Thanks mhags yes i'm fine on the whole. Emotions till all over the shop, and finding sleeping on my own after 28 years difficult. I fall asleep after midnight, wake at 4 and again at 6. I'm shattered! But some of life is very good indeed (though not sadly work at the mo). So 5 good things
1) have lost 13.5 pounds since april. Slowl and surely. Bmi now 25.2
2) took the dogs for a walk. They are so funny (2 three month old cocker spaniels) and we get lots of people coming up - very different experience to walking an alpha female black alsatian!
3) played the piano for a whole hour last night. Beethoven, smetna, mendlessohn, bach and satie. Bliss
4) i then listened to lots of music on iplayer - lou reed, new order, eva cassidy and bowie
5) cleaned the kitchen. I like cleaning kitchens and bathroomsi hate all other types of housework
2 more days of work then off to berlin with xoh and 2 polish friends for a week. Will be sharing a double bed with xoh as already booked. We will see how it goes.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Nice to see you posting again DD, sometimes it feels like you have nothing to say but I think it helps to look around for some pleasures!
Well another day 'in between jobs' , woke up early but stayed in bed until 7am. Pottered about until girls went out to school....had a HM rhubarb and ginger jam sandwich ....toaster in bin after setting itself on fire last week!
After consulting my to do list....I had to make an appointment with a medical specialist , tried phoning and it just rang out so thought...' Right mhagster, get your trainers on and walk to medical centre....20 minute uphill all the way....ooooh , we can fit you in at 12md.....great! ...20 minute walk downhill all the way....then an hour later ....20 minute walk uphill then 20 minute walk downhill! Earphones in and listened to Biffy Clyro, Beatles and Dire Straits
I have been advised to make some dietary changes and to try no-carbing! Yikes.....so I had a carb fest this afternoon! Will start tomorrow.
So no more Saturday scones, no more pasta , no more parsnips, baked potatoes , no more fruit.....however I can eat sprouts! I like sprouts!
In between walking sessions , I swept the driveway and I did a bit of weeding. It was a pleasant day in the sun, only 14o. Mr blackbird was singing away and all very springlike.
I saw magnolia in bloom, lots of different narcissi , rhododendrons, asters, camellias , days continue to stretch out and spring might just be round the corner. Officially one more month of winter left.
Had a chat with my neighbour across the road....I went to work and came back from work and didn't usually see the neighbours!
Wrote thank you cards, thank you emails for the kind gifts I was given last week ...posted them, buying stamps from our friendly post office staff.
Had a bath! First in ages, read a bit of my library book and think I had a bath snooze!
Made pasta with bolognese sauce for dinner with rtc mince.
Have a lovely day0 -

Evening all.
1) Reverbed 1p.
2) Looked into getting travel insurance for my trip away in September and found that it will cost me the grand total of £2.60, so I'll sort that out over the weekend.
3) Picked two HG alpine strawberries.
4) Very impressed by the number of pods on my borlotti bean plants - I might actually get to eat some this year!
5) Lazy dinner of pie, chips and beans tonight as I feel about ready to curl up and go to sleep.
Hugs DD - it's lovely to hear from you.Back after a very long break!0 -
Got to sleep in! (*Love* the summer holidays.)
It rained! Spares me going round with a watering can. Or letting a child do it & fretting they'll step on a liitle herb. Still blinking at all this yellow stuff.
Home made tomato & onion sauce (and garden herbs, and garlic & Loads of onions) on pasta for tea & the lads ate every last bite.
Recovering from the new sport of pushing husband in wheelchair in the supermarket. I push, he tries to steer hismelf. We chortled through the shopping.
Son peacefully "man knitting" - making chain mail with split rings and two clamps. Building up quite an area - but still some way off shirt...
Other sons reading. No nagging, no prompting, just the sackload of library books tempting them!
Transcribed flyer for new Morrisons opening nearby. Posted under Local stuff.
Oh yes - the chaps were disappointed in the Caligula program - no gore, no visible corpses & (unlike Pompeii) no phalluses. I was amused at how Caligula the raging myth was tamed into family viewing...
We still want Mary Beard as a Stunt Granny.:A0 -
1. God has been busy watering the garden again, the garden looks happy, but I think that's enough for now
2. Three cherry tomatoes are now ripe! Very pleased as I grew the plants from seed this year.
3. Fresh runner beans, peas and courgettes with dinner this evening.
4. Playing with our 2 year old DGD, reading stories, singing and "cooking" plastic food for the dog0 -
Heard father in law admitted to hospital at 3.30 this morning.
Heard just now, identified kidney stone, & plans afoot for surgery.
Can stop looking up funerals, black ties etc & slap a stamp on the get well soon cards...
The yellow thing? Is a washy, feeble, unreliable thing to the thrumming glow of joy & relief....0
