3. An hour to myself reading and drinking coffee whilst DD was at her drama class.
4. A nice chilled glass of wine when DS was in bed
5. An early night with DH

Morning everyone!
Caterina glad your results came back ok and saying a prayer for your cousin.
Hope everyone else is ok and hugs for those who need them. My blessings over the last couple of days.
1) A lovely visit from my DGS whose on half term at the moment. I really enjoy his visits. He's nearly eleven and so thoughtful & caring.
2) We've got our car back from the garage after a week:j So happy to have it back -don't even want to dwell on the massive bill.
3) Managing to collect £103 sponsor money for DS2 whose doing a charity run to raise money for Alzheimers this weekend.
4) Waking up today to about 4" snow. It looked beautiful, so will enjoy the scene while I can because the sun is out now and it will soon be gone.
5) Looking forward to the weekend as having a few days away with DH. So hopefully we'll be having some nice woodland walks with our dogs. We were going last weekend but had to cancel at the last minute because of the car.
Have a great weekend everyone!:)Sealed Pot Challenge 7 Member 022 :staradmin:staradmin:staradmin

Afternoon all... hope you are all well!
I'm back from work early for a change... yay!!
1) Overall I have had a really good day. Went to a PR launch in the morning where I just had to smile prettily for the camera. Plus we were served smoothies, tea and croissants... yummy!
2) From the leaunch headed over to where I was being filmed for a video. It was so hard to not look at the camera and to remember what I was supposed to be saying. Anyway it went as well as could be expected.
3) Stopped in to collect my vacuum cleaner from the shop... they couldn't find anything wrong with it and didn't charge me for the check up. In addition they said that I couldn't possibly spend £25 on a new door for my washing machine and if I brought my old one in they would do me a deal! Such lovely people.
4) Making the right decision on the way home to stop at the services for a wee... because there was a traffic jam a little further on and I am not sure I would have made it!!! Sorry if that was TMI... but I am really grateful!
5) Have loads of food in the fridge so don't need to go shopping this weekend.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Evening all.
Quick one from me tonight as I'm tired, headachy and rather irritable - I've already had to apologise to a customer services person for snapping at her (I'm convinced the shop's policy is wrong but biting her head off isn't going to help).
My five:
1) Woke up before my alarm again this morning, and with no odd dreams about chicken stock. :rotfl:
2) Managed to track down the other half of my favourite pair of socks - no-one could see them under my trousers and shoes, but I knew I had multicoloured spots on my feet.
3) There were so many sparrows in my garden this morning I couldn't count them, but I had fun trying.
4) Treated myself to a ploughman's-style sausage roll for lunch, and had a sudden brainwave as to how I could make my own. Experiment time, I think!
5) Found a bottle of one of my favourite wines reduced to 1/2 price: I bought one bottle and might get a couple more next week if they're still on offer - it's always good to have some in stock.
Have a nice evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all!
Not much of a pleasurable day today but I'll try....
1. I'm at my parents with my beautiful DDLots of gentle cuddles and kisses and she's drawn me lots of cards and pictures
2. I've got a trapped nerve or something horrible in my back so have been in screaming out loud pain most of the day. Thankfully my DM has the same type of painkiller as me so I'm able to control it, as foolishly I had thought that standard painkillers would sort out the pain I've been having all week
3. As I'm at my parents, I was able to have a lie-down this afternoon and DM looked after DD as she has been all week
4. More bad news, I'm off the diet as I can't do painkillers and this particular diet, but am having yummy home cooked food and trying not to have too much of it!
5. I'm going to be getting a new sewing machine from a lovely freecycler on Sunday, yippee!!
Ollie - hope the funeral is a good celebration of the lady's life, sending hugs your way as even when they're more celebratory, it's still terribly sad to say goodbye to anyone
Caterina - belated congratulations on having a clear scan, and I'm sending reiki to your cousin xx
Bella - hope your aunt is on the mend and you have a lovely visit with her.
Sparrer - wow, 9 NSD's!!! I've had about 2 this month, so I'm in awe. Actually today has been my 9th of the year, phew! Probably better than in previous years, I'm making a real effort this year, lol.0 -
Evening all,
Lets see if I can make it 5 for today.
1. Yesterdays snow has nearly all thawed so I'm not housebound, if I fall over it would probably be a hospital job (again),
2. Managed to get to Aldi they had 2 of the fruit trees we wanted for £3.99 each pitty they didn't have any plums or pears as in their advertising, but hey ho two is better than none!
3. Made a big pot of mediteranian style beef stew for tea and DD said it wasn't half bad ( a grand compliment from her). It fed three for tea and there are 3 x meals for 2 cooling down for the freezer.
4.got some nice wholemeal bread and some cheese topped rolls in Aldi - reduced to half price.
5. the top two shelves of our upright freezer are looking good and almost full of hm ready meals.
6. A nice quiet night in on my own OH & DD going out DS doing his own thing elsewhere, I feel a crochet, master chef and glass of wine night coming on.

sparrer, step-dad has mentioned poltergeists and burglars before, and he's a hoarder, though mum is one too. I haven't heard about mum today, texting sister tonight:
Mine for today:
1) tea and porridge in bed
2) easy drive into work this morning as it's half term
3) manic but enjoyable day at work
4) receiving a £10.67 dividend cheque for some employee shares I still have from back in the day
5) receiving a letter from Northern Rock offering £4380.27 in full and final settlement of PPI mis-selling claim, totally out of the blue! Enough to almost clear the remaining loan just £180 remaining to pay, just the credit cards left to clear now :T"We have to be kind because everyone is fighting a great, great battle" - Sir Richard Attenborough
"There is a special place in hell for women who don't help other women" - Madeleine Albright0 -
Evening all :j
Ollie yes news has travelled far a wide to the feathered friends about the breakfast and dinner menus. Luckily they are very patient at the weekends and let me have a lay in. I also have Bert and Squirt the squirrels and Phil the pheasant with his girlfriends. I have quite the wild menagerie :rotfl:
My latest ones:
1) No spend day!
2) No snow here
3) Getting a cheque paid into the bank and 4 pillows recycled before work
4) Having a relaxing evening
5) Seeing the wild menagerie for breakfast and dinner
6) Coming home from work and it's still light
7) Dentists - they removed a splinter of bone from where I had my wisdom tooth out a month ago.....and didn't charge me....probably came from something I ate
8) Large glass of wine
Hope you all had a good day and everyone is staying dry and warm in doors tonightAs my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -
I'm going to find 5 for today!
1) Another day of half term! A lie in (of sorts), no school run, fairly calm day.
2) Sons helped me sort ALL their toy boxes out. All the broken toys went in the bin and another bag is ready to go to the charity shops. I washed all the toy box lids (they're those corrugated plastic ones and really catch the dust).
3) Took the opportunity to do their whole bedroom while they sorted the boxes out in my room. Cleaned all the woodwork down, took their lampshade down and washed it, hoovered, de-cobwebbed etc. Oh, and changed the beds. Their room is the only one I have ever finished decorating so it actually has a colour scheme, varnished floorboards, skirting boards etc so when its neat and tidy, it looks really nice - I keep going in to have a look at our hard work!
4) Went to Frankie and Benny's for tea. Its an extravagance but it was to be smaller son's half term treat the other day but we had to head home early due to the snow. The children's menu is £3.95 and you get a free drink and pudding for that. And I got £5 off for applying online for a voucher. :-)
5) Sister came round 8pm and talked about a self help type book she is reading and talked about counselling generally. My assessment for my counselling course is next Wednesday and she talked about "challenging" clients and I trotted out, "Oh yes, a challenge is a GIFT, not a stick" - so I have actually learned something!
Next week is going to be a bit rubbish really. Grandma's funeral on Monday (hope it doesn't snow any more), court on Tuesday to see if the judge will agree to getting the ex's contact with the boys supervised then college assessment on Wednesday. Bizarrely, on Monday evening, I'm going to a PTA quiz!
Hope everyone is OK, haven't done my 5 for a few days.
