Think I'll update now, looks like its going to be a difficult evening....
Pleasures for today:
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Porridge for breakfast.
3) Changed beds, mended hoover, did the hoovering.
4) Sat outside a bit with a cup of tea.
5) Sons geocaching travel bugs have moved!
Now the difficult bit. Sons went to their father's yesterday and are supposed to be staying til Friday. They are now both on the sofa watching Robson Green's Extreme Fishing...
Had smaller son crying on the phone (yesterday, this morning and this evening) wanting to come home. Had bigger son crying on the phone this evening because their father was going to take them camping in Wales tomorrow and bigger son was torn between wanting to come home with smaller son and not let his father down.
Their father, being as big a pr@t as ever, did some crying on the phone to me and generally tried being creepy and manipulative. When I picked them up, he tried to do a bit more crying but was actually watching television whilst sons were getting their stuff together.
Anyway, off to run them a nice bath.0 -
Been very busy socialising this week, partly due to all my lovely friends keeping me occupied while xoh was away with the bf for a cosy week's holiday (did that sound bitter? I will survive!) the diet will not have gone so well this week! So 5 from the last few days
1) mended a rift with a couple who live round the corner. I'm not saying we'll become bosom buddies but it's good to have buried the hatchet (and not in each other!)
2) went to a wedding in ex church with couple from 1) she sed any time i wanted to come back to the church... It was strange to be back. Some of my stuff is still up on the sunday school board!
3) i managed to get through the whole wedding service without shedding a single tear yay. 2 divorcees. Hope for me yet :-)
4) same cant be said of the reception, and did flee to the loos at one point for a good ol' sob but the rest of the evening was good and i even enjoyed myself dancing (with husbands of girl friends who undoutedly had told their husbands to spin me round the dance floor, but i accepted graciously)
5) lovely service at cathedral followed by lovely meal with friends today. Love sundays
I now have a confession to make - caught myself singing gaudete as i was cleaning! My excuse is the schools have gone back after the summer break :-) night all. Only 3 days till i'm off to prague and 9 days till i'm 50.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Well it's Monday morning here....might be my last one off for a while so I'm full of get up and go and feeling quite industrious....( we'll see how long that lasts!)
Some Sunday pleasures:
I slept until 7 am....normally wake up around 5 am ish , so that was a lie in!
Went to Healsville for some brunch. Scenery as usual stunning, you could turn 360o and the view is just perfect. Saw 2 kookaburras, 1 huge ibis ( wandering around) 2 pelicans and lots of parrots. (The only thing I miss about old work are the parrots and ducks, moorhens and water hens...that says a lot I think!)
Saw lots of horses, cows and sheep and the occasional llamas and a mob of kangaroos .
On Saturday I had picked up a seriously scraggy lavender plant rtc from $12 to $2.50 . OH was a bit doubtful , however , I knew all it needed was a big drink of water and sure enough it's revived. Anyway, popped back into supermarket to see if there were any left and picked up another 3 that were lurking at the back of the shelf....looking very forlorn. Now I have 4 healthy plants for less than the price of 1.
Lavender is one of my favourite plants and grows very well out here.
Lost at least an hour of my day reading debt free diaries .
Good chat with my oh so wise friend from home.
It was so cold and so windy but did stay dry.
frith enjoy your extra week with your boys, at least you know where they are , what they're up to and that they will be happy.0 -
Weekend pleasures
1. My dad realised he'd got his dates mixed up for something that we were going to do en famille, so DD and I went away to see one of my lovely oldest chums for the weekend instead
2. Before going, I was a very good kitty and tidied away the last of our things that were cluttering up the place.
3. Also took DD to the library and came away with lots more books
4. We had a lovely weekend, went bowling, ate yummy food, watched cheesy films, had a late night, chatted, received presents
5. Reverbe'd 3p in Co$tco car park when we stopped off for lunch and cheapy shopping on the way back.
6. Was bitterly disappointed by the lack of cinnamon buns in !kea (apparently they're a seasonal item now) but it was MS as we saved money (and calories) by not being able to buy them.....
7. Nice chats to friendly people and their babies whilst in various shopping queues.0 -
Good morning all !
PK - oooh off in the C.O.L again , how lovely
Frith- Oh dear. Your ex putting himself first again, well done for not getting drawn in. I expect the boys will have a lovely week with you doing interesting things, as always:)

Monday tea time- ish , lashing with rain and blooming freezing cold wind !
You'd think it was winter or something!
1. More industrious start to day than thought....we have little visitors of the squeaky variety, OH saw one ( which means it will be married with children) dashing back and forth under the sofa last night....they don't scare me in the way a spider / snake would but Dd1 is incredibly phobic about them....anyway, DS helped me pull sofa out....yep ,there's a great big hole in bottom and lots of squeak poo! Cleared it all up, sofa back in place ...for now, traps purchased and OH can have the pleasure of dealing with them.
2. Lots of washing done and out on line....at this point pretty blue sky and some sunshine!
3. Went to library to watch Casualty, borrowed a new audio book...having finally finished the 10 hour one....10 hours of pottering done last week then!
4. Back just in time to grab washing in as the rain was starting....son gave me the fright of my life as he leaned out the window to say cheerio....I thought he was out already! He thought this was hilarious !
5. Popped over to Salvos with DD2 after school as she needs 'stuff' for production....I'm not paying full price when they will be needed for 3 performances and never again! Got a pair of brand new black trousers for my work for $2.50.
6. Going to have a soup and pudding kind of tea. Lentil soup and I'm going to give flat bread a try. Then an iced apple sponge for pudding.....none for me
So the poop hit the fan this afternoon.....DD2 found out DD1 and friends had went to see her year head on Friday.....school finally saying its bullying....oh really? There's a surprise! There's been a whole load of nasty cyber bullying going on which school say they can't do anything about.....anyway, DD2 not talking to her sister as she broke a trust, DD1 not caring as she thinks she did the right thing......me keeping out of it at the moment and going to make soup!
Have a lovely day
kittikins did your house sale go through okay?0 -
Snre, snore, snore, snortal, burp. Hey, gets up with yellow thing and its freedom week.
5 Cat has made of leap of fate, jumping from table to window sill in one jump. Normally it would be a crash bang and lick paw.
4 Cocoa Pops, W8Flower version had for breakfast. Ms BoP had her rabbit food. Blackcurrant jam on toast
3 off to the dump later with Ms BoP, got loads of old girlie mags to burn as well. Goooooodness nose what she reads when I was away! Some off the bull is amazing.
2 Went to the chippy for tea last night, Elvis was frying the fish as usual, and that blonde lass, Di was serving the suppers. Always nice after a wobbleade. Seriously though, do you think that you could plan a car crash so destructive it killed most of the occupants! Now, the Lancaster bomber is on the mood made of Blue Cheese.
1 Did you just out and get a new summer frock, just because someone you think had done so, when you could had just worn the one from two years ago. No body would care about the dress, but what love what they see instead!0 -
Morning all
Rubbish signal on campsite means I am struggling to keep up. Bit like my arm being cut offFN is struggling big time with being cut off from her phone
she got very excited when we drove into signal range and about 10 messages flashed onto her phone.
Pleasures for the last few days
1. though it was raining and blowing a hoolie when we arrived and set up, sun soon came out and is set to remain for the whole of our time here. Or at least there should be no rain.
2. lovely walk with a huuuuge group of friends yesterday - including 3 teenagers who didn't moan once :T (well not to us, they were probably chuntering amongst themselves)
3. wifi at the steam railway station. I have downloaded some stuff to alter and edit and can come back here to email it back
4. lovely pain au chocolate from a bakery in the town - thought I was back in France for a bit!
5. I have most of the days to myself - though am entertaining the MiL this morning.
An anticipatory pleasure is that of Honey Ice cream (Frith - you listening!!) countered with a non-pleasure of a meeting this evening between Mil, Sil, Bil and me and OH concerning money, wills, and stuffDeep joy.
I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
*sigh* fingers crossed for Wednesday exchange of contracts mhags x My dad and bro are down there now clearing out the final bits - had a panic with the one and only garage key missing but thankfully the estate agent has brought it down, thus saving my vegetarian bacon!0
