I am hiding away in the bedroom from OH who has taken over the bad mood I had earlier. Literally, I think I gave it to him as I was in a foul mood earlier and am fine now, whereas he is in a right grump now
. Things are a little tense chez VJsparents as we are getting ready to go to France tomorrow and V and j are not doing much to help. V just says she didn't want to go anyway, which is going down like a lead balloon, and J is lazy and wants his packing done for him.
However, we have done pretty much all we can tonight and I shall get up early to finish before we head off to st P for the Eurostar. It'll all be alright on the night. Kids and I are going first thing and OH will join us later on tomorrow night. Unless he loses his passport again, like last year and doesn't turn up at all  that was a year ago, can you believe it? (For those new to the thread, last year the kids and I sent 3 weeks in America, without OH who was supposed to fly out for weeks two and three but had his passport stolen before he left and didn't come at all in the end. We travelled around New York and Pennsylvania on our own, I drove 2000 miles and was well chuffed with us for doing it)
Anyhow, today's pleasures
1. Actually got all my work finished before I left this afternoon
2. Even managed a half hour lunch with colleagues
3. A big fat strawberry off one of my plants -dipped in sugar.
4. Driving into town with DD this morning. It made me sad because she said she didn't want to buy a cuddly toy at Disneyland, on our wy home, as in a years time she will leave them all behind to go to university
5. ISIHAC while cooking fish fingers and chips for teaI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Well, still no keys so no trip tomorrow (as I can't use the car). Been looking for them for 5 hours now. Sons have helped and so have my brother, MrN and MrN's sons.
We've looked across the road where sons were on their scooters, behind the village hall where we'd been playing cricket. I've taken the house apart, looked in the cooker, freezer, been through the dustbins.
MrN has offered us a lift to the station with him in the morning but I've looked at the place we are going (tickets paid for!) and it is in Edgbaston and miles to walk from University.
It was a day at the Nature Centre with Autism West Midlands - the first trip I have booked with them.
The car is going for its MOT on Monday so goodness knows how I can get a new key for it before then!0 -
Thank you everyone for your kind wishes, and for all the cakes
Frith you didn't drop them in my virtual cake, did you? Just a thought
VJsmum count to 10 slowly, then scream! Have a super holiday when you get there
Kittikins I think I should have a wee taste (or two) of both first to see which one I prefer
I have to be up at silly o'clock so better get to bed, sweet dreams0 -
Right, you can really stuff your marrows. VJS only grisly ones are aloud to grow grumpy. Grrrrrrrrrr.
Rites, POETS Day. Hairy and grixzzzzlx to go home. No nesting news this weekend as the softies have the site down. So not even an update for Sundae puds.
And remember nana's words. Do not place your hard earned cash on the collection plate. They will only invest in the payday loans to keep robes of gold, while keeping the food banks out of pity's way.
BARKING NEWS
Now Braticus Primera is safely tucked into his silver spoon, tv came on. Seems we are now suffering a Media Enthused Mourning Syndrome. Ok. Yes it was a tragedy, but I did not know you, so I will get on with mine. Same as he horses that rode into the fog in 1967. Next day we carried on!0 -
Hello, almost dark o'clock here but at 5.45pm still a tiny bit of light left in the sky....our days are drawing out!
So I woke up early again! I'd love to sleep past 5am! Got up and pottered, phoned my FIL .
Made pancakes for girls breakfast.
Washed food cupboards out and made an inventory of what's in them! Then wrote a shopping list.
Almost set the house on fire as toast didn't pop up from the toaster just kept toasting! Yikes! I had been hanging washing out on line and came in to a thick grey fug of smoke and a rather delayed detector eventually went off. DS and I ran round opening windows and doors.
Gutted my daughters bedrooms and bathroom! Bring your washing down I say every single blooming day in life! 3 loads were chucked over the banister !!! The pleasure being that I now know its been done!
Got washing out on line and dried off a bit , ironed and on clothes horses.
(sparrer....humour me... I like to know its done! )
Went for a hair cut, hairdresser is pregnant so we had a lovely chat as she cut my hair....looks nice for now!
Popped into local grocers and bought a few things on my shopping list that were on special offer.....one of which was chocolate which I shared with my son!
Have had mince(rtc) in slow cooker since 9am and have made a mince pie for tea, with rtc mashed potatoes , sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower and peas!
So another nice day off, tidy house, up to date washing and ironing so I can enjoy my Saturday scone without having to do any housework!
Have a lovely Friday0 -

Skintos - I am not jealous... I am not jealous... I am not ( of course I am ) 3 weeks off ! Enjoy!!
Have a lovely day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
