    Evening

ampersand - sorry you have had such a pants time

    Pleasures for today,
    1. As DD had to be in work for 8:30 I was as well but this did mean I could leave at 5. Still managed to get a few jobs done around the house before we left for the office.
    2. Pasta and whatever was left in the fridge soup for dinner. It was very nice as well and enough left for someone to have tomorrow.
    3. Going in the fridge and it being bare. I like this sight on a Friday night as it means that nothing has gone to waste in the week and all ready to be restocked tomorrow.
    4. Managed to walk home from work without getting soaked and the sun came out
    5. Amazing sky at sunset all pinks and purples looked so nice

hugs to all who need them

Had a really good day training - great to feel the buzz of excitement as the penny begins to drop!

Caught all the buses, tubes & trains I needed to - intimidating novelty to this out-of-townee!

Got a freebie sushi & rice lunchbox - not only was it delicious, I plan to convert the freebie disposable wooden chopsticks into hair sticks.

Went out for supper with my sister - ate Lebanese for the first time - Delicious! Lovely laid back natter, too.

Woke early, & so packed up & headed home (albeit in vile weather) driving to my favourite radio shows. (Why is ISIHAC et alia on so *late*?) On arrival, teenager engulfed me in a big hug! (Awww, my baby, now a hulking great coot!)

Cooked up a pile of spiced chicken wraps - in minutes, empty plates & a replete aversion of eyes as to the washing up...

Have found a drink very like KAS Limon (my favourite drink in Spain, twenty years ago) in Sanpellegrino Limonata. Tastes glorious & seriously of lemon, but *so* not MoneySaving I may only drink it on very special occasions...
  • ampersand! I was missing your posts! I wondered if you'd gone on holiday!
PK - Some days are just joyful (I still think its the hormones! or lack thereof!{remember the shrivelled overies:D}) then again some days are hot flushy! Like today..or is it actually warm in here I wonder?!
    1. HM scotch eggs nomnomnom
    2. Finished tidying and cleaning the FULL shelves (after trip to aldilly) Always makes me happy, full neat shelves:D 5 shelves, about 9 feet long, thats alot of food:D I think its because when I was first married and then had DD that we were so very poor, full shelves now make me feel secure. I fondly (?) remember sweet and sour carrots, the cheapest cuts from the butchers, how to make a lb of mince do 3 meals etc. and as first hubby said when we got divorced 'she makes good soup':D
    3. Very nice lady at my little stall for a chat. She lost her hubby to pancreatic cancer, same as my dad, we like the same things . I'd like to ask her for a cuppa but...she has a new land rover. Which means she has money. Which can mean, like one of my old friends that she'll feel sorry for me when she see's where we live. I don't like misplaced pity. You see we live in a portacabin! Well 2 cabins. Someone called it a shantytown:D but I love it as its ours, no rent, no mortgage, with a woodburner for heat, free wood, recycled kitchen, bathroom and toilet. Oh well, maybe I'll just ask her anyway:D my mind is wandering!
    4. Knotty boy the cat sat at the top of the pc table looking down on me, smirking:D
    5. HM hummus for lunch with warm tomatoes from the greenhouse:)
Big love to all in need, especially those with bruises and bumps! x

A busy and dusty day here!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Builders day 3! I now have a kitchen. :-)

    3) Went to mum and dad's for lunch (bacon sandwiches) then bigger son spent some time using my brother's woodworking tools in the shed and smaller son went with my brother to lop off some branches that were squeaking against his car when he drove down the lane.

    4) Lots of trips down the stairs to see how the kitchen was getting on. And we watched Diary of a Wimpy Kid on the laptop in my bed to stop us interfering too many times.

    5) Cheating pasta bake for tea.

    6) Went to our local 1930's cinema to watch Skyfall (they are always about a year behind!)

Sons off to their father's for a week starting tomorrow. :-( Had a lot of Harry Potter reading tonight.

    2. DS picked up his new (to him) car. The smile on his face ! :D

    3. Went out with DS in car with him driving. L plates on... and he is actually a very good driver.... (I can tell when someone is good as I am not constantly putting on the virtual brakes in the passenger seat! )

    4. Read more of my book ...now on page 800 of 880

    5. gammon and eggs for tea.... with chips and beans

Have a good weekend everyone x

Morning all, I really have to be up and at it so some quickies for yesterday

1 felt rough all morning, the pleasure was I needed to sit rather than be doing, so I sorted some techie stuff
2 walked into town with wally (the trolley) and dropped some bags at charity shop, stocked up on shampoos from bum bargains, paid money into big holiday fund
3 managed to get on some jeans that can be touch and go as to whether they fit
4 my new coat arrived, it's a bit hippy, a bit cruella de ville - and very me
5 FN is here :j she made the journey all by herself including crossing London (using my map that started with "get off the train" :p)

Right got to pack for Wales. Laters, kids
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Got to say it, the incy wincy is still here!

Little Miss MuffetSat on a tuffet,
    Eating her curds and whey;
    Along came a spider,
    Who sat down beside her
    And frightened Miss Muffet away

There you go, a bit of culture for you all. Ms Whack. Still not nearer to her iron!

5 Have me five a day already. Two snorkers, Mushrooms, hooped spagYETTI, fried egg. Toast with ruff cut Jam. washed down with tea.

4 On about laughing. If you had a bulldog clip caught in you pocket rocket system, you would do the same. Now where is the mainbrace.

3 Watched another JW film last nite snoggled ups to Ms BoP. Them Injuns, there must had bin undreds of em. Up to no good, was the town clerk. Soon we will see the infamous LVC shoot one from about 70 miles. Ms BoP luvs him, and that ruffian from Cat Ballou

2 gether with Ms BoP all day

1 Do not bring that old grievance up again. The coals should have gone out, but all you do is blow on the embers. Rake the ash out, and damp it down instead.

and & putah. Go grab yoursen an abacus gal!

Very quick 5 as not much charge left on iPad

Stayed dry through day but rainy now.

Went into work for an hour to help get ready for opening....new manager told me she had liked me on our first meeting...knew I was going to be just right for the job......could have told you that weeks ago love :)
Then she told me I have lovely teeth! .....all the better for biting you ...so hurry up and get this place opened!!

Very frugal shop.....very pleased with my careful budgeting this past month...still have some of my wages left...and none coming in next week as they would usually be however by now we've usually dipped into another account!

Went to cinema to see ' We're the Millars' using the last of the cinema vouchers, another film full of swearing which I cringe at every time especially as girls were with us but oh my , it was so funny and we laughed all the way through!

Being inspired reading some of the debt free diaries on other threads.

    Have a lovely day :)

    1) Lie-in this morning - I love weekends. :)

    2) Managed to get up to the shops and back before the rain started.

    3) Athletics then football to watch on TV.

    4) Ate my first HG tomato of the year - it was actually a bit sour, but it's the thought that counts!

    5) Living in a waterproof flat - weather like this always makes me grateful to have moved out of the previous flat, where there would have been rain running down the inside of the walls by now.
Back after a very long break!
