Welcome Montmorencymon  lovely post, good luck in your search for your school friend
CCP today's picture is beautiful, please don't stop posting them.
ampersand thank you, and to anyone else who 'shared'. It such a sad story, I do hope they turn up
Kittikins another one very fond of Pevensey Castle here. Every time one of you mentions East/West Sussex I get homesick for Little'ampton
Seems some of my 5 are connected with one or other of yours in some way today -
1. Spanish bank has as last sorted out the problem that wouldn't let me get on line. Took them 5 weeks so it's nice to be able to log on at last
2. Picked my first bowl of strawbugs, had my annual one - to see if I like them yet but still not doing anything for me - and gave the rest to neighbour's DD
3. Out to lunch with friends and one's DM who is here from NZ for a month. We rabbited on about horses (she has 20, runs a charitable trust for the disabled) and dogs (she breeds/judges smooth coated collies), for the whole 3 hours, afraid to say we bored the other two senseless, they ended up sitting in the pub garden and left us to it
4. At long last I've found someone who puts up curtain poles/roller blinds etc., only had the bathroom blind in the spare bedroom for 2 1/2 years. He's coming to quote this week, can't believe I might have curtains up at the stairs and landing at last!
5. Found a use for the bottle of pure lemon juice which has been sitting in the fridge for ages. A couple of squirts in a glass of cold water is very refreshing in this lovely warm weather
Sweet dreams0 -
DD declared it the BEST CASTLE EVER
1. I woke up this morning, looked out of the window and saw a beautiful hot air balloon sailing by.
2. Helped on caf! team at church and was very lucky to come home with some delicious scones and flapjacks, milk and bread rolls, very kind of my friend B x Not quite the loaves and fishes, but it's helping sort out DD's packed lunches this week
3. Sunshine and lots of it!
4. We bumped into lots of chums whilst out and about in the nearest town.
5. We were too hot and bothered to go up to the guide hut for a cream team this afternoon, but they did well without our donation - and my waistline will thank me for it as well
6. A very nice lady stopped DD and I in a shop to tell me how beautiful I looked in my gorgeous bright maxi dress
7. DD gave me a very relaxing pedicure and I repaid the compliment by giving her a facial; the poor little scrap's puberty signs are speeding up and I think I need to make this a regular event, so that we can try and avoid spotty skin for as long as possible.
8. Picnic lunch in the garden, we decided to not go out adventuring today, and had a lovely time watching the bees enjoy the flowers instead
9. We put a couple of slices of cucumber into our big jug of water and were ladies wot drank like we were in our favourite restaurant0 -
1) Dd1's graduation yesterday. Came over all emotional!
2) found £70 tesco vouchers when looking for summat else and they're still in date whoop
3) bedroom move almost complete. It looks lovely
4) puppies settling in well though cats still jealous
5) lovely phone call from dd2 whose bf's parents split up 4 years ago. She was giving worldly wise wisdom
Ouch about the uni fees mhags dd1 has been accepted onto masters which will be about £7k which seems bad enough!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Quick pleasures for today!
1) A lie in.
2) Gloss painted the upstairs window sills.
3) Got the boys' room back together after yesterday's painting.
4) Mum finished the curtains for smaller son's bed (pic to follow).
5) Pizza for tea!
6) My school friend came over.
7) The ex has had a mad fit and given sons £80 each in cash. :-/ Bit weird but smaller son has wanted a kindle for years so has ordered one! Bigger son keeping hold of his money for the moment.
P.S The pic makes my painting look wobbly! The edge between walls and ceiling is not straight (nor the plaster flat) but in real life it doesn't look this dodgy.

And one of bigger son testing out the new ipod cover!

lol Frith we believe you ! Looks fab ! I must admit whenever I see photos of myself I think I cant possibly look that dodgy in real life :rotfl:

3. strimmed the alleyway behind the house which was rather jungle-like

5. ex F-in-law popped round for chat and brought me a bday card and a box of chocs.... they wont last until Wednesdayhad a few as a scrummy treat

5 fortoday
1. Work ok -one down three more days to go
2. My ex colleague at work gave me some belated birthday gifts ( May) and an invite for OH and I to attend her wedding reception in September . I am so chuffed for her and her lovely fiance.
3.Our second car is here, ready for OH to take to his first day at work tomorrow. It's better than I recall.
4. Took terrier to the park in her cage in new to us car . She refused to budge when I closed the boot of the OGV as she thought she was going out in it.
5. Chow mein for tea tonight and more strawbs. from garden today.
have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Straws in lunch box. From garden. No cream as away from Ms Thwack. Canna imagine Chick Polis and her Chicken muck!
Right, treadder being sorted. Offs on a stroll.
No other pleasure til Thursday.
Please note, I fear the Yellow thing may fail shortly, please put two penneth worth in so I can get to meter for the weekend.0 -
1) The yellow thing has been doing the hokey cokey all day, but is currently set to Out.
2) The cheque my grandmother gave me for my birthday has cleared, so I've ordered the new lamps I wanted - they're solar powered, so the presence of the yellow thing will be much appreciated for the rest of the summer.
3) Listened to the Robson match at work (shame about the result, but there's always next year), and caught the last set of the Murray match when I got home.
4) Suddenyl realised that I hadn't been credited with the price of an item that wasn't included in my last grocery delivery (two weeks ago - oops!) but the shop refunded as soon as I called them. It's only £4, but it all helps.
5) Made a big batch of veggie chilli, which still tastes OK even though I burnt it - good thing too as it's meant to be lunch for the next few days.Back after a very long break!0 -
DD Doll , wow great voucher find there.
Skint: Wonderful you are on great terms with the ex FIL.
Chicken: Congrats to your OH on the new job.
1. Rather than push it I took it very easy at home, I was awake but did not get up till gone midday forced myself to rest as otherwise there is always lots to do.
2. Came down to find the milk was solid and the fridge was not working despite looking like it is, taking with it the batch cooking I did yesterday - feeling annoyed then someone sent me a poster saying "I tried to cook from scratch and in stead I summoned a demon" which I did giggle at. https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/1044734_591169164248222_2040900301_n.jpg
3. I am sat here researching fridges on the do I buy a better but older model 2nd hand or do I buy a fridge, I am not complaining the one in there came with the house I have the paperwork and its 26 years old. Just sods law it packs up when I actually try to cook.
4. Moving from the sofa to the kitchen is about as active as I have been, I will go back into work either tomorrow or wed, I'm not rushing as it's unrelenting but conscious of the money.
5. I take it all back I did a bit of gardening just now rather than spend out we are moving plants we bought as twigs which appear to want to live here.:)0 -
Frith - love the ecard, made me smile:)
CCP - your garden looks really pretty:)
Chicken - I think I may have to keep on buying straws as Ive no chicken poo and an outside lavvy wouldn't be appreciated:D
