kittikins - as virtual tea has not worked, may I pour you a virtual long cool drink with a kick to it...?!

Waving to the tailor again. (Ours is not a "hullo tailor!" relationship - much more muted, terribly British somehow. Seems to thrive on rain.)

Coughing for the pharmacist to select another brew for me & discussing the relative merits of sons & dogs. The adoration is nice, but apparently spaniels can't make a cup of tea.

Scouting! They were short of grown ups & asked *me* to stay, despite it being a "set about you with a hammer" night. I'm very glad (as a lapsed Girl Guide) that today's girls have a choice & that the ones I was removing nails with were a smashing bunch.
I may try to wean them off "girl power!" though...

It's a Bank Holiday on Monday. This means, Bank Holiday Sleep! (Anticipation is an OS pleasure, yes?!) and if I change the bedding on Sunday, Bank Holiday Sleep on clean sheets - double win!

Youngest son came & snuggled on my lap. Flashback city - plus bemused awareness he is getting almost too tall for this. Seized the opportunity & hugged him soundly back!
I'll chivvy him through School Uniform Fitting some other time.

Skipped around the world admiring the posts on the My Best Photo thread. Bless them, they don't seem totally hung up on food!

Morning all, its rather wet here in the south but promises of 2 days of sun on sunday & Monday... fingers crossed

kittikins (((((hugs))))) aren't solicitors and estate agents on the top ten most hated people list ? Can understand why.

Frith, glad to hear sons are home, village show sounds fab hope the weather is good to you

DigForVictory enjoy and treasure those son cuddles, they soon grow up/out of it don't they.

    Pleasures

    1. after taking some clothes back to Mat alan I got back the £5 voucher I used. Was only expecting to get back what I paid.

    2. work continues to go well :) but am still glad its friday

    3. neighbour has started to replace our boundary fence (his on the deeds) and support posts are now in. He popped over to paint my side of the only panel still standing.... fence will look v good once its all up.
Puts to shame the fence I am responsible for on the other side of my garden :o (boundary with other neighbours) but whilst its still standing I don't intend to fork out for a replacement.

    4. went to the dentist and don't need any work doing. Don't have to go again for another 9 months, but apparently I need to floss..... where's the cheapest place to buy floss??? Do they do it in £ land?

    5. made a big pot of chilli with a scrap of mince beef, tin toms & tin beans and some shrivelled red peppers. Nice for tea and enough left to freeze for another day

    6. sleep.
So tired this week so was glad to doze off on the sofa about 10pm. Slept till midnight then got up and went to bed. Managed to get straight back to sleep only waking slightly to hear DS come in from night on the town... don't know what time in the wee small hours that was.... and slept till 8am.

Have a great Bank Holiday weekend everyone x

I decided to treat myself to a really pleasant lazy day today:

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) Set the breadmaker on its timer so I woke up to the smell of freshly baked bread.

    3) Spent some time playing my current favourite (free) computer game.

    4) Made a big batch of healthy chilli con carne - half low fat minced beef, half green lentils - and it's bl00dy lovely if I do say so myself.

    5) After a gloomy day the yellow thing has now made its appearance.
Back after a very long break!

BoP DD wuz robbed, the first was a photograph of the half built tesco store that the townspeople objected to :(. I don't know if she's competition for you though. Yet :p
mhags I don't know what's happened to ampersand, seems she was on line yesterday but perhaps not able to post. Hopefully she'll be back on soon

Been a sleepy day, think I pushed myself yesterday but I wanted to get some jobs finished. Trouble is I'm wide awake now! Nothing really new to list, except perhaps
    1. thankful for the rain which gives us our 'green and pleasant land'
    2. grateful for my family who are in the main fit and healthy, or at least have the same attitude as me to illness. We didn't invite it into our lives so it has to live with us, not the other way round :p
    3. my f/f and larder are full enough to keep me going to a couple of weeks
    4. there are 30 apples on the Coxes espalier. Getting better, the first year there were 8, last year there were 19. It's only a little tree in a very little garden so it's doing very well ;)
    5. Although not wealthy the essentials are paid for and I'm reasonable financially secure, in fact better off day-to-day than ever before.
All in all I'm pretty darned lucky :D

    Sweet dreams :)

Hello, Sunday evening and watching a Midsomer Murder....wonder whodunnit?

Have had a very productive day in the garden.....more weeds weeded.
Raised beds dug over by son....green bin stomped down by DD2 jumping in and out as we tried to put more in it and DD1 managed to stand on a rusty nail and pierce her foot...luckily she's up to date with her tetanus.
Loads still to do but looks so much better already. Nice to have all the kids doing something together!

My car is shiny again courtesy of my kind husband ....unfortunately the possums will have pooped on it again by tomorrow morning!

Washing all dried out on the line today ....just going to iron it.

We went out for lunch so don't need dinner and DD1 and DS have had leftovers from last nights tea for their dinner.

I had hummingbird cake for the first time today.....now not low carbing but just not so much carbing!

A pleasant day , mild and stayed dry.

Back to work tomorrow....need to set the alarm clock!

    Have a lovely Sunday :)

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Food shopping done and a few pounds over budget but know that by the end of the month it will be back under. Bought lots of things we use on special offer so cupboards and freezer are groaning under the strain.
    2. Little snooze in the afternoon
    3. Yummy chinese for dinner not OS but we did enjoy it
    4. It stopped raining in the early evening so we could go to Windsor Races and see Scouting for Girls afterwards :j and stopped DD having a face like a slapped bottom as she thought we wouldn't be going :rotfl:
    5. We all had a win at the races but DD came out with a profit. So she bought herself a print by an equine artist that she liked and bought us all a drink. She still had a bit more than she went with.
    6. Lovely River boat to and from the races so nice too just sail along the Thames and not be stuck in traffic. Can't believe we have never been to Windsor race course before as it is so close by and a lovely little race course, not as posh as Ascot but just a nice atmosphere.

Hugs to all who need them. Kittikins hope you get the house sorted on Tuesday. MHagster have a good day at work tomorrow

Aye, photo comps depend on the judge. If they do not like your style of photo, you get knocked. I like those that appreciate photography and the skill of getting the shots instead. The subject should be secondary. I like it as long as the picture relates to the title in some way.

Nope, not cooking today. I have given up my apron for the weekend! No lumpy custard.

5 Undecided about tea. Could be hog roll with apple sauce, Dog Burger or Gammon Egg and chips. Have to tredder there in the next five minutes.

4 New tyres on tredder, ready for the road test in 10 minutes. then I thinks some pure Hogwash wobbleades to see me home.

3 Just checking that the Yellow bits are working ok. Need money for meter soon. Thinks Sparra flying south for winter!

2 gether with Ms Whaskijajajajaja, Going to be a long cool pint of Stroud best soon!

1 Do not go to the ends of the world just to fill your boots. Let be your village that is enough to satisfy your needs. Andf who cares whether it is a waterfall or not!

Right, tredder ready, Wobbleaeds a go go
