Love n hugs to all, sweet dreams0 -
Morning
Pleasures for yesterday,
1. Hearing how happy my DM sounded when I told her DD was coming to see them for just over a week. Also managed to get train tickets at a reasonable price.
2. Went to see the nurse in the asthma clinic. She confirmed what I knew in that breathing is not quite right due to weather, weight and not enough exercise so need to get back out walking and stick to some healthy eating. I hate taking medication but she said once I was back under control I could reduce the dose I was taking as I knew what suited me best, nice sensible lady who didn't preach to me.
3. As home a bit earlier than normal had a little snooze
4. Yummy herb pancakes with savoury mince filling for dinner.
5. Helped OH complete an online application form. Read this as completed an online application form for OH as to every question he said don't know, frustrated me never
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Oh Frith bad luck
Mind you they say it comes in 3's
1. Bra busting !!
2. wrong petrol in the garage's car
3. heavy rain washed soot down across the living room floor.
Some good luck now due and well deserved !!

Dundee..... Singapore how exciting !!! Hope you still enjoy Berlin (((HUGS))) x
Kittikins .... that's a blow re agencies, hope something better will come along soon x
Lots of you booking holidays... CCP ...being mysterious? ...where are you going ?
Sparrer look forward to reading your pleasures !
Pleasures
1. managed to get grass stain out of DS favourite Tshirt. OS style - combination of different things... tried bicarb paste, then salt, then sugar .... then finally whitening toothpaste!
2. Swimming. I had physio Monday and was in agony all afternoon... made a decision to exercise more... as per physio's instructions. Bought a pilates ball from argus under a fiver, and have started swimming. Have been twice now using my discount card which runs out end of august.
3. Lovely lady helping me at the pool. They still use the old fashioned metal hooked baskets. I had a sciatica spasm as I got out the pooland a lovely old lady (70's) carried it to the changing rooms for me
4. had my hair done. Not OS but feel so much better. Had it all chopped off and highlights& chocolate slices (not the cake variety) put through. Looks very shiny and healthy rather than the badger rug sat on my head before
5. :rotfl:reading NUNs posts!! Thanks lfs
6. met up with friend going through a hard time with separation from her OH and we went shopping for some retail therapy. Splashed out in £land and got some memory foam insoles for my favourite shoes. Much comfier now !
7. another friend popped round last night and as it had stopped raining we went for a walk round the local pond
8. back is still painful but not as bad or as stiff as it was... I am going to swim every weekday this week, week off next week when my sister is here, and then swim every day the following week...
9. mended my bra even with my basic sewing skills! The wire had popped out... not as dramatic as Friths bosom busting bra snapping
10. am enjoying the cooler weather... its meant to be 30 tomorrow so I will spend the day washing (yes I know I'm on holiday but all the bedding needs doing and beds made up for sis and nephew (7 yo) coming next week

Someone on here wrote a sure fire way to get rid of a cold, but I can't remember what it was any ideas welcome as I have a doozy trying to take hold.:(
Worked from home and had tonnes to do so started at 8, the pleasure being 3 hours extra in the day from no commute! Washed all the towels, and got our washing up to date.
A lovely bacon sarnie for lunch Received a call about an lovely job, I am just about jumping up and down I really would like it, my CV is with them now just waiting for feedback, walks away whistling, it is a tiny bit less money wise but it does sound very interesting.:o:D
Got a bit distracted by the garden flowers/bees/butterflies and animals and well having an ice cream this afternoon.0 -
Good evening all !
Skintos the chocolate mermaid - perky post;). I know sooooo many more pleasures when not at work.

5 for today
1. Not a pleasure for him. OH shouting at 6am at the "effing" new neighbours cat that had got in to the shed that he keeps his diving stuff in and crapped on the floor and he trod in it.
2. Nice FB chat with my neice who now has lovely dyed light pink hair cut in an elfin style. Suits her.
3.Courgettes from the garden for tea and vegetarian moroccan kievs rtc . Nice
4. Took terrier out.
5. Ork the bald jackdaw waiting on the roof and flew down into the garden when I parked on the driveway.Boy he is ugly but I like him. Not nice- the hens had a frog ( ooh la la -fancy it with some garlic VJsmum???). Doing the Benny Hill run with it around the garden.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
PK - sorry to hear you're feeling miserably coldy. The only thing I know of that has been proved to help treat colds is zinc - pure zinc tablets aren't easy to get hold of, though, as I've tried in the past. Fingers crossed for the job!
Skint - no, I'm not being mysterious, just absent-minded - I didn't realise I hadn't said where I'm going! It's Devon - the hotel's in Exeter and I'm planning on having a mooch around to some of the places we used to go when I was a kid, including (hopefully) a ride on the Seaton tram.
sparrer - so glad to hear you had a great time.
1) Toast and ginger curd for breakfast.
2) A meeting with my new head of department that I had been quietly dreading went very well, and she praised my efficiency in updating an old policy in time for our first meeting.I then had to admit that I had been meaning to do so for several months, however, and had only just got round to it! (And when I say several months, I mean the best part of a year.
)
3) Reverbed 5p.
4) Got some bargain fishcakes from W8r0se: I picked up a RTC pack and only found when I checked my receipt that they'd knocked off some of the cost because they were in multibuy offer as well. :money:
5) Some night-scented stock seeds I planted over the weekend have germinated already.
Right, dinner time - something with lots of chilli is calling as I'm feeling decidedly... erm... chilly?Back after a very long break!0 -
Need to revisit my geography. Turns out singapore is north (just) of the equator.
1) managed to get both abstracts drafted, off to coauthors, back and submitted yay
2) lovely meeting with lovely dental lecturer and his phd student. He bought me a !!!!!!!!!!! slice of lemon cake and tea and we had a really good chat (including him talking about his civil partnership last year so nomchance of romance there for dundeedoll lol)
3) lunch with best friend - i had ham salad with no carb. Well after that slice of cake...
4) did my fire extinguisher training. Very exciting and defo one of my 50
5) xoh came picked me up from work at 7:15 and had made me supper which i have just finished. As a best friend she's very nice.
Off to berlin tomoz. Very excited, but dont have a smart phone so may not make it online in which case have a fab week one and all. DundeeDoll will be back next Friday xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1. Rain held off, so DD and I went out to play
2. We visited a fabulous animal/play/bird place I've been going to since I was about 2, well worth the lots of pennies it cost, for nostalgic and fun reasons
3. Applied for more jobs - so annoying as I only need to work for a few weeks, not like the good old days where you'd walk into an agency and walk out with a job! But, good practice etc etc.....at least there are some jobs for me to apply for.
4. We took a picnic to the animal park so only had (yup, HAD) to buy icecreams!
5. Despite the icecream, think I've had quite a healthy eating day - not least because the S0lero advertised itself as only 94 calories!
6. I've arranged that we'll go back home on Friday for the weekend - I still have so much to do at our house and won't be under any pressure to find a job there.......
7. DD was feeling unwell at the end of our day out, so I called and was very pleased to be able to get a doctor's appointment for later in the afternoon - thankfully there's nothing wrong, probably just a bit tired.....and I ticked something off my to-do list, as I registered us with the doctor's surgery.
8. DD is now happily tucked up in bed and I've read her a story0
