Hurrah, hurrah and hurrah! It's Friday and I'm sending sparrer a big Friday hug all the way from here!

Well work was work ....done and dusted for another week!

My car is fixed! My lovely husband sorted it out AND even gave it a wash!

That same lovely husband and my lovely youngest child came and got me at work..they came in for a cuppa,

Then we went to supermarket and got the weekly shopping....have munched on nice things since we got home.

Found a shortcut home, for when there's a traffic jam. Quite often at rush hour there are tail backs and people turn up a street to their left ....got OH to drive up and it brings you out at the far end of our street...perfect !

I'd ordered from Cath Kidst0n sale last Friday and it was delivered today. They have just started delivering to my neck of the woods ( not free though) these are for Christmas presents.

    That's me ! Have a lovely day

Planning what to see in Portsmouth with the opportunities the Armed Forces Weekend will make possible (HMS Defender *and* HMS Westminster!) We were going anyway, but this is an extra treat! What's happening near you?
    [/FONT]

Have you got the city museum on your list? It's surprisingly good for a free museum, and is just round the corner from Old Portsmouth if you want a pint / coffee / walk on the beach.

If you want any more suggestions or recommendations, let me know - I've been here for nearly eight years now () and have been to quite a lot of places!
Back after a very long break!

    Afternoon all.

As there's not much going on at Wimbledon at the moment (darn rain :(), here's some pleasures:

    1) A meeting at work that I was quietly dreading went OK: I don't think my new head of department (previously my line manager - it's all change at the moment) is going to be best pleased with the outcome, but it's all been agreed now so it's tough luck. ;)

    2) Bought some cherries from a market stall for much less than supermarket prices and they're lovely, and there's still some left (not eating the lot in one go is impressive for me! :o).

    3) Had the commentary of the Robson match playing through my earphones at work this afternoon: I wasn't really listening but had no problem telling when she won!

    4) My RTC dahlia:

    ccd8297b-84f6-4db8-a5cc-b9912e15c390_zps7b0fa110.jpg

    Not bad for £2! :money:

    5) All the stuff in the papers about burgers has left me craving one, so tonight's dinner is cheeseburger, chips and salad.

Have a good evening, all, and enjoy the tennis if it ever makes an appearance! ;)
Back after a very long break!

CCP loving the dalia the photo, I love photos on the posts.:)

1.No work I took the day off to be checked out by the doc further to the room spinning and fainting about 4 times over the past 24 hours, I've never passed out before. but he found nothing, I did it again tonight and it leaves me feeling very poorly, so no idea what is up.
2.Went to Mr T picked up some RTC's a great one thou, they reduced the rotisserie pieces, she came out chucked them out while we were looking and muttered she was off so we picked up 2 packs thinking one for tonight freeze one, only supposed to be 4 pieces in each bag, and there were 12 pieces in each bag.:T:D
3.Loving the rain for the garden but there's not really enough
4.About to make some "chicken" sarnies as we are running an event tomorrow.:o
5.Sorted through some clothes and took the step of packing some jumpers away which will jinx the weather:rotfl:

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Yummy cake at work today as someone is retiring
    2. Went to the pub at lunch time and some old work friends were also there. We haven't been to this pub for ages as service got really bad but has been taken over by some new people and was lovely so two pleasures in one.
    3. Getting birthday present for dad bought and posted he is 75 on Monday. So hard to buy for but hopefully I have got it right.
    4. Walk home without getting wet
    5. Quickly putting together a meal plan and shopping list for next week. Will need to get set up super early tomorrow to get shopping done as have a busy weeked. Wimbledon tomorrow with DD and then on Sunday being a volunteer at the SunWalk. For anyone living near London the event site in Battersea Park is an open site and free to enter. Will be quite a few music acts playing and some paid for attractions. More details here if anyone interested http://blog.walkthewalk.org/the-sunwalk-london-2013-big-day-news.htm/#more-3084

Hugs to all who need them

Welcome digforvictory . Had to look up niddy noddy, wow you're very clever to make one of those :)
So pleased to hear your car is back on the road mhags and thank you and everyone so much for your kindness, (((hugs))) in return to you all.
CCP the dahlia is beautiful :)
PK I hope they find the cause of the giddy spells, sounds horrid for you :(

Pleased to have a day filled with things to do today, so -
    1. Took DGD2 to get her hair done then rushed home to get an umbrella as it was teeming with rain. By the time I got back to the college it had dried up :rotfl:
    2. Waited while she had her face made up, very subtly done. I don't think she needs it as she has a flawless skin, so lucky at her age, but she did look lovely. College made me a cuppa and made me promise to take a photo of her in when I'm there in a week or so. I'd love to put one of the black and grey taffeta dress with its lace-up corset top on here but don't have a clue how to do it. Suffice to say I think it'll be the most stunning dress at the mansion house tonight. Not prejudiced of course :p
    3. Did a bit of shopping on the way home, bought a curry but picked up the wrong one which was far too spicy for me. I've just thrown it in the sc with a chicken, some veg and some coconut to make a milder curry which will go into 7/8 portions. Had a Gin$ters Cornish Pasty instead
    4. End of this period's OS weight loss so bought myself two rtc fresh cream and fruit scones. Had one this afternoon and the other one will disappear tomorrow . Have got the fat food out of my system now, will start the next challenge seriously on Sunday. Funny though I've actually missed my salads and fresh fruit, the stodge left me feeling quite 'heavy'
    5. Got four books from the cs, two autobiographies and a couple of funny/silly easy read paperbacks, just right for falling asleep over. Three of the books were on the sale shelf so £1.75 for all four.

    Sweet dreams :)

Bit of a strange day. My pleasures for today:

    1) Smaller son got 21/21 every day this week at school!

    2) He was also very pleased that his new taxi driver is the grandad of one of his friends.

    3) Went to see an old friend who gets on well with my former mother in law. Took mother in law's birthday card and this friend will drop it off for me. Seems the ex Mr Frith will be back in court in the next week or so. Theft and fraud this time.

    4) Builder came round to give me a quote for the kitchen and he will start in about 6 weeks! Hugely excited by this but need to get 2 new kitchen cabinets and a new sink by then. Hope Ebay delivers! The builder is going to re-plaster for me (will take before and after pictures), new skirting board and put units and new work surface up. And move the washing machine to a more sensible place. The trouble with my kitchen is there are 6 open shelves (none matching) which I don't want to keep as they are a bit tatty, but don't know what to have instead. Also, it is 10 feet square and has THREE doors coming off it (pantry, stairs and living room).

    5) Made special fried rice for tea (just rice, peas, sweetcorn, peppers and chicken and a cheating jar of sauce). Pineapple and raspberries for pudding.

    6) Went swimming with sons and my brother. Tested out the new waterproof cover for my ipod and sons took various underwater pictures and some films. Quite creepy watching them back just now. They chucked the ipod in (so you get swirly, whirly film and bubbling noises) then you see them swim down to pick it up again! I want to take a still image of them diving down to print out but don't see able to do it.

So not a bad day but a bit weird hearing about the ex husband again. Also, 2 years to the day since MrN left me. (On my birthday 2 years ago he ignored me, moved his wife back in on the 27th and today was the end of it).

Get well soon PK, that sounds very scary :( Hope you can have a good night's sleep and feel much better by the morning x

    1. Had my medicine review with a doctor I've not met before, and he was nice and agreed to continue with things as they are, as its working fine for me. Phew!

    2. Bumped into a friend on my way to the doc's, so stopped for a quick natter.

    3. A couple more chums are coming to our party.

    4. I've finally got round to filling out the legal forms for selling my house......I've not found a winning lottery ticket, so can't put it off any longer (and the buyers have done the survey now, so......)

    5. DD and I have been invited out to dinner at one of her friend's houses :)

I've just caught up with reading everyone's posts.

Each and every one counts as Pleasure no.1 - lovely dahlia, laughter, worries, coping, acceptance, reminiscence, fix-its, astuces - all of them.

    2. DID manage to do Spits on a dull, then wet, Thursday. Dire all day. Come 17.30h, I was trying to be stoic, but in reality worried. £45 taken[day stands me in@apx £100 from week's pension]then, one sale- hugely unlikely given the buyers - and 3-fig.salvation, such relief after several weeks missed, big Fair fee, car exhaust job. Even more so when I learn that there are 3 more outdoor changeovers starting next week, so it's unlikely I'll do those. Must find substitutes.

    3. Good visit with l-h yesterday. Things somehow seem to have taken a bit of a shift and I believe this is good.

    4. Reporting A Sorry Situation - the beloved pukeko gummies[alright, wellies in this hemisphere]raggedly ripped open over the foot, on both! 6 outings at most. Bought 17 December last. I am not a Big Girl, have had own small narrow feet from new. My shoes last 10/20 years! Email sent 2 days ago. Found reply today. They're entirely accepting, totally unquestioning. It seems manufacturer changed hands without their knowledge and they're seeking a quality substitute. I am offered full refund and equal value lovely possum/merino somethings - Yes Please!

    5. Always reflective en route back post-visit, decided free W8rs cappuccino would be timely, also for today's W8rs 'Weekend' paper. Reporting A 2nd Sorry Situation: WAITROSE HAD RUN OUT OF THEIR DEAR LITTLE SHORTBREAD DISC ACCOMPANIMENTS. Now, really! Further, when I enquired for their own-brand £1 pk of 8 dark choc ice-cream slices[purely for purposes of scientific research, as per latest ludicrous Japanese excuses for whaling]was informed they were oos. Imagine my amazement when Mgr lass found me @till, proffered their more costly Seriously Intense Dark Choc ones. 'Would you like to try these, with our compliments?' Another Yes Please, with an Are You Sure? Even greater surprise - I can assure Dear Readers that All 8 Are Still 8!

    6. No idea why I glanced right as I neared Thingmebobs on way out of town. Oh, yes I do. No More Plants again. All reduced to 10p! So, 7 osteospernums, 2 sarcococca, a passionfruit, a cirex fire grass. Only the first need a bit of tlc but they're all out in the continuing rain, drinking their way back to health. Donc, tout va bien.

Arrived back just 24 hrs ago, so most certainly time for bed.
pk - never NEVER ignore fainting fits.
bop - you put the spare on recharge in March. I haven't seen the yellow thing properly anywhere since. Spitalfields' D borrowed it for 2 weeks in Turkey though. Showed us glorious envy-arousal pics and looks tantastically handsome. BUT, can assure you he did not have remote OR the spare - was bemoaning the fact throughout a dismal day.
