Skint I hope you have a fantastic last day at work.:beer:
An early few already as
1. We are heading to a little local – ish steam fair it’s only in its 2nd year:D.
2. I pre-cooked breakfast so could have an extra half hour layin, but up very late ops:o
3. No work, no work, no work, ohhh did I mention No work.:p
There will be more I’m sure.
Back on Sunday if the forums back up.;)0 -
More uncannies -
WHERE ARE MY KEYS?
1. Long old haul@Spits hier for only just £s. The Too Nice Weather reason has hit the last few weeks, according to old hands. Up@0230h, on path unloaded by 0615. managed to read Thread on phone&even wrote Happy Birthday msg to sparrer using it. It seemed to send, but i don't see it it here now.
2. Separate Happy Birthday - and I'm darned sure it not only was, but is still being so all through the long luxe-y weekend - enjoy indeed, sparrer.
3. Last minute no haggle sale helped - a lot - and for nextdoor seller too. She bought jewellery from me. He bought vintage bike from J.
4. Long packing up, as always, locking car in between the running in and out with loaded trolley. Back out with penulitmate run, KEYS??? WHERE??? [You're with me, aren't you Frith?] Why not clipped on money purse? AH yes, because it caught in a box I was unloading, so I'd detached them, laid them - I THINK - in boot gutter. And - I THINK - have shut boot on them. So much of this is heavy, no spare hand, balancing on hip etc.etc. It's not easy trying to manoeuvre everything in and out through door openings, but that's what has to happen for the next hour and a half, punctuated by my bringing everything out from inside, all onto London summer evening TOTALLY crowded Arty Pharty Bright Young Things Night Out spillover Watering Hole footpaths...much comment, not helpful, in any sense...finally manage to get at door panel from inside car. Can't find any other way to spring boot. I'd noticed a fortnight ago, that the internal boot release clip wasn't working from the dash, but I mostly use key to unlock it anyway, that being a new-fangled extra to me, never had such before. It must be possible, but for now even that pales into wondering what on Earth I'm going to do. How Will I drive back? On house keys is another 'doesn't work' extra. I've never used it before. DV ignition fires. I head away. Minimal takings feels as nothing besides relief of driving. Back here after 0100. Didn't really wake till nearly 6. v.late for me. Rang Fenboys - will have to empty car again somehow, take panel off - should then be able to open boot. Of course, that's no guarantee keys ARE trapped in gutter...on verra. Hope you've found yours by the time this dreary recounting hits Thread, Frith. Not only that. but can't lock car with this spare, as it doesn't unlock anything. Thank goodness that in extreme tiredness, I thought to open driver's window in order to be able to unlock car, if extra key didn't...
5. This affects other appts, timings...appropriate calls made, but I need to crack on, as visit to l-h this arvo is an absolute fixed.
6. Haven't even ventured into kitchen yet,or shower - looking forward to both, but must hurry a bit.
7. Nice call from Irish E, so likeable, from slightlly local auction house. All lots sold but for one thing I'd started preferring for Spits...it can have a try now. Don't know how much is to come, but in view of yesterday. it will be welcome. I half-asked, but he gave a [kindly]little teasing reply, that it can be a surprise for Monday. I will take more over, before lumbering my new storage with things I can no longer deal with. That starts after end of month, which:eek:is next Thursday. I am trying not to feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of this...solo is hard for these things, esp. emptying loft.
8. I like Justin Welby, was thinking so last night, before hearing update this morning...selective inaccuracy bop. Stir your custard instead:D.
9. News that someone's son-in-law MAY not be deported. A £1600 appeal to Home Office. This young man was abandoned over 20 years ago, has worked always, turning nothing down. Now, there's a good, strong family life, blameless, way paid etc.etc. - whatever pc words tabloids rule current government by, he fulfils. bop - your ire would be more usefully directed at lynton crosby, another murdoch-creep, flexi-moral shape-shifter.
10. Call with x, a decision made which is good.
&'s def. in light-hearted summer joy land atm:p...off to sluice away the drears of y'day. Frith I'll send you your keys, while probably not finding mine. Then what? Car needs to be be locked where I am this arvo.
Oh well.........

bop - &. Linked sorted. Listening. Still no get the Mornington Crescent[/I]...exactly means that you DID 'get' it. Do you need a Colonial to explain Albion humour to you?
I know a fair bit about Food Banks.... suggest peeps spurn those set up by SOME supermarkets, who entreat donations from hard-pressed shoppers, without looking in the mirror. w8rs support us AND SOS bus wholeheartedly, no strings, real generosity - which does, of course, create real goodwill, word of mouth publicity of enduring kind.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Keys just found. Boys next door (not MrN's, the 3 and 5 year old on the other side) had shinned over my fence, taken the keys from the door and buried them in their garden.
Told their mother I had been looking since last night, told her we had missed our day out in Brum. The boys themselves said they had stolen them from the door. She looked totally unconcerned.
Hope you find your keys NOW, Ampersand.
ETA - pleasures for today as I see the forums will be down...
1) A lie in!
2) Keys found.
3) Lovely post! a letter confirming my place on an archaeological dig in September, smaller son's statement of SEN with the new school name typed in (hoorah!) and Good Housekeeping magazine.
4) Funny text from MrN about the keys...
5) About to make the lunch we were supposed to eat in Brum. Duck and hoisin wraps (duck was roasted last night). Going to take it on a picnic so sons can go scootering.
6) Cinema at 2.40pm.
7) News Quiz later.
Boys away for a week from 10 tomorrow and I have a massive list of things to do while they're away!0 -
On my way out Frith - but stopping to say Thank Goodness for you, except not exactly, considering circs. Razor wire? Since she seems incapable of imparting a parenting template, might not a uniformed word at this stage supply this?
I'm about to use ignition only key, leave car unlocked...cctv is tightly monitored, searched, tracked, checked. Fingers crossed nonetheless.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

I am tempted to give their dad a ring, Ampersand. She seems to think it OK to give them free rein to climb over the fence and help themselves to whatever they want. The other day they told me that when we are out, they come round and use the go kart in their garden!
The dad left about 3 months ago. Bigger of the 2 boys has a dog bite on his leg too.0 -
Early post -
1. A good time laughing this morning, with new found friends.
2. Picking the first runner beans.
3. I noticed a faint blush of red on a green tomato!
4. Hearing children playing outside.
5. Two loads of washing dried in the sun.0 -
Afternoon all.
Thought I'd better get my pleasures in early, before those rotten spoilsports at MSE take our forum away. (In the unlikely event anyone from MSE is reading, I'm only joking!)
Frith - glad you found your keys, and I hope you can get something sorted out to stop the kids coming into your garden and taking things.
ampersand - hope yours turn up soon, too.
VJsmum - hope you have a lovely time after all that hassle.
1) There was meant to be an office lunch today but the new head of department's dislike of proceedings seemed to infect everyone so most people just left the office early instead.I popped up to the bank and, on the way back, met up with a small group of colleagues who had decided to go to the pub for lunch, so I joined them.
2) Took advantage of a two meals for £7 offer, and I was drinking lime and soda as I was driving, so it was a fairly cheap lunch, too. :money:
3) Paid in the cheque L&kel&nd sent refunding me for a dodgy product (an eco-friendly cleaning product that is eco-friendly because it doesn't actually do anything, apparently!).
4) Did some shopping and paid for it with my c0-0p divi vouchers, so it didn't cost me a penny. :money:
5) Home in time to watch more IPC athletics.
6) Making the most of the yellow thing, as it's forecast to vanish tomorrow.
Have a great weekend, all - I'll see you after the break...Back after a very long break!0 -
Good afternoon all !
Frith- so glad to hear that your keys have been found. Has she got a landlord , if so I would be writing down incidents , dates and times . Others may be doing the same.
5 for yesterday
1. Took the terrier out early . Wierd people about that early. Bloke dressed like a Scoutmaster kept walking round and round the large pond with a dogs metal choke chain in his hand. No dog. No lost dog..... These things worry me especially in the school holidays....
2.Two lot of washing done and on line before 9am
3. Bread from breadmaker set to finish as I was getting up.
4. Went out with my cousin to see an ex colleague who has a new puppy. She lives in a house in a converted hospital. Looks like an Alms House overlooking a wood . Lovely, nice neighbours and quite genteel .It was lovely too see her and the pup.
5. Completely exhausted after the above visit . Fell asleep for most of the evening . Thankfully woke up in time to lock the hens in !!
Have a lovely day all. Supposed to be raining here. It's not , it's hot and I am cooking a roast later .:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. My P45 has arrived already! Jolly good show as I need it for my agency appointments on Monday
2. Had a great night over at my lovely chums last night, too much wine (ouch!), yummy food, lots of laughs, singing and dancing
3. Watching a DVD with DD and a little chum - too hot and tired to do anything else...
4. Took out some great library books.
5. Saw lots of lovely chums whilst out and about.
6. We had a fab picnic in the park yesterday.
7. Sunshine....and 3 minutes of rain!0 -
Evening all.
That was a short break, wasn't it?
Kittikins - no sign of the promised downpours here, either. It's a shame, really, as the garden could do with some rain. ETA - I spoke too soon - it's raining quite steadily now!
1) Long lie-in this morning.
2) HM seed bread and gravadlax for brunch.
3) Received my new green waste bin. You have to pay for it but, at £30 a year, it's a better alternative than trekking up to the tip on a regular basis.
4) Gave my cotton lavender a much-needed haircut, now I've got somewhere to put the branches.
5) Received some free samples of moisturiser I ordered online. :money:
Have a nice evening, everyone - I must go and make a veggie lasagne for dinner. :drool:Back after a very long break!0
