    1. After a carp night's sleep, had a lovely hour on the sofa this morning and am back in bed again now, but up at parents/new home.

    2. Managed to fill the car with 'essentials' on our semi-move to our new pad (as t'were). We'll go back down to get more stuff soon, but interviews and life up here beckon for a bit.

    3. Listening to DD sing whilst she reads in bed, little sweetie :)

    4. Ordered 2 pairs of shoes in a sale online, hope they'll fit!

    5. Found a 'new' CD to listen to in the car on the way up, thank goodness! I feel I know every second of every other CD in the car!!

Best of luck with moving, Kittikins.

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) A good sleep!

    2) House reasonably tidy.

    3) Walked to my sister's house. It's miles! Took about 1.5 hours. Had the ipod on - have never used it with headphones before as smaller son takes it to school with him for his long journeys. It kept shuffling between Nick Cave and the Pet Shop Boys as I crossed the cornfields then when I was dropping down into the valley it chose a run of Led Zeppelin, which was rather nice.

    4) Sunday scone at my sister's.

    5) School friend came for tea and hasn't long gone.

    6) Lots of texts from smaller son.

    7) Had to laugh just now as I leaned over to shut the curtains and the centre tough front bit of my bra snapped! No repairing that!

Well as I sit eating my own body weight in freshly baked banana bread and cookies I shall endeavour to post my weekend pleasures:)

Saturday scone was a common or garden sultana one:)
Sat in front of the log fire whilst eating said scone and perused the papers and supplements.
Groceries all done at Aldi and cheaper than usual. We used to do Aldi and top up at woollies as we couldn't get it all at aldi, however could get it all at Woolies.....with careful shopping and buying on special it wasn't too much more but Aldi still cheaper.....anyway, I'd done my cupboard and freezer inventory so knew what was needed and bought it all in Aldi.

DD1 was invited as a last minute guest ( due to someone else pulling out) to a debutante ball! So we dashed to op shop and bought a lovely royal blue satiny dress with diamant! around the waistband. Then shoes the exact colour bought in sale and jewellery the exact colour bought in sale.

The debs wear virginal white and are presented to their audience , dinner and dancing follows. The boys wear tuxedos. This is a very common thing over here and usually takes place in year11.

She stayed overnight at her friends and came home with a beautiful bouquet of red and cream roses discarded by the debs! Apparently they all left them on the tables so DD and pal gathered up 6 to take home:) ...that's my girl:)

The following is sad but true.......I bought a new iron with my leaving work vouchers! This is iron number 3 since we moved here almost 3 years ago....it cost more than I would have spent cash on but is heavier than the cheapy ones I've bought before. It irons beautifully....told you it was sad :(

Then I also got 2 dinner plates and a teapot in the collection I have been buying when on special offer and I am completely finished now:)
I only spent half my vouchers so will keep that for another day!

I had a Sunday snooze....think it was probably more of a Sunday food coma

    A nice weekend :)

kittikins I hope your move and all your farewells go well. Onwards and upwards I always say!
dundeedoll hope you're okay? tealady hope you had a good holiday!

I shall be back later with my monday pleasures which include eating my body weight in home baking!

    Bonjour.

Chicken - that's the aim. God help us all if she doesn't get in to drama school, she will have no outlet  terrier is a tart :p
CCP - yep, she always has been. Even the day she was born was dramatic. When she was two, she strolled onto a beach in Spain and announced "hello boys, I'm here!!" :rotfl: HM bread and smoked salmon sounds lush

    Five for yesterday

1 the croissants were a disappointment, too lardy, but the baguette was perfect!
2 OH and I took a walk to the next town to go to the supermarket. Love a foreign supermarket, and it didn't disappoint. Also, THERE WAS AN OUTDOOR LAUNDRETTE. ALMOST LIKE A DRIVE THROUGH. How cool is that? Simple things please simple minds
3 we found some biscuits called "fannys" which has pleased our childish hearts. " would you like a fanny?" " my fanny's rather sweet" and so on :rotfl: obviously this also had to go on Facebook.
4 we took another walk to the nearest town, through the forest, and visited an outdoor pool there. It ws lovely. Even DD came, which is a miracle
5 roast lamb for dinner, or rather braised in red wine. The nicest r. Lamb ever, I think

    And one already for today

I killed a fly with my bare hands :T:D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hi, I've not posted on here for a while because it's taken a while to de-holidayfy. But trying to get back in to the OS swing of things, here are yesterday's:

1 - Infamous 'pudding for tea' - we had Eton Mess - homegrown strawbs, discounted meringue nests and lots of creme fraiche
2 - having a relaxing day knitting part of the blanket for the baby. Only ten weeks to go
3 - discovering courgettes growing in the garden (They'd suffered badly in the heat while we were away and have taken some considerable coaxing back to life)
4 - giggling watching a silly film with the OH

    Hope you are all well

I am back with Mondays pleasures:
( ooh vjsmum wishing I was in France !)

Early morning wake up ....no one has told my body clock I'm in between jobs.
Made cranberry, chocolate and coconut cookies and 2 banana breads.
    Made pasta for girls lunches.
Made myself do a room, do a nice thing , do a room .....
Ticked 3 things off this weeks list.
Lots of washing , it was the most beautiful spring like day, sunny with a breeze so if it was washable it was washed! All the winter throws smell nice and fresh. Used my new iron !
    Posted a letter.
Munched on cookies and banana bread.
Had a tiny little Monday snooze in the afternoon.
Had a chat on phone to DD2 school regarding her problems. Was going to go in and might still have to but feel I said what needed to be said.
Was lovely when my children came in from school.

Making soft tacos for dinner with rtc chicken.

    Have a lovely Monday :)

Been MIA for a few weeks, first with holiday and then just life keeping me busy. So with that here are some random pleasures from the last few weeks.

    1. Very relaxing holiday with lots of time spent lazing by the pool reading a book. The main resort wasn't really our thing (think Blackpool with sunshine) so we stayed in the little village we were in and just chilled. Also ate and drank a little bit (very nice chilled white port to finish the day is recommended).
    2. Took DD to a concert at the Olympic Park aimed at encouraging people to volunteer. Had a fab day in the sunshine listening to music and having fun. Were very OS in our way of keeping cool as took a couple of face cloths with us that we just kept wet and placed on back of neck and forehead when too hot, worked a dream. Tickets were very cheap and used some rail credit to buy train tickets that I had applied for ages ago thanks to this site so the day cost less than £20 for the 2 of us.
    3. DD getting a temp job at the Office where I work. It is just to cover holiday and sickness but has already done a few hours so will have some money at the end of the month. Nice to see her growing in confidence in talking to people she doesn't know and to see her realising that she can do things she thought she wouldn't be able to do. She is getting some great feedback which is nice.
4.Lunch today with my lovely friend and her beautiful baby girl. So nice to see her looking so happy and relaxed.
    5. Getting back into OS living after holidays.
    6. Looking forward to trying to get away to France for a couple of days before DD goes back to college. We have quite a few Euros left from Holiday so that will help with the cost.

Hugs to all who need them.
Mhagster - thank you for thinking about me, hope you get things sorted at schoool for DD

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Tealady and FrooGal - it's good to see you back. :)

LFS - ooh, a HG tomato - you lucky thing! My plants are all outside so they're not even close to ripening yet. :(

I've had a bit of a spendy day today, but it's all been done very MSEly:

    1) Poached egg on toast for breakfast.

    2) Bought a new pair of shoes at half-price in a sale - I really need them, too, as the pair they're replacing are almost worn through.

    3) Stocked up on cheese thanks to a "buy one get two free offer" at the C0-0p, and paid using some more divi vouchers so it didn't actually cost me anything.

    4) Booked myself a holiday for September. :D It's a real treat as it's a 4 star hotel, but I get 40% off, £40 worth of loyalty points, a free room upgrade, and 8.5% cashback as well. :money:

    5) Planning a lazy evening reading my way through the first in one of my favourite series of books as the new one has just come out, and I'll buy it as soon as I have my next voucher from doing surveys. :money:

    Have a good evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!
