LFS: Wonderful place, we wanted to go but couldn't make it this year, planning on going next year. We used to go each year but it went through a bit of wierd off phase and we haven't been back for a while, but heard great things this year.
I’ve done something to my lower back and I’m not a happy chap tonight, can’t get any painkillers to touch it and I can’t seem to lay down. So I’m tired and in pain,
Another work day nearer to the weekend.:T
Liking the apps I saw on the super scrimper programme offering hints on recipes for what you have.
A surprise email from a work colleague that’s moved on out.;)
I’m finding watering the garden very therapeutic.0 -
PK - I would invite you to our open day but I don't think it will be as exciting as weeting! The steam engines are magnificent, I love to watch them ploughing. It was lovely this year, quite a few junk stalls, lots to look at, but it must be a fair hike for you!
Hope your back feels better soon, you need a good rub down with an oily rag as my dad used to say:D2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -
1. Friends over for a "goodbye" get together for a couple of friends moving away - this is a happy and sad post.
2. Consequently we have a very tidy house, I whizzed about with the hoover in readiness.
3. We have 4 unopened bottles of wine left (brought by our guests).
4. Cheese and tomatoes on toast.
5. Small runner beans are visible and there are lots of red flowers.0 -
My sons are called George and Alexander - they are 18 and 22 respectively :T:T:T
Nowt wrong with either Molly. No matter what they choose to call the bratling not everyone is going approve. My cat - you know the animal we have that was 'the one' no matter how many went before or came after, was George. He was special.
Thanks VJsmum, now know what 'isihac' means. Doh!
BoP I have Classic FM on in the car, it's soothing when I have to drive through a load of idiots
1. Out to the shops and back home again by 9.15am. Never seen the High Street so empty
2. Having to wait for the car mats I have on order for Puddin', and found a temporary set for £3 in the cs
3. Also got a brand new cool box for £2, complete with ice packs for Saturday's picnic in Brum. Friends and I are spending this weekend at the Hilton and having a picnic by the lakes on the Sat, weather permitting
4. Postie brought me some very generous/useful £gifts for my b/day tomorrow. Got told off for opening them early by DM
5. Like miss-emmajane I had a pamper afternoon, showered, defuzzed and shampooed, tanned and mani/pedi. Ready to face the world with a confidence boost tomorrow
Sweet dreams0 -
Brother of Frith is particularly pleased the new prince is going to be called George.
Here are my pleasures for today.
1) Smaller son had his last (half) day at school. A strange pleasure is that he was quite sad when he got home! He's never had anything to miss before.
2) I had a "quick lie down" once smaller son had left and was then woken up at 10.30 by bigger son!
3) Phoned the County Council to confirm smaller son's new school place. They agreed with me that he will not be shoved in there on the first day of term but will go back to his present school for a proper transition to the new unit.
4) Sons very busy today playing in the den and on their scooters with MrN's son 5. They sellotaped an ipod to one of the scooters so there is lots of film waiting to be downloaded.
5) Phoned the garage. They are going to look my car over on Monday to see if it is worth MOTing (think it may be scrapped instead). They are always so helpful and will lend me their spare car.
6) Went swimming with sons and my brother. We had a game of "water polo" and while brother and bigger son were taking ages talking tactics instead of just going for the goal, I slid the goalposts along the side of the pool quietly so brother missed!0 -

Reckon your dads right
Which show is it, or PM me if you like, your right might be a bit far for a day.. We always do a yearly visit to Strumpshaw for the Bank Holiday weekend, which is Norfolk it's the farthest we can get to from here. We also head to the big dorset one each year. Just read your post out to DH and his eyes lit up at junk stalls.:rotfl:0 -
Good morning all!
PK - I hope that your back is ok ?
LFS- I luuuuurve brocolli . Crave the stuff
VJsmum - how do you manage it ? A hairdresser where you can get a word in edgeways (Glasto)??
well thank goodness the news is about news. Thought we were going to get a running commentary about the contents of the Royal nappy .
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all, dark o'clock here and my first day of being a (temporary ) lady of leisure!
So:
I woke up far too blooming early but phoned FIL, SIL and friend.
Made tuna pasta for girls packed lunches.
I did 4 loads of washing and hung on line, mostly dry( ish) , ironed and on clothes horses waiting for heating to come on.
I walked up to library , watched Holby using their Internet, tried not to show my displeasure at a group of 3-4 year olds being allowed to jump all over the furniture (sofas and tables) right where I was sitting! I ended up moving before I said something!
Posted a letter. It was so cold and such an icy wind.
Came home and watched a rather dire film ...however during ad breaks I cleaned 2 bathrooms, hoovered downstairs, hung washing out , brought washing in and ironed.
Went to hairdressers.....an hour late! Whoops! Rescheduled for tomorrow .
Popped into op shop and had a good mooch and bought 4 tops for me and 2 for DD2.
Home and remade my bed, so nice clean sheets tonight.
Made spicy pumpkin, potato and carrot soup and bread in the breadmaker for dinner tonight.
Made a list of all the to do things needing done....ticked off a few ( I do love a list:))
I have been wrapped up like Nanook of the north but have not put heating on during the day. I had to pay my car registration ( bit like road tax but a lot more expensive! ) it was almost $800! (£500), petrol is the highest price ever at the moment so not filling up until I have to and hoping it comes down soon! A bit of frugal living over next 2 weeks won't go amiss!
At least I don't need to buy flowers this week
Have a lovely Thursday whatever you get up to.....is it still as hot?0 -
Good evening all!
mhagster - your post sounds as if you are very chilled out and enjoying some mhagster time ! Not hot here its just right not oven like in car, with a nice gentle breeze.
5 for today
1. Work ok - I will be busy next week as manager is off and I am "gatekeeping" so to speak in his absence. To tell the truth as a team we will allocate cases amongst ourselves so he doesn't need me to do it.
2. Colleague bought in doughnuts, cheese straws, Prin*les etc. Not much tea required tonight.
3. In lift I bumped in to an ex colleague that I have not seen for 13 years when we worked together in a Psychiatric Unit. She looks fab ( painting in attic me thinks) Our paths will cross again due to our respective roles .
4.Took the terrier to the park. She lost her ball so was not too puffed out today and its cooler.
5. Day off tomorrow !
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
