    Some weekend pleasures:

Long chats on the phone with friends.

Went to see Despicable Me 2 with the girls ,using the last of my cheap vouchers. It's a lovely film.

Might have spent more but the malls fire alarm went off so we just headed home.

Nice dinner made by OH of tagliatelle , mushrooms, bacon and RTC chicken. Was very tasty.

Sorted out Christmas gifts already purchased. All bought for friends and their kids, my mum ,my MIL and great niece. NO MORE will be bought for them! I'm now starting to buy for my kids....as and when see something and can afford it!

Today I woke up early and made a pavlova and more tablet ( Scottish sweet) though it didn't set as well as it should, it's still tasty!

Sunday scone and papers spread out on the table and mooched through!

Moved the kitchen table out of the kitchen and replaced with a butchers block. We use the dining room table more and kitchen table took up a lot of space in this kitchen. So my new butchers block is now home to my kitchen aid and pretty tea towels!! Everyone has been warned that the tea towels are for looking pretty only....do not use...ever!!

The Hoover swallowed a sock and broke its belt....we had literally just replaced it when DS hoovered his room and accidentally sucked up his ear phones....snap went the belt.....so he's been told he can buy me a new one tomorrow !!

I made pancakes with the leftover egg yokes.

Very nice dinner of RTC chicken breasts with cream cheese and bacon wrapped round them. A bag of rtc fruit and veg for $3 supplied the roast potatoes and carrot and turnip mash. Then pavlova with strawberries and cream to follow.

Gulp! Uni fees paid today however I did get interest paid before I transferred the money....and so I start again...with a scrimping and a saving where I can.

I had thought I was having tomorrow off.....change of plan and having to work!! Did I get a thank you when I replied to a text....did I heck!!

Anyway master chef is on and then a drama set in the 50's I've been enjoying!
Have a lovely day and hope the sun shines for you all....I actually managed to get a wash out on the line today and it was mostly dry....all ironed and halo polished!

I hope the forum mods will allow this and not take it off. Thank you for you kindness

I know we have some peeps living in the south so if they're on fb hope they can spread the word.

Anyone with a forces background, in fact anyone at all, will know what these medals mean to the soldier who lost them.

Kittikins - PEVENSEY CASTLE!!!!! I did a fortnight of archaeology there in 1995 with Reading University. :-) I lived on a campsite down a road past the tiny station and got banned from a pub near the castle.

    Good afternoon all !

Kittikins - Pevensey Castle ! Did your DD like it?? As a naughty teenager I used to ride up to meet my friends on their ponies and we used to take the saddles off and gallop around in the grounds on the ponios most Sunday afternoons :o It was fab !

    5 for yesterday

    1. Lovely weather - two lots of washing dried and put away after a couple of hours on the line.

    2. Letter from the Spanish bank . It seems as if they have finally sorted out my complaint.

    3. Watched the Northumberland plate on CH 4

    4. 17 of us went out for DBros 50th birthday meal. I had saved up my 50p's since Jan. 2010 and saved enough to cover the bill with some spare. It was lovely to get together as see my nieces and nephews one is now 6ft 7 !! The whole restaurant just stared at him as he unfolded himself through the door :rotfl:

    5. Late night , all went back to DM's for a cup of tea and to chat which was nice and rare as they don't live near us.

have a good day all !

    Evening all.

Last flower photo for a while - promise! ;) - but this is probably where all your campanulas came from, ampersand:

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) The yellow thing has been out all afternoon.

    3) Gave the windows a wash: I didn't do a particularly good job - they're rather streaky - but at least I've got rid of all the sand (one of the downsides of living only a couple of hundred yards from the sea).

    4) Washed a batch of towels and got them outside for a while, although they've now had to come back inside as I got fed up with picking up the drying rack as it kept blowing over.

    5) Ordered another voucher from doing surveys. :money:

    6) Watched the grand prix, then some athletics, and now I've got showjumping. :D

    7) Did some searching for car insurance and couldn't find anything cheaper than my renewal quote, but got a fiver or so of cashback just for searching. :money:

    8) Curry for dinner, which smells fantastic - I wish it would hurry up and cook!

Have a nice Sunday evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!

Chicken: Sounds like a lovely get together
CCP: Absolutely loving the photo's, we have wall flowers out at the moment which look fantastic. Is the one from yesterday Bergonia's??
McHags: I can't wait to see Despicable Me2.:j

Thank you for the well wishes - I'm alright just a bit fed up with it going on a while now.
1.The yellow thing is out :j
2.Pottered in the greenhouse and watered tomato and pepper triffids:D
3.Animals dug at the green house trying to get in while I was in.:rotfl:
    4.Birds all over the feeder
5.Just had cold ham and mash with a little salad, fresh strawberrys and cream for later :p
6.Batch cooked a chicken pie topped with mash and prepared a casserole as part of meal planning as I had lapsed a bit recently. :o
    7. Various loads of washing dried on the free electric
  • Don't think I can manage 5, but I'm new to this ...

    1. Enjoyed the hot sunny weather today (and yesterday).
    2. Pottered around my compost bins, feeding and "aerating" (but not turning - see another thread)
    3. Mulched a sagging fig tree.
    4. Not exactly OS, since interweb heavily involved, but found some important new clues in my search for a very dear friend from primary school (so that's the OS bit, I suppose).
    5. Still enjoying the weather, as the heat of the day gently cools down (I suppose that's sort of cheating, but I seem to have made my "five a day" :) ).

    Good evening all !

    Welcome Montm. Nice post:)

PK- Thanks re the get together .Awwwh the animogs trying to get in the greenhouse with you ..sweet. Your post today is v. similar to mine :D

Lfs- no secret . Just raised beds and got these strawb.plants about 3 years ago looking very err dead for 50p in Q&B clearance. Thought they have two choices really .. They live under cloches in the winter but this year has been the best batch.Might be that I have put more effort in to looking after them this year.. oh and chicken poo.

VJsmum - hope you rocked your socks off !! Did you see the Rolling Stones ? If so I am jealous

    Lucky 7 for today

    1. Sheets all washed and dried in the sunshine . Can't wait to go to bed they smell of sunshine instead of sweaty man.

    2. DBros gave me £20 "left over" from the bill for the meal last night.

    3. OH caught a crab yesterday so we had crab cakes tonight.Quite nice .. Guess who got bits of shell in theirs though..

    4. Sent OH food shopping in Mr. A . Now need to meal plan as we will be eating at different times due to his new job , starting on Tues

5.Picked more strawberries -washed them, cut them up , poured cream on them and gave them straight to DM. They joys of living next door to her you see.

    6. Took the tiny terrier to the park as it got cooler later in the day. It was still very busy.

    7. Spent the day outside weeding the veg. plot . My idea of heaven being outside doing something I love. But then , I would still love it if it was cold and wet .

Have a lovely evening all !
