1, DD
(both mind, and of course, our beloved Dundee Doll's birthday
xx)
2. Went to our new chum's house for lovely, relaxed, delicious lunch - and came home 6 hours later!
3. DD and chum's younger son went off on bikes around the village. It was the first time she's been the older child on a ride and I could tell she was a bit wary of being away from me/and older chum, but as her new friend is very used to riding around there, I'm glad I urged her to go, as she came back full of beans and I'm aware that I'm loosening my apron strings a bit. Good for us both
4. Found more stuff I thought I'd thrown away - thank goodness! My favourite trousers saw the light of day today, hoorah
5. Lots more prep for course work done - still tons to go, silly me, leaving so much til the last minute like this!0 -
Okay , will try again with a lengthier post today, it's so frustrating to lose one!
So I'm back to being a working woman....phoned OH at end of shift and said I've had a great day at work and then laughed and asked him when is the last time I said that?
Official day of opening today and an early start ( with an even earlier one tomorrow ) , got parked in free car park ...well at least there does not seem to be a time limit. We were a bit slow to start but soon got into the swing of things.seems like a nice bunch of folk to work with....and hey! We get fed! I had crostata verde..spinach and ricotta tart! It was delicious.
So, so far so good!
I had a nice chat with friend on the phone this morning before I went out.
Going to make lentil soup for tea...with pineapple upside down cake for pudding.
Need to get up of my backside and go and do something!
ETA...made veggie/ lentily soup....all flung in together and smells nice
Had a bath....aaaaah! And relax!
Listening to Mr Blackbird singing ! It's 6.10pm and still light....not bright but not dark.......we are getting there, even driving to work this morning it was bright and sunny , a month ago I was driving in the dark.
kittikins hope the house sale gets sorted ASAP
dundee doll is fabulous at 50! Have a great birthday !0 -

Well done on loosening those apron strings, Kittikins, gently does it.
Glad work is going well, Mhags
Frith - Pigeon???
lots of very OS activities - picking, bottling, jamming etc
Pleasures for yesterday
1. N and N didn't arise too early so had a small lie in and a soak
2. Got FN off onto her train OK and sadly waved bye bye(though the daft mare has left her makeup here so I have to try to post it back. Apparently she's having a twitter melt down about it
)
3. DD took N and N to the flicks while I did shopping in peace. Never thought I'd say "well done, Mr S" but they done good yesterday. A couple of months ago I bought some sunglasses and dropped them after a few weeks and they broke. I didn't really think I'd dropped them hard enough for them to do that but went and bought another pair. Picked them up yesterday and they literally fell apart in my hand. Took both pairs back and they refunded more than I paid (not quite sure why, but the guy did it deliberately) and gave me another pair free! :T
4. N and N are much better behaved than they used to be but, whilst boy N (nephew, I guess) is easy to entertain and will entertain himself the, older, niece is quite hard. She is extremely quiet and quite secretive - she will hide behind doors and watch you. she can't settle to anything, wont read a book or watch some TV. She is nearly 12 and seems much younger. She is off to senior school next week and I am worried for her. She, of course, took more of the brunt of her father's illness and death than nephew did and I am not sure she has - oh, I don't know, recovered? Adjusted? But of course, they never will. Anyway I did some baking with her which she and I enjoyed, and which others will enjoy the proceeds of.
5. Had a Barbie with the chiminea.
DD is taking N and N to sealife today while I go to work for a short time, then we are going to pizza express - courtesy of Mr T.:TI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Happy Birthday DD :bdaycake:0

For yesterday:
1) Bank holiday, so a nice late morning.
2) Peanut butter and banana sandwich for breakfast.
3) My DF came over with a crowbar to make a hole in the rubble in the garden for my new bird-feeder, and helped me put the thing together when it proved more complicated than I expected.
4) Sitting outside a pub in the evening sunshine with my DPs and an ice-cold beer.
5) Dinner out - our first choice restaurant was abandoned when they refused to accept a voucher my DM had been sent by the head office ("it's not valid today" (it says 'bank holiday' on it); "it's not valid without a unique code" (you mean the one printed on it?); "it's not valid unless you print off the terms and conditions" (it doesn't say that anywhere); "ah, OK, it's not valid at this restaurant" (fine, we'll go somewhere else then!)) but we ended up somewhere much nicer, enjoying their excellent value fixed price menu, served by staff who couldn't have been more helpful if they'd tried. :T
Today:
1) Day off, which proved to be a good thing as I had a dreadful night's sleep and wouldn't have been any use in the office anyway.
2) Pruned some shrubs, and trimmed some leaves off my tomato plants as the tomatoes are stubbornly refusing to change colour.
3) Filled in various surveys, working my way towards more Amaz0n vouchers. :money:
4) Wrote a review of the restaurant we went to last night - I love writing happy reviews.
5) Tennis to watch on tv this evening.
Have a nice evening, all, and happy birthday DD!Back after a very long break!0 -

Had one - a bit woozy tbh.Best bit was the Nurse said "do you want all of your MRI scans/xrays from 1998"? . Ooh yes please ! OH carried a huge sackful home. 6. The drive home was lovely today.
7. We finished the crossword, with DD getting words that we were pleasantly surprised at0
