Sparrer: I am guilty of popping on last night to check you were ok. I'm so glad it went well, looking forward to hearing about him.:j
1. A looking forward to pleasure, we were supposed to be going out tonight but we are old and suffering from bah Friday night traffic can't be bothered so we are going out tomorrow instead.
2. Sitting here typing with an animal curled contentedly on my lap.:)
3. Ordering in, but have a £15 off welcome voucher...:money:
4. Might have half of a nice cold pear cider, MSE as it's been cluttering up the place for about 4 months now:p
5. It's Friday whoop whoop, not so good bit is I received "reject" emails for jobs I applied for, but hey ho they just weren't the right ones.;)
I'm looking around at all of the cleaning up and house work and thinking, yeah I will get round to it at some point, I'm reminded of the dust poem.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.0 -
Welcome back missmoneysave x
1. SUNSHINE
2. Impromptu play for DD here with one of her best friends, such a lovely girl.
3. Pasta and pesto for the second day running, nomnom.......chum fancied it and we agreed it was a good idea and nice and easy for me to do.
4. Managed to keep my cool even though yet another spanner in the £&%^£$%!! works has been thrown at me by Student Finance. Let's just hope they don't lose my passport! Now they don't accept that DD is my DD and I'm entitled to CHB........errr, I've sent a letter, a bank statement, her original birth certificate! What more - do I need to go to their offices with her to prove she exists? (Pretty much, need to get tax credits and CHB to resend letters confirming her existence). I'm so glad this is just a one-year course.....
5. I've sorted out loads of our belongings and have nearly filled the car already (I am not planning on driving between now and Sunday and this will help me with that resolve as the car is quite loaded!!) for the car boot sale.
6. Swapped £££ notes for coins at work, saving me a trip to the bank for a float for the sale. Tomorrow will be busy with the village fayre
7. Had a really good clear out at work of the filing cabinet of doom - years and years worth of rubbish, basically that no one will ever need to look at again, so now they can't - as its either shredded or binned! I've kept a couple of copies of things just in case, but really didn't need 9 copies of the 2009 KS4 options choices booklet - did I?!? Hoping it will make life easier for my replacement
8. Only 13 days to go until I'm unemployed again! I wonder if I can claim jobseekers before I go to university? Whilst I am giving up my job voluntarily, we do have to move because of the house sale, I have paid a lot of tax and NI over the years I will be trying to get temp work but not sure if that'll work out as I have to re-register with agencies and go through the whole referencing process again
9. Lovely glass of wine, a real treat after a long, hot, confusing at times week.
10. I've managed to do a job around the house my dad has been nagging me to do for a wee while...and he'll be here by 10am tomorrow, so good job eh?!!0 -
PK - whats the dust poem??
BoP - thanks for lots of yellow thing..I hid in the shade!
MMS - intrigued by your blog..is it findable?
1. filled up my little honesty stall(its only 4' by 2') and it made me smile cos theres potatoes, carrots, courgettes, kohl rabi, onions, lettuce and rhubarb:D It looks so pretty and I grew it all:o
2. Yesterday a friend swapped some new pots for gooseberries:D so I ate some..then some more..I have had tummy ache all day!! And I've spent more time in the little girls room than I care to mention!! Trouble is I love fruit in season..and theres raspberries too..and...
3. Cherries are getting red:D (my poor tummy)
4. I had first bath then OH made me a cuppa and I sat in the garden with the solar fountain and all the solar lights slowly coming on:) so pretty
5. Huge pile of washing up in the kitchen but I am NOT doing it tonight. After figuring out how much emersion heater costs I'll do it with the (gas) kettle in the morning!
6. Two loads of washing dry by the yellow thingmmm crispy
7. DS is with his dad this weekend;) but  at his dad who wants to miss his next weekend..Ds thinks his dad doesn't want to see him anymore (he only see's him once a month as it is! And he's missed twice this year already, poor DS, I know he's 17 but still needs his dad or he might turn out strange like me:D) Sorry for the rant-ette (its cos he text me and told me so I wouldn't moan at him tomorrow...I must scare him:D)
Big hugs and a cheeky weekend with yellow thing and special underwearto anyone who would like some;)

Argh, tired and eyes dried out thanks to days and days of hayfever tablets....
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Had to drive crying bigger son to school. He was still too traumatised by having his hair cut to go on the bus. :-/ Pleasure was I was able to use the car journey to fit in other jobs!
2) Stopped off to do a geocache I had been meaning to do for ages!
3) Got a few bits from the ironmongers and took stuff to the charity shops.
4) Boxed up sister's CDs for Music Magpie so that is ready to post tomorrow.
5) Blackleaded the stove. Vile job. Despite wearing disposable gloves, all finger nails still look like I've never washed my hands.
6) Made some brownies.
7) Watched the earlier semi final at Wimbledon.
8) Brother came for tea (chilli and rice, jelly and fruit and brother brought a summer pudding with him that had every soft fruit that he grows in it!)
9) Sister picked us all up and we went to a quiz at the school where she worked. Most teams had 6 adults and we had 3 and 2 children so we did well to come 5th out of 14. Took the brownies.
10) Laughing to myself on the way home as I was listening to sister talking and it very slowly dawning on brother that she is getting married next year! There has been no engagement (official proclamation or ring) but she was mentioning the meeting house and the music she wants to walk out to came on her CD. :-D
11) Smaller son had a good day at school despite problems. His school backs onto a mainstream primary and the little dears in the mainstream had decided to wang stones over the wall and one had hit smaller son's friend in the leg. Their head gathered together all the pebbles (son's school courtyard is made of that soft tarmaccy stuff so the pebbles were obvious) and marched next door and so terrified them all that the culprit burst into tears! Smaller son was well impressed with that. One of smaller son's fellow pupils had a head banging session and managed to bash the teacher in the face so she had to go home. :-( Son stayed calm though.
12) Just about to go to bed and listen to whatever was on iplayer - Now Show or the News Quiz? Can't remember.0 -
Well thank you! How kind that you came on to see if I was back, and how the date went
Frith the tea sounds amazing, I love trout
DD please be very, very careful if you try on line dating, imho most men on line want one thing only - some even make it quite plain they want an affair on the side . You have to sort through a heck of a lot of chaff before you get to the wheat. Plenty of time to think about that anyway
mhags apricot scone sounds delicious! Pleased your car wasn't damaged, you don't need any more negatives in your life
mms what a lovely post, you sound well on top of everything. Isn't gardening lovely? I'd not done much til I was on my own, now I love it - as some of you will know
CCP loved your story re the falafel, hope you're not on metered water
aww PK, hope you didn't stay up too late. Very sensible, the Dust poem. There's always tomorrow
kittikins good luck with finance, what a fiasco. They'll be asking for a DNA next! It's no consolation but you're not alone, DS's partner, who has three children, had this every year. It gets sorted out eventually but frustrating at the time.
lfs love the sound of your honesty stall and all its produce, I like seeing them at the side of the road and often hope people will be honest when they stop to buy. I'm sure they are
1. Nice aussie man came to put up the curtain poles/hold-backs and the bathroom roller blind. He undercharged me even though he did a super job, hoovered up everywhere, even hung the curtains for me
2. Djokovic/del Potro match. What a game!
3. DNeighbour and I went shopping, I took back two dresses, got a refund, then bought two more the same in the sale, plus a third, and got £5 change
4. Planned tea scrapped, used up the last of the 5 chicken drumsticks I got in Mr M on Weds evening, rtc @19p for the bag.
5. Text from T.B, asking how I am. Forgot to say last night that when we met I offered my hand for a handshake and he bowed and kissed it. Smoothie!
Sweet dreams0 -
Aw you lot are so lovely. Cant see me tryinginternet dating very soon (if ever!) but your concern for me as left me feeling very loved
Very late back from day that has been rollercoaster of emotions
1) got my promo app in. Dean has been absolutely lovely. He has been honest it's border line so happy to recommend or happy for me to delay but knowing about the year i've had wants to prepare me for failure. I sed i want to go ahead and if not successful build on feedback
2) lunch with best friend which is always good
3) out for supper with colleague and ex colleague over from america. She'd split from her husband of 10 years was a good friend of xoh so didnt know how to say we'd split but did eventualy and all good
4) she was shocked especially knowing what we've gone through but gave good advice on not seeing it as a failure just a chapter of life now closing
5) then to pub for cricket on one screen (soooo exciting and a draw) and tennis (go murray go)
The reason i'm soooo late is we then went to colleagues for whisk and lots of laughs. Being single does have some compensations. Off to the pub at 11 for lions v wallabies.
Thank you so much for all being there, you are all teriffic xxxMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Rite, it has started again. Now Ms Whack did get a bit toasted yesterday! So be careful!
Yellow Things is On
Yellow thing subject to approval
Now for pleasures
5 Watched John Wayne movie last nigh. A John Ford special. B1oody hundreds of Indians, everywhere. One even arrowed the firewater man! Was snoggled up to Ms Whack, but not too close as she was toasted! Needed a decent Lee van Cleefe to take them out, Excellent shot that LvC!
4 Had a glass of wobbleade as well, to keep me perky
3 Sausages now under gorilla, with bacon and eggs. Cup of tea to start the day! With glass of freshly teased Ms Whack orange juice to wash it down with. Now Frogs and Ices are in fridghe for later on. (Fredo versions!)
2 gether with Ms Thwack for the day, should be a case of leg and chase today.
1 No say 'I told you so!!' However tempted to do so. It will do you lot no good at all. It is the way of BoP, so be grateful for me for pointing the obvious, while !!!
And a final 1. Cat has hit the deck! That will be him for the day then!0 -
We've had another nice day off.
Nice chat with friend first thing .
We found a nice new to us cafe ( recommended by a friend) so had a nice brunch there. Popped into the Op shop next door and got a hello Mhagster ....one of my work customers volunteers there! So had a nice chat with her.
Then we drove ( the loong way) to the coast on the Bellarine Peninsula, we usually head towards the Mornington Peninsula ....( give them a google) a flock of pelicans flew overhead.
It was pouring with rain and so bloomin' cold but we found a nice heated cafe and had a late lunch ,so no tea required tonight.
Then we drove to the Yooyangs and saw numerous kangaroos , emus, ibis, parrots, as were driving out 5 kangaroos jumped out of woods and bounced across the road in front of us ....number 5 got stage fright and just stopped in the middle of the road and looked at us for at least 1 minute then did the biggest jump over a fence in the direction he came. I love them and could watch them all day. A lot of farmers will see them as pests as they do damage crops but with my touristy head on they are fabulous .
Then home sweet home, pjs on and early night I think!
Enjoy your weekend0 -
Morning all - a quick 5 before I go into the garden for the day
Nice to see everyone so happy with the sunshine
DD - my sister has just become single (at her instigation). I am feeling a little sorry for BiL who moved out yesterday - although much of it is his own fault as he is a control freak and the worm turned. I think my sister is a little lost though and, being 200 miles away, I can't do much but be on the end of a phone. What I have noticed with sis is that she seems to be talking to and about friends lately, which I have not known her do for many years. Not that this will be relevant to your situation, but your last point about being out with friends made me think of it.
Sparrer - sounds a lovely man
MMS - blimey, you're moving fast getting that house organised
LFS - love the idea of the honesty stall
So for yesterday
1. Got the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned - they were all minging  Caught up with all my R4 progs while i did so. Crying with laughter at ISIHAC, particularly the food with a letter missing, also news quiz, caught up with the last couple of Archers (is moany Brenda leaving?) and the Food Programme (I said they were dirty:o)
2. 3 loads of washing done and on the line
3. Lunch with friend and DD - who I naughtily allowed to skive her french lesson. She is giving french up from September but still has to do it until she gets her AS results but isn't interested and is falling out with her teacher.
4. Cheese and lentil loaf for tea with salad. Been fancying it for weeks and finally made it
5. Aquacise with DD - nice and cool in the pool on such a hot day.
Gardening today :T and then a barbie with our lovely friends later.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all.
1) All the mealworms I put out yesterday have gone, although I don't know how many ended up inside the blackbirds they were intended for and how many went to the wood pigeon that was plodding around this morning like a feathery vacuum cleaner.
2) Went to leave the house this morning and found that a neighbour had parked behind me, blocking me in, which I've said he can do as parking around here is a nightmare in the summer. I knocked on the door to ask him to move and a wail came from the open upstairs window "but I'm in the shower!". :rotfl:
3) After a false start with a shop assistant who sold me the wrong thing (a good test of my knowledge of the MSE info on returning products!), I've got hold of one of those things that adjusts the angle of a car seatbelt, to stop it strangling me every time I drive (almost literally, which could be dangerous in a crash). The price wasn't a pleasure, but not having the seatbelt round my throat definitely is!
4) Had an ampersand-esque No More Plants moment - I popped into the garden centre to get some more plastic plant pots and came out with an aubergine plant (£2), a pack of three chilli plants (£2), and three little thrift plants (50p each). And some plastic plant pots.
5) Chatting to a couple of ladies - mother and daughter, I think - at the garden centre - the younger lady has just got her first garden and was looking with some bemusement at the range of clearance plants. I was more than happy to offer some advice, particularly when, from a shelf of RTC chrysanths, she picked up the only yellow one.
6) Despite getting a bit lost on the way homeI arrived in time to watch the women's final from Wimbledon, although the match itself wasn't much of a pleasure - there's nothing entertaining about watching someone fall apart in front of your eyes.
7) The mens' doubles final which is on now is rather better!
8) Got my new plants potted up (as they were badly pot-bound, particularly the aubergine) between the end of one match and the beginning of the second.
9) BBQ tonight, with everything HM in good OS fashion.
10) Lots and lots of yellow thing.
Have a great evening, all.Back after a very long break!0
