4. Tucked in to some cheese straws I made yesterday.

Well done bop - the beagle disbanded. Did you cope with isihac just now?
On top of which, &'s now somewhat reeling from The Aaarghh!chers....
Nick Cave!!! Frith and sons of Frith, you too? Thought I was alone in my wotever for him.
mhags - and your counter of choice for Monopoly is? Just keep enjoying those days. Glad you've spoken to school and will do more if necessary. It's likely they'll seek out another scapegoat unless they're stopped. Hopefully new school will mean dd doesn't cross paths with this lot next term.
1. Will pick 1st courgette, ditto broad beans demain, h-g peas ce soir. Tomatoes fattening fast, no sign of red. More black currants showing up from nowhere - into freezer now. Triffid beans. Sweet peas ripping up through front fence. How I love the deep, dark blackish crimson ones and there are a fair few, matching the rescued w8rs scabious that I plonked in only a fortnight ago. Had no idea of the colours of either. Scent divine.
2. Good visit last Friday. Kindness took place.
3. Still no keys, despite cross-country hack to fenboys today. Boot properly jammed. I'd lugged everything awkwardly through/over front seat outside, stacked it in new trailer, all tarped[thank goodness!], dismantled tailgate from inside, but still no joy. 2[additional]new Fenboys worked for an hour, trying to get to buttocks of problem. One has stunningly beautiful rippling and tanned arms and hands - told him a life-drawing class would die for him. He was absolutely not embarrassed.
4. En route, stopped off at auction house. V. pleased there'll be a decent amount heading &'s way in a fortnight.
5. Huge thunderstorm out of a bright blue sky...was in company of wild men who shared my love of Big Weather.
6. To celebrate Still Not Finding keys, bought 3 lacey things from TKMaxx. Haven't been in for aeons.
7. Even better, to make one pair only 99p, she stooped to conquer 1p reverbe on the path at door:D First one for yonks.
8. At library, a new Louise Penny book leapt out at me....c'est bien, more Armand Gamache:).
9. Use up nanas, sad carrots, weary milk all used up yesterday : 2 banana and carrot cakes[Mary B], banana+sultana pikelet invention[worked really well, scrummy!], 2 loaves super seedy bread - all in freezer now.
10. Top of the Lake is definitely not nice, but I am drawn in.
11. Hoping to find a way of attending a Spooky Men's Chorale concert.

All part of the glorious vocal family that includes Les Voix Bulgares, barbershop, plainsong anything, etc.etc.....with isihac-vein humour.
For you mcculloch?
12. Another visit from nextdoor's girls. They have the hang of flying over now and enjoy my blundering excuse for garden.
I'm joining vjm vicariously.

1. Monday is finished, absolutely shattered from the weekend.:o
2. Bangers and mash for tea.:)
3. Nanny Mcphee on in the background.
4. Filling up the feeders and enjoying the garden
5. Lazing about.
Sure there are loads more just feeling a bit to tired tonight.0 -
Definitely Nick Cave, Ampersand. Can't say sons know him well (lyrics can be a bit off) but have liked him for 20 years.
A trying day today... pleasures and catastrophes to follow...
1) A good sleep.
2) Took my car for its MOT and borrowed the garage's car. It passed! Car is ancient, could barely believe it.
3) Went to see my friend the other side of Birmingham. She was very preoccupied (recently split up with her partner) and then he came round to babysit for her and do some jobs. Is it just me who finds exes reappearing and being treated like old friends really odd?? Surely it is quite unsettling when you are supposed to be split up to be putting the kettle on for them?
4) Tasty baked potatoes and hummus for tea.
5) Lots of texts from friends and smaller son today.
6) Watching Mary Beard now and struggling to remember some of A level Classical Civilisation!
Catastrophes:
Put some petrol in the garage's car as I used a lot up going to see my friend. Pity it is a diesel car. Had to be towed home by them. :-( so I shall be paying for that!
Got home and the heavy rain had come in through the top of my chimney and washed soot down across the living room floor. Again.0 -
Ok I have to share this...we go to 1940's weekends and dress up..very nice dresses, and hats for me, smart OH and normally my DS wears a suit and a bowler..super smart! Todays best pleasure is..
1. My son(17) dressed as a NUN ready for the 1940's day out. Oh my, little round glasses and the hat..its all the funnier as I went to a convent!! I nearly wet myself laughing when he pulled his trousers up to his knees, pulled on his workboots and said hello! AND I have a full outfit for my best (male) friend so DS doesn't feel so alone. AND they both have outrageous chin hair:D parachuting nun anyone??
2. Ok its still the nun
3. Beef brisket for tea (and nuns)
4. Cut a cabbage (I really liked the nuns at school)
5. remembering wanting to be a nun as a girl, [STRIKE]then finding boys[/STRIKE]:D

Mmmm, hairy men in women's clothing, that takes me back.....lol!
1. Went out temp job hunting, and didn't get lost finding the agencies thank goodness!
2. Agency 1 hyperventilated with excitement at how 'fabulous' I am......errr, okay.......but then offered me an assignment at a too low rate!
3. Agency 2 was more measured in its excitement, until they called early evening to say I've got a telephone interview tomorrow morning for a fabulous sounding temp job that would take me up to uni. Hmmm....I'd like this one, very interesting type of company, and just the kind of job I can do and enjoy being busy at.
4. Lovely cuddles with DD
5. DD and my dad made up a new wardrobe kind of thing in her bedroom; she was so excited to show me when I got back and I'm looking forward to unpacking some of her stuff into it tomorrow whilst she's out!!
6. Yummy baked potato and salad for dinner - and all I had to do was set and clear away the table, easy as pie
7. Enjoyed the Caligula programme as well.0
