cases. Probably not that different to your oaty bars, chicken.

    and today's

    1. Knowing i don't have some dreaded illness, just inflamed sinuses. horrible tho that is.
    2. watched blackout and felt happy that i have some preps in should something like that occur
    3. Watched the first episode in the Killing - second series.
    4. Lovely OH who came home from work, took DS to his maths lesson, cooked tea and cleared up as I just couldn't
    5. Laying in bed listening to DS laughing his head off next door - he's probably watching something highly unsuitable :p

    Night all

Kittikins - I had my blood pressure done today at the doccy's. Managed to remember to tell her that it is extremely low generally, in case she thought my dizziness was that. She asked what it typically is (90/50) and it was....

    90/50 :p

Ooh ooh - I forgot my best pleasure and truly MSE - I have an "i've been money tipped" badge. My thread on student supplies was featured in the weekly email. :T:T Go me!! (I'll save the beer for later!)
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • CCP - well I've put my pickles in their jars, gotta leave them a few weeks to mature, I'll let you know what they end up like!
Chicken - thankyou x It's one of our favourite tea's and I like it as its soooo cheap:D
Frith - I found you! Is it like where's wally? You need to wear something more noticeable next time! Poor Aunty, I hope she's ok x
    1. Potted my pickles:D
    2. Crunchy chard crisps
    3. what my mum would have called 'spanish omelette' for tea. potatoes, onion and a little bacon and eggs. Joyfully cheap and cheerful:D
Off to sort out OH's PC download...oh dear!!

6pm ish here and about to watch Holby so that counts as a pleasure.

Woke up super early, so decided I would take the train to work, enjoyed the walk to and from the station, at that point a beautiful morning ( absolutely poured all morning after that)

Work is getting more like work and less like a love in! So that's more normal I think! Enjoying it but working hard too. Still learning and always asking!

DD1 met me at train station and we went to sub way for tea....$5 deal and that was us fed and watered. We are going out tonight to see DD2 show ( think freezing blooming cold hall for longer as its final night and all the lovey and darling stuff at the end! ) we will walkover the scary bridge and OH will collect us all...much, much later!

Made appointments for haircut tomorrow. desperately needed

As we walked back a flock of approximately 200 cockatoos flew over us.
    Lovely stuff!

    Enjoy your day !

    Morning

LFS - Love the blog and the wheelbarrow story gets better everytime I read it.
VJsmum - Hope your feeling better today.
Kittikins - Your posts are making me smile as can see how happy you are after all the worry of recent months
DD - Like you I am trying to make myself interesting lunches so I don't get tempted to buy lunch from somewhere. Today is Pasta, courgette and pesto :)

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. NSD
    2. Yummy beef noodle leftovers for lunch, made the person that sits opposite me want chinese for dinner as she could smell my lunch :D
    3. Nice chat with mum on the phone and whilst she is still a bit depressed she sounded more normal today. DM suffers with depression and this week understandably has taken its toll.
    4. Had some of my HM tomato and chilli sauce for dinner with chicken and pasta. If I say so myself it wasn't too bad, even got the seal of approval from DD.
    5. Found a jumper I like in a certain frech catalogue and if I order can get £15 off and a free pair of PJ's :money:so will be ordering that today.

Hugs to all who need them
  • Yesterdays :-

    1. Having hubby home unexpectedly

    2. Giving my kitchen a really good clean

    3. Making a tea what my family made yummy noises while eating

    4. Having a cuppa with a friend and catching up

    5. Letting my chickens out and having a cuddle
  • Good evening all !

PK - thank you re the linky x I might wander down there on Saturday - although I am trialling a free sample of some of that brands anti ageing stuff that will make me look 5 years old :rotfl:

VJsmum - Poor you , how horrid:( . Get well now please - (beer and antibiotics don't mix ... apparently ;))

Skintos - are you off of the "gear" yet??

Frith- you in pic. small but perfectly formed :)

    5 for today

    1. DM had her knee op. and came home about 9pm last night . Woosy from general anaesthetic and bandaged up nicely. I"Put mother to bed " and kept terrier here in case she jumped/banged on her knee. Terrier slept like a log and so apparently did the Aged P. Tough as old boots ! First tattoo at 72 and all that :D

    2. Took OGV for new tyres all round. No school run traffic, roads desolate at 8.30am . V weird. Served first in garage :TTook book and only 45 mins wait and back home again.

3.Received a letter I was copied into by Neurosurgeon writing to my g.p re the pregab he had prescribed and that he wants me to have them increased and my scan results. It started " I was delighted to see Chicken (obviously not Chicken) today":rotfl:yeah right.

    4. Bread from breadmaker.

5.Washing done , lazy day really as on "pensioner watch" to just see if she really is ok ..

Off to fake bake my legs for the "do" tomorrow...

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
