Morning all, I'm back in the land of wifi :D

PK - so sorry to hear of your accident. Please give yourself time to get over the shock.
Mhags - hope your first day went well
Kittikins - hope your house move gets sorted this week

Hello everyone else, far too many posts to catch up with but all read and appreciated.

Pleasures for the last few days

1 the weather :D:T only one day of rain, and that went by mid afternoon, most days were warm and sunny. I wore one fleece all week as it was only for an hour or two in the evening
2 amazing company. There were a group of 18 - 20 of us (it varied) most of whom were on the campsite (SIL and her two were in a B and B). We didn't always do everything together but there was always someone to do something with if you wanted
3 loads of activities - walks up hills and along beaches, bike rides on roads and cycle tracks (including my favourite one along the Mawddach estuary - it's stunning, 10 of us did that :p), trips on the steam train
4 spending time with OH. We got three days together just us two. That hasn't happened for years, bodes well for the future that we stil get on :rotfl:
5 on one cycle ride we were held up by sheep being rounded up. As they finished getting them into the field, the farmer turned to thank us for waiting, and said, in a thick welsh accent "bluddy faaaarrrmers, innet?" Had me :rotfl:(after we'd cycled away)
    6. FN's exam results. :T girl done good. There were three of our gang getting results and they all did exceptionally well, the best results were the lowest grades but the girl (not FN) had far surpassed all expectation.
7 DD came to visit for the day and really enjoyed herself, socialising with "the youff" (i.e the other teenagers) in the evening. She isn't always good at that
8 honey ice cream, something you can only get there so is a rare treat. Frith, can you believe I got to the point where I'd had enough?
9 SiL had some wonderful news. Can't put too much but it concerns a decision made regarding BiL's death, which will now give him some dignity and will change the death certificate. Definitely a closure and it was appropriate to celebrate.
10 good journey back and DD had sorted beds for niece and nephew who are staying for a few days (wish me luck) and put some washing on.

FN, who has been a joy, is leaving today :( other N and N are here till Wednesday, but a programme of activities has been arranged. Cinema today, sealife and pizza on Tuesday, theme park on Wednesday (god bless Mr T vouchers). Other N and Ns behaviour is much improved, well until bedtime. Last night out family of four was a family of 7 . How do people cope?

Have a good bank holiday all.

Oh, and Chicken? I think I'm going Gangnam style again! :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Beard hugs are passed to PKs. Minds me of a pilot, you have to be thankful to walk away.

Well, Ms Whackskjis treadder had brake failure last nite on way home. Front brake arm sheared. She just giggles and gaggles about all the way home. Bit crazy for her, but temp fix and she was on and off like a good one. Maybe tooooooooooooo many wobbleades. Now need to fix her bike again. Seems every time she goes out on her bike, something happens.

5 Had gammon, eggs and chips. Food ok, but place is like always gate crashing a wedding at weekends. Still, love to watch them sneak out for fags.

4 Thinks I shall do a new recipe mushroom curry laters on. That will be a pleasure.

3 More football to listen to later Mariners kick off later, tables are out for the first time later today. Dad BoP said that it shoes not matter until five matches gone. Thanks for the look at the photos SPARRA. I normally take about 500 to get some decent ones, but it is getting rid of all the carp ones that counts. One of the online ones was a sequence of about ten. Player only full ... No giving tooooooooooo much away.

2 gether again all days with Ms BoP.

1 We should be care not to add petrol to the fire that rages.

OK, special Beard Hugs to all and ones

    Stop Thread

Ms BoP says I was tanking it last nite on the tredder. Think I guided her home more like. That shows just how considerate I am.

Good, as Ms BoP shoulder surfs this, puts me well in her good bucks.

Okay I'll try again...just lost a long post grrrr!

So slightly briefer version....good day at work, nice drive to and reasonable journey back ( rush hour) , nice food eaten and good company AND they will pay me!

Watched Casualty ( once I'd put my slippers on...aahhhh!) whilst making steak pie ( meat in slow cooker all day) , mashed potatoes, cauliflower , carrots and turnip. Made a pineapple upside down cake ( very nice, just had it for pudding) with the help of DD2 who mixed the sponge....usually do it in kitchen aid but didn't want to pause Casualty!

Sun was shining , apparently and 19o but can't confirm that as I was inside all day! However I did hang 2 loads of washing out before work and DD1 brought it back in later.

PK and Mr PK hope you're okay , take it easy and take your time !
You will still feel shocked for a while yet. However , cars and caravans can be replaced ,purple people can't .

    Enjoy your holiday Monday!

Oh PK, what a dreadful thing to happen. :( I'm so glad you, Mr PK and the animaux are all OK.

Big hugs to Kittikins, too, and fingers crossed you exchange tomorrow and everything runs smoothly from here on.

My DPs are coming over this evening so I will post my pleasures tomorrow. :)
Back after a very long break!

PK - glad you're alive & posting! Good painkillers include tea, paracetamol & harsh language. Possibly a medicinal tot of brandy towards bedtime?

    OS pleasures
Bank Holiday Sleep. The last before Christmas (aaaargh) but oh, so good to peer blearily at the clock, shrug & roll over...

Decided not to bid on a wheelchair on eBay but to just see what's available at the various Ironbridge museums. BigDig may just have to accept we'll have to come back once his foot reminds him there are limits. (I just hope he doesn't undo all the healing he's put in so far.) I've several such chairs on my watch list, but he's adamant he doesn't want one.

Son found one of three boxes of Celebrations I'd bought & Put In A Safe Place. From the expiry date, must have been at least 2 years ago. Only the Twix ones taste any different, apparently & I noticed that they All got eaten.

Another son's Space Marines (overpriced toy soldiers) have now been varnished (purchase, assemble, paint, base, titivate with more paint etc, varnish the observed sequence) and now Can Be Played With! While the varnish dries, the lads have been playing card games...

Haggis for tea, with a mess of onions (about one & a half each) & real old fashioned mashed potato with real butter. (I reckon a plate of that a day will prevent wrinkles - I adore mash as a dermal filler. My BMI disagrees but since I have die of something, I'd much rather it was good living. Though I doubt that'll make it onto the death certificate.)

Budget survived a Costco run. Sons reminded as to why I *kept* buying baked beans whilst on promotion. Startling savings on toothpaste & BigDig's shampoo, & the usual hallelujah for industrial boxes of Persil!

Eldest son fell asleep on me, literally. Despite being a great lanky long independent person, enough of his small cute person memories kicked in to crawl over to me for a one part cuddle, three part pillow half-hour. Aww. (He still snores.)

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Updated DD's CV this morning and I went with her as she touted it around Windsor. Managed to give out 15 copies to shops looking for part-time staff so fingers crossed she has some luck.
    2. While out we treat ourselves to a piece of cake in Patisserie Valerie, very yum.
    3. DD needed new jeans so managed to get some a bit cheaper than the usual ones she gets, still not cheap but at least cheaper.
    4. Easy dinner of steak and ribs
    5. More washing dried on the line

Hugs to all who need them
  • Busy busy weekend. Here's my five.

    1. My niece's face when she opened her bday present. Squealing with excitement, she's only 2 and the cutest little thing in the world.

    2. Spring clean today with OH's help, we had a bit of a to-do about his lack of help around the house, think the message has been received.

    3. Picked a ton of blackberries. There are three woods within a five minute walk of our house and the entirety of the floor is covered in blackberry bushes.

    4. Big food shop done for a reasonable price.

    5. OH mispronouncing a word and me bursting into tears of laughter, it wasn't even that funny but a silly mood overtook me and I just couldn't stop laughing which made him laugh, sometimes it's nice to just have a mad moment together

Thank you for all the well wishes for mum, she's exhausted and fed up but doing well.

    1. 10 pints of HM tomato pasta sauce in freezer:D
    2. 6 large jars of sweet relish(very nice with cheese)
    3. Son hand mincing huge bowls of veg for relish:D its one of our yearly moments!
    4. Creamy tomato pasta and courgettes for tea, under a quid for 3 of us:D I love homegrown!
    5. Finding the slow cooker roast chicken recipe on the forums! Guess whats for tea tomorrow:D
    6. We went to the 40's event, us dressed 40's, son dressed as a nun. He got alot of attention and alot of 'ooh look a spy' THEN a whole platoon of homeguard came marching up to us and questioned us!! Truely hilarious:D:rotfl:
I honestly thought they were gonna drag him away! They all wanted him to say 'wolverhampton wanderers' :D
Big hugs to those who need em xxx

PK- sorry to hear about your road accident. Such a shock when someone runs into you like that. I hope you are OK and the insurance sorts things out swiftly.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Hummus sandwiches on HM bread for my lunch.

    3) Smaller son went to watch Worcs v Sussex cricket at 1 and didn't get home til nearly 8. I thought he would be bored so phoned my brother and sister at different intervals through the afternoon but he loved it! When I was on the phone I could hear him talking in the background about it. :-) He took his DS but didn't even get it out of the bag and enjoyed having a cake in the "ladies tent".

    4) I took bigger son geocaching in and around a local steam railway station. Saw a couple of trains but balked at paying £8 to look round the engine shed! So we had a cup of tea on the platform instead.

    5) Nice pigeon curry for tea.

    6) Went to pick smaller son up from brother's and they were just putting the table tennis table up so we had a few games, almost in the dark.
